TERRIBLE QUALITY!! I hoped the last several times had been flukes... This location was purchased I think earlier this year. They changed the regular pizza crust....eh...ok. I always have gotten gluten free pizza here. We have always gotten pizza here because of the gluten free crust and how good it was. They have changed the gluten free crust and it is terrible. The regular pizza crust change I guess isn't a big deal. There are few places in the area to get good gluten free crust/pizza and now this is not one of them. I reached out to the management by email on their web site to let them know the change is not good and we will not be back. They responded "it must be another business" and basically pretended to not be Rafferty's. We obviously will not break their business but if you are looking for a good gluten free pizza....this is now the place to avoid. It is sad because this was our favorite pizza place to go. read more

Been coming here since I was a kid. Every time I'm in some trendy, supposedly outstanding foodie recommended pizza place that charges you way too much for mediocre pizza I think fondly about this place. The pizza here is great. It is better than anything else I've had in Minnesota. The sauce here has no peer. The location in the wannabe mall is just outstanding. Take n bake is just ok IME. No COVID compliance at this take-out location in Brainerd. Two employees had fabric masks but weren't wearing them on their face (just around neck or hanging off ear). Another employee had one on his face, but it wasn't covering his nose, and yet another employee had only a face shield (studies are showing these to be ineffective and experts are recommending if someone wears one, they should pair it with a fabric face mask). We love their pizza, but we won't be back. A restaurant should be taking greater care in ensuring they aren't spreading germs, and also greater care to ensure the health of the people that prepare the food. read more

Rafferty's is a pizzacopia of childhood memories. As a kid I used to come here to play Street Fighter II with my friends. They had 2 arcade games tucked away on the side. If we went with our parents they'd let us play the video games after we ate all our pizza. Life as a kid was rough, as you can tell. Their pizza was also really tasty though. They have these tray things they use to put food in and out of the oven. The girl used one, pulled some food out and then turned and pushed the trash down with the same tray. I'm done here. This is going to be a mixed review. I love this place the pizza here is amazing I love their cheeseburger pizza with a passion ,but the last time we came here the staff was rude. I disagree with their thinking on the gluten free menu. My mother in law cannot have gluten not because shes trying to follow some diet trend because she will get very sick if she has it. We came in here last year and I'm just now getting around to writing a review about our experience. The menu states "Now Offering Gluten Free Pizzas " however none were to be found on the menu. So we politely ask what pizzas can be offered as gluten free the staff explains they charge more for gluten free. This is ridiculous your going to charge someone more for having a food allergy? The small is $8.19 while a small gluten free is $10.19. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! For this reason I will never return here. I have been to so so many places in Minneapolis that recognize the absurdness in charging so much extra for gluten-free items and happily display "gluten-free options at no extra charge" in their menus. My wife and I recently visited Rafferty's for the first time. It looks unassuming from the outside (it's in a mall), but the inside was surprisingly nice. You place your order at the counter, pick up your own plates, get your own drink, and they bring the pizza to you. We went up on the second floor balcony and enjoyed looking at the historical pictures while we waited. We bought the vegetarian pizza and breaded mushrooms. I'm going to take a lot of heat for this because it's a love affair for locals. I truly think you have to be a local to say this is the best pizza around. Since moving to the area, I've tried their pizza, many times as all the locals feel it's a must have, but I find the crust is cardboard-y bland, the sauce is bland, and it's just an overall underwhelming eat. Most definitely not the best pizza ever and not really even the best in town. More of a local favorite, I suspect, due to it being a local establishment and the sense of nostalgia it brings for everyone. Oh Rafferty's! Where have you been all of my life?!?!?! My husband and I went to Brainerd to visit his parents and they brought me to Rafferty's to enjoy some good pizza and boy am I glad that they did! While I didn't exactly enjoy the decor (I think they could spruce things up a bit); their pizza was so, so good-- which is in my opinion the only thing that really matters at a pizza joint. My husband and I shared a large Rafferty's finest. The crust was thinner than I usually go with but it was delicious. The red sauce was delicious with a bit of sweetness noted. There was a great portion of toppings on the pizza. My only complaint: a majority of the toppings are above the cheese so they fall off while trying to inhale the pizza. It's a good thing I live far away from Rafferty's because I think I would end up eating Rafferty's at least once a week if I lived there. This place is a gem! Try it out! read more
