I've always passed by Bahama Buck's but have never been inside. We recently had a coupon to use up so we indulged in a shaved ice here, and have been back an additional time. Now my kiddo's hooked and frequently requests shaved ice when she wants a treat lol. I appreciate how they have natural flavors that don't have any artificial colors in them. In addition to the listed natural flavors on their menu, the pina colada and Jamaican rum flavor also have no added artificial color. It's been a while since I had shaved ice. The ice is made to order from a giant block and the texture is super soft like snow. The flavors are spot on too. We've had the watermelon and guava so far and both have been very refreshing, although I prefer the watermelon more if I had choose between the two. The shaved ice has a very tiki-tropical feel to it as they stick a mini umbrella on top when they serve it to you. The toddler absolutely loves this too and tries to use it as a regular umbrella. Service has been friendly and helpful. I also love how the spoons change color from teal to purple if they get cold. Always a great experience at this location. The drive thru makes ordering much faster and more convenient for those who order as "curbside pickup." The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I've never been disappointed with any team member nor their ability to support me. The actual product is just as amazing. The variety of flavors to pick from almost makes it impossible to pick. I'm also quite fond of their online ordering. It's easy to use and makes things much easier, especially if you're in a rush. So, I've been coming to Bahama Bucks since I was in high school (about 10 years ago). Honestly, the last few months at this specific location, they have been soooo stingy with their syrup. I don't know if it's poor training or if management is straight up telling employees to use as little syrup as possible but this is absolutely the worst it's ever been in my 10 years of coming to Bahama Bucks. The syrup in both mine and my partners shaved ices go about a third of the way? We literally paid $13 just for 2 cups of plain ice. If I wanted plain ice I could have gone to my freezer, chipped away at the frozen sides of it and it would have tasted just as good and it would have been free. Lack of syrup aside: this location also takes around 10 minutes in the drive through per car every time you go (for reference the Mesa location takes about 2 minutes per car). If you really want good shaved ice and want to keep supporting Bahama Bucks, go to the Mesa location because they actually put syrup in it. read more

Decided to stop here after playing a round of mini golf next door. They have a huge selection of flavors which is nice & the shaved ice is very soft when eating it. However there was a rather large portion of my shaved ice that didn't have any flavoring poured on it, but it still had a flavor & that flavor tasted like straight tap water which was unpleasant and made me stop eating the shaved ice. My guess was they are either hooked up to the tap water or their filtration system does not work properly. The rest of my party didn't finish their shaved ices either for various reasons, over all we weren't that happy with paying about $20 for four shaved ices that no one finished. So I got shaved ice and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because half way through, there wasn't any more flavor. It was just ice. I had read a few reviews about Bahama Bucks on Yelp and I've been wanting to try it for a while ... We finally made it in! After the first few bites of our shaved ice, we definitely felt like we've been missing out! We ordered the small root beer float shaved ice & the regular passion fruit & mango shaved ice, both topped with cream. I'd say that on the normal day, the small is definitely plenty (might have even gone for the baby size) but the regular is great for an extra treat. I personally liked the passion fruit a little bit better than the mango but the combination definitely worked well together. I think for the one I got, I would've skipped the cream. It was good (definitely didn't take away from the passion fruit & mango flavor) but it wasn't so impressive that I want to pay the extra little bit for it again. When I had ordered, the man working who suggest it had said that with the passion fruit & mango, it could go either way & he was right. As far as the service goes, it was constantly busy but there were quite a few people working so we got our order in & got our shaved ice very quickly. We were offered a punch card as well. Minus one star, however, because when we went to the counter when we first walked in, one of the guys working was rude. He looked highly annoyed when I said that I had never been in and wanted suggestions and actually walked away! In Houston they call finely shaved ice with flavored syrup a snoball. It's not easy to find a good one because most places have a snow cone with small chunks of ice. There's really no comparison, snoballs are much better and what Bahama Buck's has is an amazing snoball. This location has very friendly servers and the service is quick.
