What is there not to love about Bahama Buck's? It's even open on Sundays now! There are so many options for shaved ice here from different sizes to fillings to syrups to the creme on top (which is a must), so everyone will find at least 891564+ combinations that sound good to them. My personal favorite flavors are Root Beer Float, Vanilla, Cherry Coke, Mango...and basically anything else. Seriously, the list goes on! There are even sour flavors, if you're into that. What sets Bahama Buck's apart is how smooth the shaved ice is: it's shaved so finely that it instantly melts in your mouth and you never have to crunch into big pieces of ice like traditional snow cones. This is the perfect treat for a hot day, which is most days around here. What a nice treat! I ordered the strawberry margarita and ice cream cake with sprinkles shaved ice. I decided not to get the additional scoop of ice cream because I thought it would just be too much sugar. After an unacceptable wait in the drive thru, (only one car was ahead of me)...I ordered two Dr Pepper shaved ice. After two spoons, we threw this crap away!! So glad we only got the 8oz cups! excellent shave ice with a dizzying array of flavors available to your liking. it's not quite on the level as the well-known & proven spots i've had in hawai'i but bahama buck's is good shave ice in its own way. i've seen bahama bucks on many trips to vegas but never got a chance to sample their sno offerings. and being that this was my first time in the phoenix area, i had to jump at the chance to go to the gilbert location. i was really glad it was close to my friend's place where i was staying. we went there for our sugar fix after having lunch in downtown gilbert. it was well worth it. i got to treat my friends and their kids, the staff was super nice even though we had about 9 orders and they were awesome to take our coupons. i opted for a regular size which was plenty for me. i went with toasted coconut, mango & strawberry. i just got the regular shave ice. they have an option for having vanilla ice cream on the bottom and tropical cream drizzled as a topping. the texture of the shave ice was good. i consider myself a connoisseur of sorts when it comes to shave ice because i will seek it out whenever i'm in a new town hoping to find something like they had at waiola shave ice on oahu. it's a never ending quest on the mainland. ha! the staff at bb get all the flavor into the bottom of the cup. they do not skimp. i love that... the wait was a little long cause it was a busy day and they have a drive-thru window as well but to me it was worth it. like i said the staff was great especially the girl at the counter that took our many orders. make sure to tip them! i like that they had board games by the counter when you walk in that you can play while inside. we all played HedBanz and that was a lot of fun & laughs. they have the ring game outside by the tables which im sure is good times... probably frustrating too. also thought it was nice than they had sugar free and zero calorie options (whaaa??) as well as smoothies and special orders. there's just so much to choose from. i will definitely be back the next time i'm in town. i'l be getting a large this time. good sno! oh... and i like the color changing spoon. read more

I enjoy going to Bahama Bucks. This one is especially convenient because it has a drive-through. There are a wide variety of flavors and the ice is perfectly shaved. The running joke with our family is with the drive thru the young girls always welcome you the same way every time "welcome to Bahama Buck's I'll be with you in just one minute" literally 3 minutes later it's "what can I get for you" never an apology for the lack of the word drive thru ‍then you pull up and there are only 2 others in the store ‍ but at the same time we laugh every time because it never fails we always have the same experience (I have a few full punch cards)we keep coming back though ‍ no one else has the shaved ice so it is what it is and its employees are teenagers with no time clock in the drive thru like other places so there is no sense of urgency in service, that may be beneficial for customer service....Just a thought. I really do like Bahama Buck's but this location seems to be really bad at making them. I have tried this location enough times to realize that the Chandler location is superior. The problem here is that they put way too much syrup and I can barely eat it. 2 stars because I love Bahama bucks but man, this location seriously messes my order up almost EVERY time. Just went and was talking to my wife about how this happens every time, so I had the girl taking my order repeat it back to me, to which I corrected her that I wanted ALL sour flavors. For the umpteenth time my shaved ice was the flavors I asked for plus one I did NOT and not in sour and my wife's were different flavors than what she ordered. I forgot to mention I wanted a flat top with my size small (usually they put it in a bigger cup and make it flat) but I didn't make a big deal when they gave me my small with a flat top. So the last few times I've been going to this location they messed up my flavor, and I've tried calling them to report this issue but every time I call the line seems to busy. When I went today and ordered my two flavored shaved ice they said at the window a different flavor than I had asked for. I didn't want them to remake it so I just let it go, since it was similar enough. But when I got home there was only one flavor all together, let alone of the two I originally ordered. I know it's not that big of a deal, but it's happened a couple of times and just wish they would do a better job the first time around. Bahama Bucks has something called a mocha java which I imagined to be a coffee flavored shaved ice. It wasn't. It was more like the cup of coffee my grandmother would make for me when I was a child.
