This is a simple, easy place for a sweet treat. The workers do a great job and they're incredibly fast! They were working on our order while we were placing it and we received it right after paying! We haven't been to Bahama Buck's for a while and this one was good there was nobody there. It was empty. We ordered four different items five different items really place was clean. When I went, there was only one other customer inside the store. The store was pretty quiet. There was also only one employee there at the time. It takes a little while for them to churn out the shaved ice since they do it once you've completed making your order. They have neat disposable color changing spoons. The spoons change color based on temperature. They have a shocking amount of toppings in addition to a shocking amount of flavor options. They have so many that it is hard for me to decide and pick. My favorite is the strawberry and tropic crème. The shaved ice at Bahama Buck's is better than the snow cones I have gotten from other places. The snow cones that I get from other places often consist of small chunks of ice with not very much flavor. Usually snow cones from other places end up melting and/or have the flavor end up just on the bottom of the snow cone. Then the top of the snow cone is usually flavorless. I like how Bahama Buck's shaved ice is usually consistently flavored throughout the shaved ice. Their shaved ice is the perfect treat to purchase during the hot summer months. Almost always go to the one in Gilbert by my house but they're not open on Sundays. This one is. We went. There was one couple in front of us. We were getting 5 ices and they are always the same. I had looked at some reviews and thought it could not be that bad. Well, I was wrong. It took forever. There were three people making drinks so you think it would be fast. They made us a regular that was supposed to be a flaptop. Then my wife's was a single syrup only when it was supposed to be two. She even asked. They swore they made it correctly. No they didn't. We go to ours WEEKLY. They also forgot her sugar free creme. They grabbed it back and added it without a word. Then mine came. It also was missing the SF Creme. I told them this. They swore it was on there. If you've ever gotten it, it's drizzled all over the top and inside. So they took it back & added it to the top (there was none inside) and shoved it back towards me while mumbling "anything else I screwed up?" You know. Don't be a douche. Make the drinks right. We had a receipt. Everything was on there. Don't act like we are lying to you. Hire some people who want to hustle and can follow basic directions. The line was terribly long when we left. I finally checked out Bahama Buck's! Shaved ice always hits the spot on a hot Arizona day - especially after a run/adventure out on the trails. I stopped in Saturday after several hours out at South Mountain. They are conveniently located in a strip mall pretty close to the freeway. Plenty of parking! A lot of teenagers and families hanging out here. I had to wait in line for about 5 minutes before I could order (the family ahead of me was very indecisive). Once I ordered though, I got my shaved ice very quickly. I was surprised at the prices. It cost ~$6 for a regular-sized shaved ice with the cream on top. Oooofff. Ice and syrup? $6? As you enter this place you are welcomed by the Hawaiian themed saved ice/ smoothie place. If you love shaved ice this is the best place to go to. I ordered the natural coconut flavor and guava. Somehow I was served only the coconut, not sure if they heard me. The first 5 bites are the best you can have. They are so smooth, melts completely in your mouth and before you know it you are taking more scoops out of the cup. Let me tell you, after you eat half the cup, it turns overpoweringly sweet that you are done with it. Also a whooping 300 calories for a small cup too. I would suggest them to reduce on the sugar. I would definitely recommend this place, especially on hot day. There are so many choices and the girls that work behind the counter will give you a taste of any flavors including the sugar-free varieties. They piled the ice high and the syrups were tasty. In fact, we were able to taste the strawberry regular with the strawberry sugarfree side-by-side. My only comment/suggestion was I was expecting some fresh additives; like on ours we ordered toasted coconut realizing it was an extra squirt of some syrup flavoring, instead of fresh coconut. We read a flyer on our table, that this establishment is a franchise. I have been to a local joint up the road from here where they do use fresh fruit and ingredients. Definitely not the normal Bahama Bucks experience. I don't normally go to this location, but I was in the area. First of all when we walked in we had to wait several minutes before being acknowledged. When we ordered the employee didn't give me a receipt. Then they forgot one of the toppings on our drink. Once we arrived home we also noticed that the "Gummy Bear" shaved ice had very little gummy bears and lacked flavored syrup. We also noticed that the "Sour Patch" shaved ice lacked syrup flavoring and there was no sour patch topping inside (only on top). I normally go to the Bahama Bucks off of Power in Mesa or the one off of Cooper in Gilbert so I can tell that this location in Chandler is not properly managed and doesn't have quality control nor consistency in following the recipe like the other locations. read more

Really great shaved ice. They have a large variety of flavors. I have been to this location twice. The first time I would have given it five stars, service was excellent. They lost a star on my second visit when it seemed like they didn't get the right flavor cherry on my shaved ice. I wanted black cherry not regular cherry. The store was not as clean the second visit, there were sticky spots on the floor from the syrups. I think it depends which group of teenagers are working on any given evening. It is close to Hamilton high school so I imagine the owner hires a lot of teenagers. I will go back though the ice is delicious and I really enjoy the different flavors I've tried. Been going here for several years and love their shaved ice. Stopped by yesterday and the young man working the register had his mask dangling off his chin and not covering his nose. Watched him rub his nose twice with the back of his bare hand. He then used that unwashed hand that rubbed his nose to handle our shaved ice and spoon. Yuck! read more

They over saturated mine which normally wouldn't be an issue but it actually ruined the taste and the ice began to melt quickly because of that. They are discontinuing some flavors like sour grape and sour raspberry so be aware of that if you have a favorite. The staff is very friendly and nice but it's hit or miss with the pouring of the liquid. I've also had the sugar free ice and it's absolutely disgusting and not edible. So gross. Had to throw it away. What a waste of money. Bahama Bucks should scrap the sugar free flavors from the menu until they can find sugar free syrup that is edible. Rita's Italian Ice managed to do it. My other gripe is that they're supposed to be open until 9:30 pm during the week but they were mopping the floors and stacked the chairs an hour beforehand making it seem as if they weren't open. This particular store doesn't seem to be run as well as some as the other locations in the Phoenix suburbs. This location also does not have a drive thru if that's important to you. read more

The hot cocoa smoothie is amazing. The flavors on the ice is very strong and tasty. Shaved ice is not my go to but there are a ton of flavors and my keto diet friends can have this. Sign up for their text club for amazing offers. Each store has their own. You can also sample any flavors before you commit. My favorites are bubble gum, cotton candy (because I'll always be a kid at heart), and watermelon. Their flavors are so flavorful and their ice is finer then a regular snow cone. Definitely our favorite shaved ice place ever. My husband prefers their smoothies though. They even have add ons like sweetened condensed milk which gives it a delicious creamy sweet addition that I love. My daughters always get the princess (pink sugar crystals)sprinkles that I believe are free. They also have board games to play while you're there. Such a cool (pun intended) little spot.
