This place is always so busy!! Fortunately we had reservations Friday. Why is this location closing?? We always enjoy delicious meals here. We always come for dinner. Such a variety from the menu. They even have fried plantains! That is a difficult side to find in Pittsburgh. We ordered from the 2/$25 menu. A linguine dish with chorizo and seafood, coconut shrimp tacos with plantains, a Cuban sandwich, chicken sandwich. All was excellent! A wide selection of beers and we could sample before deciding. They usually have Drew Moniot has musical entertainment on acoustical guitar and it adds to the ambiance of the place. We had an amazing server...Sara. So helpful and friendly! Oh Bahama Breeze no one could ever make me hate you. Since the Bahama Breezes in my state are going extinct me and my homegirl made sure to swing by one or our road trip and it was just as I remember. The happy hour was on point price and offering wise. Back again, for some Caribbean cuisine. A nice atmosphere inside, a varied menu, treating my mom for Mother's Day. Today, I had the rack of ribs, with a side of fries. The Ribs were pretty good, an average amount of meat, not fall off the bone tender, but still pretty good. Covered with a Guava BBQ sauce, which I liked, tasty. A side of fries, a pretty good meal was had. Mom had the Cabana Crunch Chicken Salad. Jerk chicken chilled, sliced and tossed with pineapple, tomato, shaved coconut, almonds, honey-chipotle dressing, spicy coconut-peanut drizzle. We just got off the plane and were starving, and Bahama Breeze had such great reviews. Needless to say, the reviews weren't wrong! The food was delicious and captured the flavors of the Caribbean well. The margaritas were also delicious. We got the margarita flight, and then ended up getting an additional Classic Margarita. The fish tacos and steak salad were both delicious, but the true North Star of this restaurant are the staff. Every single staff member here was so friendly, welcoming, informative, and patient. They truly go above and beyond to make sure you're having a nice meal and experience. Our waitress, Leslie, was especially wonderful. She even packed us a free dessert to take home because it was our first time here. It really makes us want to come back and to recommend this restaurant to everyone we know in the Pittsburgh area! We had a wonderful dinner Saturday night at the bar with a very nice and attentive bartender. The restaurant was packed but the bar was fairly empty so we decided to just sit there. The highlight of lunch was the chicken tostones appetizer and the drinks. Our entrees were lukewarm, like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. I didn't even address this with our server since I didn't want everything just nuked in the microwave. I had the coconut shrimp tacos with which I wasn't the biggest fan of; the fries tasted like they had been reheated several times. My brother had the seafood paella which I tried and liked more than my entree. The frozen bahamarita was the standout here! It's huge, delicious, and even came with an extra shot on the side. We then ordered appetizers for the table of beef empanadas and chips with guacamole. The empanadas were nice and hot and very tasty. The chips and guacamole were nothing special. Maybe 15 chips and a small amount of guacamole which was just ok. After enjoying our appetizers, we ordered our entrees. The menu is fairly extensive, and I settled on a tequila glazed salmon with baked sweet potato and green beans. My food came looking very nice and was hot. The salmon had a nice taste and was topped with a mango salsa. The baked sweet potatoes were good. The green beans were just green beans, nothing special. Service was sporadic. Food was ok. Inside there are tons of booths and tables. The restaurant is very loud, but has a party atmosphere. Service - spotty. Initially our server was attentive. However, once our meal was delivered, she virtually disappeared. Food - average at best. My wife and I were dining with another couple and we wanted to relax and enjoy the evening. So we ordered a couple of appetizers. They ordered the beef empanada app and we ordered the guacamole and chips. The empanadas were very good. The guacamole amounted about a quarter cup and it was bland At my server's recommendation, I ordered the spare ribs. There was barely any meat on the bones and it was stringy. First off, I know this is a chain restaurant and I know chain restaurants typically don't get 5 stars on Yelp. And as a self-proclaimed foodie, I know I'm supposed to turn my nose up at such establishments. However, I'm not an elitist who saves my 5 stars for local fine dining experiences. As for the food, I wouldn't have changed a thing. For appetizers, we got the crab dip and the firecracker shrimp. Both tasty. My wife and daughter ordered the coconut shrimp as a main course and they both thoroughly enjoyed it. I went with the seafood paella which was absolutely yummy. I couldn't believe how much seafood they packed into the dish. Honestly, i think every bite into my mouth had a piece of seafood in it. And it was all good. As we listened to the music, we enjoyed a few cocktails. I got a painkiller, which tasted as good as the ones in the Caribbean. For dessert, my wife and I shared the chocolate island. Terrible service. The waitress not only didn't listen to what my girlfriend ordered, she failed to submit the order in the first place. While this is a chain -- there is something about this place that makes me feel Like vacation time! Maybe it's because the first one I went to was when I was in Austin, TX.. Tonight I met some old friends for dinner here. It's in a busy area so we waited about 20 min for a table. Not bad considering where it's located draws lots of traffic! We had an issue with our habanero wings not being fully cooked through to our liking and they were kind of big but never said anything. The server noticed that we picked through the wings and left the thumbs so she asked us was there something wrong. We told her and she gladly offered to take them off our bill. Food: been here so many times i cannot even recall all the dishes I have had but this time I got the Chicken Cajun Pasta...oh my so much flavor so much pasta, so much chicken! I was so upset when I couldn't finish it because we flew out the next morning so i had to leave it behind. The pasta also came with thin pieces of asparagus which was a good compliment to the pasta. If you love lemonade i would also suggest getting one of there lemonades. I got the raspberry which they bring out in a shaker and shake it up for you at the table. My family has been coming to this Bahama Breeze for many years now and we love their happy hour. It is on Monday - Friday from 4:00PM - 6:00PM and the deals are very good. There is also a late night happy hour, but I am not too sure what the hours are because the website is incorrect. Our favorite appetizer is the Firecracker Shrimp with the sauce on the side. It is always extremely delicious and the whole family loves it. We sat at the bar and the bartender today was so sweet and always made sure our drinks were full and we were satisfied with our food. She was quick to get us whatever we needed. The only thing I was disappointed with was the Tostones with Chicken. They probably made it correct, it just was not for me so I will be sticking with the Firecracker Shrimp. We were greeted when we walked in and told to have a great day when we left.
