Whether it's the cool breeze from the patio with a one man band or the pina colada from the bar or the overall vibes - I have ALWAYS felt the chill energy that makes you wish there was an actual ocean view to make it perfect. I use to dine here as a single girl with my friends and now I visited during happy hour with my husband and kids in tow - times have changed! The service was over the top at my recent visit - the hostess wiped down our high chair and offered a booster seat - this almost never happens which is why we bring our own wipes and we gladly didn't have to use. Our waiter offered to water down our kids' beverages which made our day! It was a small gesture that was thoughtful - another first for us! Sooooooooooo Bahama Breeze was my favorite restaurant years ago when I lived in FL. This was back when I went to college in North FL but my mom lived in S. FL. Visited the Gwinnett County location after a relaxing day at JeJu Sauna and Wellness Spa. It was 5 PM, raining and traffic was horrible. No better time then to go to happy hour at Bahama Breeze. From 4-6 PM, the appetizers are half off and they offer a signature cocktail. It was $2.99 margaritas this night - regular, no flavors so that was the only drawback. We were seated at the fire pit so it was cozy and there wasn't much of a crowd. The servers were busy with tables inside as well. Our hostess didn't provide silverware. Our server didn't have a name tag. The server took longer than usual for our drinks - I had to go up to her at the patio bar to request we put our order in before happy hour ended at 6 PM. Like what was up with that? Food was as expected. Only thing our to-go order came out before our dine in food. The food all came out together for the most part - we had 6 different appetizers since it was half off. Jerk wings, guacamole with chips, jerk shrimp, coconut shrimp, chicken tostones and a house salad. The wings are hearty - full wings that are seasoned well. The shrimp were tasty. The tostone's were tough so I wouldn't order those again. Best to stick to their customer favorites - beef empanadas, conch fritters and spinach dip. Try the rest of the drink menu if the special doesn't work - you can't miss. I will go back to the Kennesaw location for a future happy hour. read more

Took my mom for her birthday last week. Food was delish, and drinks were strong. Started getting tipsy after 1 sip. I had the One Love, which my mom renamed Ten Love because she said I was laughing from being tipsy. I removed a star for that and the fact that the woman up front was a bit dismissive when I went to tell her that it was my mom's bday, and she said they don't give dessert, I'd have to pay for it. The manager did stop by and greet us, but he either didn't know about it, because still no cake. I actually enjoyed this place. I went in not expecting much but it was better than I thought. First off they wipe down the menus which in my opinion is fantastic! The vibe is great dim with some good music. The service was pretty good everything came out hot and pretty quickly. We had the crab dip which was good you could really taste the crab not just cheese. If you like creamy coconut and rum, this is the best drink. The firecracker shrimp was amazing with flavorful spice, not spicy-unbearable-heat. It was about the only dessert that didn't have ice cream and I wanted to eat it later. They provided the raspberry and (I think) passionfruit sauces along with the pie in little individual dishes so I could use it when I wanted to eat it without getting soggy. The pie had meringue instead of whipped cream! I wasn't expecting that and I love meringue! The key lime was creamy and zesty, just right. Great for girls night out, 21+ y/o birthday celebrations, or date night. The drinks are in fun colors, huge glasses, and come with a pineapple shaped container that hangs on the glass rim and holds an extra shot or syrup. Service is exceptional here (shout out to Liz(?) from the bar that had to work as a server that day! You made our night!). Before Corona, they would have live music outside which would only enhance our experience there. Price is best for your buck- I thought I would spend a lot of $$ here but the food is a lot cheaper than most seafood restaurants. Food & Drinks/pricing: My friend and I ordered the Top Sirloin & Coconut Shrimp ($19.99) which comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I love a good mashed potato and the coconut shrimp was great but can be too sweet at times. I wanted my sirloin to be medium well-done, but it came out to be well-done instead. This is not a huge issue for me as I'm not very picky, but our server was so exceptional that I'm sure they would have redone it if I asked! However, I did find the quality of the sirloin to be disappointing. It felt like mashed up beef that was cooked into the shape of a steak. It had a texture similar to a hamburger where it's grainy and not like it's one piece of meat. I didn't find the taste to be terrible, but I did not expect that texture from a steak. For our drinks we started off with a whole bottle of Merlot Dark Horse California ($32) which is described to have "crushed blackberries, toasted oak, and chocolate-covered cherries." We went with this because we wanted a semi-dry wine to go with our steaks. The flavor notes sounded amazing but fell short in reality. The wine was very weak in flavor. It was more of a bitter sensation than a bitter taste is the best way I could describe it. Like if water was bitter, it would be like that. However, the server did let us try a sample before choosing (will probably sample the other 2 next time) so that's on us for not speaking up! My friend got the Ultimate Margarita ($10.79) while I got the Frozen Bahamarita ($7.99). We also asked for extra shots to make it stronger and Liz* kindly did that without any extra charge! Maybe we got lucky cause she normally works at the bar, but our drinks were fantastic, great to look at, and we loved the little pineapple storage cup thing that you can take home! Note: Definitely reserve a table here! Also, specify what table/area you want and they will try their best to work with you! Smoking is allowed outside/ near the side of the restaurant- not sure about the outdoor bar area though, all workers wore masks but I did see some take it off here and there.
