We went this restaurant last night. The food was very bad. The service was good. My rating is towards the food. I don't know what happened to this restaurant. It used to be very good. We have not been there for a while. It must have been around a year ago the last we dine there. My wife and I used to dine there at least twice a month. The waiting time used to be an hour. Parking lot used to be crowded and we used to park very far. Last night, there was no waiting line for seating and there were a lot of spots to park. As matter fact I found a parking spot very close to the entrance of the restaurant. My wife and I were shocked. Sooooooooooo Bahama Breeze was my favorite restaurant years ago when I lived in FL. This was back when I went to college in North FL but my mom lived in S. FL. EVERY TIME I was home from college I had to go to Bahama Breeze. To let you know how much I love this place, I even had my first "legal" drink there! That said, it pains me to give them a 3 star rating. I don't think the food is bad. I now just have a mature palate. Either way, now that my mom has moved to Atlanta I still go to Bahama Breeze every time I'm in town. I do wish they didnt take one of my favorite things off the menu though. The St. Thamas crab legs were just simply amazing! I can't event put it into words. Since that (and some other things) were removed from the menu, the experience just hasn't been the same. All in all, you can't go wrong with the paella, the jerk chicken is still great, the plantains are always delectable and the drinks are undeniable. Tuesday night in July 2020, arrived in Atlanta. Meeting in Norcross the next morning. I assumed there would be few restaurants open past 9:30 PM. Luckily, Duluth and Norcross have a lot to choose from. BB was just across the parking lot. The young lady who checked me in said she loved the place. I experienced my first visit to this restaurant due to family visiting from out of town. I have to say I went there last month when it was still warm. It was a Friday night and we wanted to sit outside on the veranda that they have at this restaurant. I loved it as soon as I saw it. It really makes you think you are on an island and not in Gwinett County. They have a live band with a singer. They were very good. They sing and play and variety of music. They call up anyone with a birthday and honor them with a song and let them dance. It was all in fun. We ordered our food. The jerk wings were so darn good. The drinks were good. I've been coming to this location since my high school days.... I'm currently in my dirty thirties and it is my pleasure to give a review and a huge thank you to one of the first of many Caribbean spots in Gwinnett! The haters may say that they aren't authentic Bahamian food but NEWS FLASH! We are not actually in the Bahamas lol The spot always gave the hint of islands that this island girl who hails from Trinidad needed. Whether it's the cool breeze from the patio with a one man band or the pina colada from the bar or the overall vibes - I have ALWAYS felt the chill energy that makes you wish there was an actual ocean view to make it perfect. I use to dine here as a single girl with my friends and now I visited during happy hour with my husband and kids in tow - times have changed! The service was over the top at my recent visit - the hostess wiped down our high chair and offered a booster seat - this almost never happens which is why we bring our own wipes and we gladly didn't have to use. Our waiter offered to water down our kids' beverages which made our day! It was a small gesture that was thoughtful - another first for us! Our food arrived in record speed and every single item was amazing. To our surprise, we were able to get 50% off appetizers from 4-6pm! We hit the jackpot! A true treat! Full disclosure, I have been to Bahama Breeze several times in past years. However, on this visit, they have added a few new great menu like the Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich, while maintaining the classics like the Firecracker Shrimp. The service was accommodating to our large group and no one was left with complaint. Overall nice dining experience for a reasonable price. My husband and I stopped into the bar tonight for a quick drink (or three) and a bite to eat. As a chain restaurant we weren't expecting a lot, but it was actually a great time. Our bartender was awesome. (Her name is BB!) She was so fun and helpful. The drinks were great (pineapple coconut martini...delicious!) and the food was so much better than I thought it would be. Server was friendly, constantly checked on us and refills were provided. The steak was very tasty. The rice and beans were warm but not fresh. Visited the Gwinnett County location after a relaxing day at JeJu Sauna and Wellness Spa. It was 5 PM, raining and traffic was horrible. No better time then to go to happy hour at Bahama Breeze. From 4-6 PM, the appetizers are half off and they offer a signature cocktail. It was $2.99 margaritas this night - regular, no flavors so that was the only drawback. We were seated at the fire pit so it was cozy and there wasn't much of a crowd. The servers were busy with tables inside as well. Our hostess didn't provide silverware. Our server didn't have a name tag. The server took longer than usual for our drinks - I had to go up to her at the patio bar to request we put our order in before happy hour ended at 6 PM. Like what was up with that? Food was as expected. Only thing our to-go order came out before our dine in food. The food all came out together for the most part - we had 6 different appetizers since it was half off. Jerk wings, guacamole with chips, jerk shrimp, coconut shrimp, chicken tostones and a house salad. The wings are hearty - full wings that are seasoned well. The shrimp were tasty. The tostone's were tough so I wouldn't order those again. Best to stick to their customer favorites - beef empanadas, conch fritters and spinach dip. Try the rest of the drink menu if the special doesn't work - you can't miss. I will go back to the Kennesaw location for a future happy hour. read more

Took my mom for her birthday last week. Food was delish, and drinks were strong. Started getting tipsy after 1 sip. I had the One Love, which my mom renamed Ten Love because she said I was laughing from being tipsy. I love the music but couldn't hear it from where we were sitting, in the room to the right, close to the outdoor deck. I normally sit on the section on the left. I removed a star for that and the fact that the woman up front was a bit dismissive when I went to tell her that it was my mom's bday, and she said they don't give dessert, I'd have to pay for it. I thought that was rude, considering I spent $85 with a generous tip that afternoon. A small piece of cake couldn't have killed anyone. The manager did stop by and greet us, but he either didn't know about it, because still no cake. I removed another star because although the food was good, I feel the whole meal and drinks were too pricey for lunchtime. The waitress was Super nice, though, and very professional. read more

I actually enjoyed this place. I went in not expecting much but it was better than I thought. First off they wipe down the menus which in my opinion is fantastic! The vibe is great dim with some good music. The service was pretty good everything came out hot and pretty quickly. We had the crab dip which was good you could really taste the crab not just cheese. The empanadas with the cilantro sauce so flavorful try it. My husband had the jerk chicken pasta and I ordered the skirt steak churrasco both were enjoyable. Every drink that I ordered was great!!!! We were seated right away and ordered the Calypso shrimp linguine. It was delish and our waitress suggested adding brócoli and mushrooms, which made a difference! I was full...most due to the drinks which were well priced (about $8) for the coconut mojito. I left with a full belly and a great overall experience. I absolutely love Bahama Breeze and I can say with confidence in the years I've been this was the first time I didn't have a great experience. We weren't greeted by either of the 2 hostess, I had to speak to one of the hostess and ask if we could proceed to the bar. We initially ordered strawberry lemonades and they were extremely bitter and we couldn't taste any strawberry so we sent them back and got waters instead. I wish I would've taken photos of the meals but after witnessing a bar attendant frequently touch everything in the bar, grab fruit and make drinks without cleaning their hands that had us on edge enough. My husband got the Braised Short Rib Oxtails with rice and mixed vegetables. His rice was hard and he had to use the knife to cut his (should've been tender) oxtails. I always get the one of 3 dishes lol so I was satisfied at that point. I will say I will still go back. We all have bad days ! read more

Bahama Breeze is one of my favorite restaurants, but on this evening, I decided to try something on the menu I've never had before. I tried the Jerk Chicken Pineapple Bowl. This dish would've been better for me if the green & red peppers and onions weren't so overwhelming. I had to push away the peppers and onions to get to the chicken, rice, and pineapples. My appetizer, Beef Empanadas, was better than my main meal. We had a party of about 12 people, and our waitress was excellent and patient with us on deciding what we wanted. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere. I like dining on the patio when they have a live band. I will come back, and probably stick to the items that I'm familiar with on the menu. read more

Amazing food. I took all the recommendations of my server, Anthony, and he steered me in a very good direction. The drink called Painkiller was amazing. If you like creamy coconut and rum, this is the best drink. The firecracker shrimp was amazing with flavorful spice, not spicy-unbearable-heat. I was going to go with something else but upon Anthony's suggestion, I got the jerk chicken pasta. This dish was a grand slam!!! This chicken. Omg, the best chicken on a pasta dish that I've ever had. The spices were perfection and the moisture level in the chicken was great. How do they do that in a restaurant?!? It has very little asparagus, but I was so mesmerized by the delightful chicken that I didn't mind. The sauce and bow tie pasta did not disappoint. I got key lime pie to go. It was about the only dessert that didn't have ice cream and I wanted to eat it later. They provided the raspberry and (I think) passionfruit sauces along with the pie in little individual dishes so I could use it when I wanted to eat it without getting soggy. The pie had meringue instead of whipped cream! I wasn't expecting that and I love meringue! The key lime was creamy and zesty, just right. The only thing I would say could be better about the pie was that the graham cracker crust was super thick in the corner. But it held up well. Overall I loved everything I ate! read more

Since the social distancing has been implemented, this location has done well to keep social distance between tables so that patrons can enjoy their meal with less worry. Food & Drinks/pricing: My friend and I ordered the Top Sirloin & Coconut Shrimp ($19.99) which comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. I love a good mashed potato and the coconut shrimp was great but can be too sweet at times. I wanted my sirloin to be medium well-done, but it came out to be well-done instead. This is not a huge issue for me as I'm not very picky, but our server was so exceptional that I'm sure they would have redone it if I asked! However, I did find the quality of the sirloin to be disappointing. It felt like mashed up beef that was cooked into the shape of a steak. It had a texture similar to a hamburger where it's grainy and not like it's one piece of meat. I didn't find the taste to be terrible, but I did not expect that texture from a steak. For our drinks we started off with a whole bottle of Merlot Dark Horse California ($32) which is described to have "crushed blackberries, toasted oak, and chocolate-covered cherries." We went with this because we wanted a semi-dry wine to go with our steaks. The flavor notes sounded amazing but fell short in reality. The wine was very weak in flavor. It was more of a bitter sensation than a bitter taste is the best way I could describe it. Like if water was bitter, it would be like that. However, the server did let us try a sample before choosing (will probably sample the other 2 next time) so that's on us for not speaking up! My friend got the Ultimate Margarita ($10.79) while I got the Frozen Bahamarita ($7.99). We also asked for extra shots to make it stronger and Liz* kindly did that without any extra charge! Maybe we got lucky cause she normally works at the bar, but our drinks were fantastic, great to look at, and we loved the little pineapple storage cup thing that you can take home! Note: Definitely reserve a table here! Also, specify what table/area you want and they will try their best to work with you! Smoking is allowed outside/ near the side of the restaurant- not sure about the outdoor bar area though, all workers wore masks but I did see some take it off here and there. I wish I could say this place was amazing because it was the first time we went but that was not the case this time around. Jamaican Jerk chicken wings - I'm not an expertise on jerk chicken but is it suppose to be dry, overcooked, and rubbery? The texture was off and the wings looked nearly black. The flavor was so bland and we could barely finish it. The sauce was the saving grace but even so, it was still terrible. Braised Oxtails - The oxtail meat was chewy, tender, fall right off the bone. We loved the oxtail! The sauce could have used more seasoning, and the same goes for the rice. The green beans were firm and well cooked. Grilled Salmon- Well seasoned on the outside but a tad overcooked. It definitely lacked the flavor and moistness of the salmon flavor. The portion wasn't huge and I couldn't finish it because it was so dry. The broccoli was not fresh and it was noticeable in the texture. As soon as I took a bite, the broccoli melted in my mouth which was weird. It was so mushy so either it was way overdone or it was frozen broccoli being reheated. Our experience was horrible to be honest and we used to love this place so much. I know COVID has affected a lot of businesses but I'm disappointed in the low quality of the food. Bahama Breeze is a very popular chain serving Caribbean and island inspired cuisine. While not quite authentic, the food is pretty delicious. I called in a take-out order ahead of time and it was ready when I arrived. Their take-out stand is in an area near the kitchen separated from the bar. I love when restaurants do this because I'm able to get in and out as quickly as possible. The young lady at the stand was very personable and made sure my order was correct. I ordered a half portion of the habanero wings and a full sized order of calypso shrimp linguine. I was surprised at the serving of the wings because they use to serve them whole, but they were split. They didn't have as much sauce as I'd like, but they were still tasty. The calypso shrimp linguine was delicious! It had generous amounts of seasoned shrimp in a cream based sauce topped with diced tomatoes and green onions. Overall, it's a great location with a fun, Caribbean theme that serves up delicious food and has an extensive menu. The price was fairly reasonable and I had plenty of leftovers. read more
