I cannot believe it has taken us this long to try this place after being in the area quite often. We decided let's give it a try! My goodness the Carmel Chicken Banh Mi was extremely tasty 5/5 starts on flavoring and the daikon pickles to the pate. It tasted so clean and smooth. Absolutely love the chicken they used. I eaten banh mi my entire life and I'm such a picky eater this place has by now my #1 place go for banh mi. I am not a huge fan of dark meat chicken but this place makes it with white meat and I absolutely love that! I inhale my banh mi, I had a moment with it. It's that good! Service has been good, the lady that is always there is always pleasant with a smile. I had to tell her today to let the owner know that their banh mi is the best. Please don't ever change the receipt or the type of chicken please. Must try! Definitely coming back over and over! My fiancé got the chicken bowl and I got the tofu bowl and that's also light, healthy, and refreshing.

I'm from LA and this bahn mi changed my life. Wings are insane too. So crispy with so much flavor, if you love fish sauce def get the wings too. The friendly staff was the cherry on top. Go here! Only outdoor seating but the area is great

Good food. Banh mis are the most authentic I've come by so far in a while. I have noticed 2 variations in food quality, there are probably 2 main chefs, both variations are still really good, but just to note the consistency. I love love love the Fried chicken vermicelli bowl. It's so good and very authentic fish sauce dressing. Service is nice. If it's hot, it's hot inside. It's more of a take out place anyways. Maybe a couple of seats outside.

Saw this on yelp and wanted to try! Service is good but there is very limited space to sit. They have a few tables and chairs outside but they are small. Got the chicken vermicelli bowl, chicken salad, and the traditional bahn mi. They are all so yummy and not the traditional flavors you usually taste in vietnamese food but it was all so so good! The chumichurri sauce in the bowl was such a cool addition and the crispy rice in the salad made it more crunchy. The bread in the bahn mi was fresh and yum! We sat at the park nearby so recommend bringing a picnic blanket and take this togo The only meh part is it's expensive for their food

Classic Bahn Mi insides include pate, thinly sliced pork, Mayo, pickled veg and lots and lots of sliced jalapeños

Excellent take-away only Vietnamese bánh mi sandwich spot. The menu was street-food inspired and developed by two chefs at local favorite, Village Sake, and the small take out spot is now run by another partner. The bahn mi sandwiches here are a stand out. I got the bánh mi classic, with pate, pickled vegetables, and meat. The ingredients are excellent down to the very fresh French baguette. In addition to sandwiches, they have Vermicelli bowls and a limited (just three flavors) menu of milk teas, along with bahn cam (fried sesame balls with mung beans.). They have a curried tofu bánh mi and bun, with a lot of flavor for tofu, for those with a veggie preference. Very simple menu, no seating and take away only. Open Wednesday to Sunday, eleven am until 6 pm.

Stumbled upon this place running an errand and loved the salad! Friendly helpful staff and want to return to check out more of the menu!

Growing up we used to hike from the cascades up split rock and do backflips into a swimming hole up there. The fuel for more, that was always a sandwich wrapped tightly in paper--in our backpacks. This banh mi reminds me of those times. Vivid, delicious, never dull. Chicken Salad. From what I've tried off the menu so far for me, this is the grail. Texture is just running gambols on your tongue. Smoked almonds, crispy rice, the different greens, caramel chicken. Add sliced jalapeno. It's just bomb man.

Excellent Banh mi and noodle bowls in the heart of Marin. I'm so happy to have this little gem on the other side of the bridge.

Killer Bahn Mi with a Korean twist. Their fried chicken sandwich is the bomb. Not much seating, but big on flavor!

Very friendly staff, easy-going, and welcoming. Great prices for large portions. I enjoy the various vegetarian options. Not great ambience but solid food at a great price and nice portions. Everything's available to go or for pick up as well. A well run smooth operation, and you get your food in a hurry. Always hot and delicious. A perfect spot to get some grub before or after Trader Joe's shopping! This is the real deal, take it from my wife as she too is the real deal. I got their #25 which was a large bowl of noodles with spicy broth, Shrimp Cakes and Spring Rolls. The Shrimp Cakes and Spring Rolls were Ok, The Spicy noodles were good, spice level and flavor was good and warmed me up, was exactly what I needed for a cold night. Overall the food was decent. My only knock on the place was no public bathrooms and the inside wasn't really nice. I will go back in the future. to try other dishes.

I was served quite an amazing bowl of pho today…read more I wanted to try the pho at Golden Era for a while now, but never made it there until today due to various reasons. Since I had to get my watch fixed across the street from the restaurant at Gold Rush Jewelry today, I had decided to do my foodie thing and see if I have been missing out. My review here is strictly related to the pho that I had today. As long as the restaurant location was clean (and it certainly was), the food makes no difference to me whether I was served at the restaurant or the WH with the whole place painted in gold. Also I do make my own pho broth (aka liquid gold) at home, so I am all about searching for a different impressive interpretation. Back to the food, I took a picture of my bowl of pho as soon as it was served at my table, and I immediately tasted the soup before anything else was added to it. The soup was perfectly balanced both spices and seasoning wise and the temperature was just right. Then I added basil, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lemon juice to my pho, as nothing else was needed to alter or masking the original taste of the slowly simmered broth. There was no need to insult the broth (or the broth chef) by adding hoisin sauce and fake stuff to it. I truly enjoy the style of the beef served. The beef pieces are very tender, not like the rare beef slices that most Vietnamese restaurants offer. Also I cannot say enough good things about the ribs that came with my pho order. Overall it was a very satisfying bowl of pho to me. There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there with their own interpretations of pho broth in terms if the use if spices, seasonings, and bone to water ratios in make the all day all night long slow simmering broth. Also, northern style and southern style pho are quite different from each other by taste and composition. There is nothing wrong with most of these other Vietnamese restaurants and their own interpretations , however I found the pho that I had today at Golden Era very agreeable with what I am looking for in terms of "balance". Some spices might smell great if a lot of it is used, but could create a noticeable unpleasant taste and even an irritation reaction to the throat. This is why I believe Golden Era is a winner with the pho game. I have a photo of a fully finished bowl to proof it. I will definitely return to Golden Era again. Will see if their quality control is consistent enough to build a regular customer base. Other factors to consider: they do have a clean and tidy looking kitchen, but from the front end of the restaurant to the kitchen is about 30 plus steps; the restaurant was operated by a grandma and grandpa only when I was there at 11:30 am, they were very nice and doing the best that they could... please be kind to these folks.

We had shrimp fried rice, beef rib pho and short ribs. Favor was great! Their sauce was amazing.read more
