Ordered a potato and spinach knish which is supposed to be a doughy/croissanty pastry with a savoury filling. Felt like I bit into a day's old pie. Wont recommend this item. Customer service can be enhanced as well

I had not heard of Montreal style bagels until I came across this place. The shop is pretty small and there was a line when we went in but it went pretty quick. These woodfired bagels are delicious. I decided to stick with a plain bagel with some cream cheese. The cream cheese was really good and you could tell it was fresh or at least not store bought. And the bagel was nice and a little crunchy. I ended up getting half a dozen to bring back home!

It's just okay. I would say it's average. The workers were very nice, polite, and attentive. The bagels are not it. I had an everything bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagel tasted like seasame, that's it, and the cream cheese tasted a little tangy, not creamy. The egg sandwich was blah. The texture was hard, crunchy not soft chewy. They had a cute table to sit at outside. Would I recommend this place or come back? Naaa Just my honest review.

Very good, slightly sweet wood fired bagels. The cream cheese is tangy and if not homemade, is not Kraft or another big brand. Lox bagel was not overly filled, but was a good ratio of fish to bagel and was a very good price. Friendly service.

We took a lovely walk up to Queen Street and across on a warm sunny afternoon. Growing in popularity by the day, Bagels on Fire is a relatively simple bakery that is laser focused on delivering an exceptional bagel experience. The first thing you notice is a grang hearth in which the bagels are made, with several offerings of Monteal and New York style bagel. For about $3.00 each you can get a terrific bagel with your choice of cream cheese. Trying to watch my carbs, I made a exception this one time! When you walk along Queen, you really can appreciate the small businesses and folks struggling during COVID-19. Today, some were boarded up. You can really appreciate what Bagels on Fire and others' in the area experience eveyday. Dont forget to grab a dozen when your in the area! Zuk

I would probably love this place more if it weren't for Nu Bügel nearby in Kensington with their boiled bagels that pack a punch. Bagels on Fire has been doing a good business on Queen West, as it fills a niche, which is that there isn't any place like it nearby. Around the corner on Spadina there's another bagel spot, but for Queen St. this is it. I buy their bagels occasionally, and they have a good deal on day-old bags of random bagels for around $7 which is good. Their bagels are different than Nu Bügel in that they are lighter, fluffier, less substantial, lack the intensity, but do hit the spot. They also have bagel twists which I haven't tried but remind me of a pretzel. One thing that is very impressive here is the selection of cream cheese to go with. There are so many! Something to explore if this is your passion. As far as Montreal style, etc., I don't know one from the other, so can't help with the nuances of what compares to what and "you gotta be in some other city to get a good bagel" or whatever. I do know that these are good bagels and worth stopping in. The other aspect is that their hours are good and often when I walk down Queen St., there is a crowd outside waiting to get their fix, when nothing else is open. I haven't tried their prepared sandwiches, maybe that's the attraction. So that has to say something about their service and their product.

By far the best bagels I've ever had in Toronto! Everything and pumpernickel are my favourites. Excellent cream cheese as well. Highly recommended. Five stars.

Perfect quick bagel for on the way to work or as a snack! Montreal style -make sure you eat right away or it's not the same! So many toppings but I always get the everything. Less pricey than What a Bagel and right on Queen Street. Lovely mom and pop shop. Get them while they're piping hot!

Come here for the fresh bagels, you can see them baking in the morning. They have a good variety and some unique options such as coconut ! These ones seem less doughy and more chewy which can be a positive or negative pending your preferences. Overall, prices are fair and food is fresh so give it a try!

The bagels here were fresh and pretty tasty. We were a bit bummed some flavors were not in stock that we wanted to try. Service was average.

We'd only ever had New York style bagels previously, so I was eager to try the Montreal style I'd heard so much about.

There is a large network of below-ground corridors and shops accessible from the business complex at 120 W Adelaide. Take the escalator down and follow the signs towards the food court. Bagel & Co shares a large, bright, clean, albeit slightly noisy food court with several other food counters. The bagels are decent, considering they are clearly not baked on site, and they have a much smaller selection than I would expect from a proper bagel shop: I saw plain, sesame, rye, and cheese. I also saw some bags of either poppyseed or everything bagels, but it wasn't clear if those were available for sandwiches or only to be bought by the half-dozen in the bags. I had the All Canadian, which is tuna and bacon with chive spread. It also comes with shredded lettuce and with red onion; I had avoided the smoked salmon bagel (the New Yorker) because I was going to a meeting after and didn't want to smell like onions, so it was a bit frustrating to have passed over the likely better sandwich and still get onion breath. lol. The All Canadian was underwhelming: very average to slightly dry tuna salad, and I had to open it up to confirm it contained a minuscule amount of bacon. If you're looking for an average tuna & onion sandwich, the All Canadian here is a fair option. Again, bagel quality was better than I would expect for a restaurant selling bagels that were clearly baked off site earlier today or yesterday. Choice of both bagels and schmears was limited. It's challenging to find for a newcomer but probably very easy for a local.

My fav thing to order is the all dressed bagel with the spinach light cream cheese. The old owners used to be more generous with the cream cheese...it would ooze out when you tried to eat it. The new owners are more stingy with the cream cheese and the bagels arent fully toasted. I got one today and it looks that i need to ask for double toasted next time. Their coffee is ok, they provide brown sugar which is a bonus. I generally go to the second cup next door because the coffe is stronger, but albeit more expensive. They also have a loyalty card but I never bothered with that since I don't go there that often. If you have a craving for bagel with cream cheese, this is the place to go. The bagels are generally fresh and the cream cheese is of good quality. My cream cheese bael cost $2.57 tax included which is not a bad deal.

But still, this is an exciting place to explore. One of my favorite shops was Mike's Fish Market, which had an incredible variety of smoked fish on display. I was especially attracted to the smoked artic char, but at $50/pound? Even in Canadian dollars, that was intimidating. Oh well, I thought, I will just content myself with a bagel and lox from St Urbain - all the reviews I had read raved about it. So I got in the very long line, and waited and waited and despaired. If you are like me, after a while you start to feel the indignity. Then I had a brilliant idea. I went back to Mike's and asked for four slices of artic char. The price: $8 and change. Then I went to one of the bakeries and bought a Montreal bagel for 0.98c. I found a place at one of the group tables, and made my own bagel and lox! It came to about the same price as I would have paid at St Urbain's, and, although it did not come with the fixings, I had the premium fish I had been lusting after. I am a bit of a purist when it comes to smoked fish - who would want to murder its taste with cream cheese anyway?
