Bagels-4-U - Halloween Cookies - Bagels Near Me - Raritan, New Jersey

Excellent bagel shop with a huge selection of fresh bagels, , coffees, spreads and smoothies. They also have Bialy's as well as Flagels. Egg sandwiches are thick and tasty. Several coffee flavors of the day are just as good. Their hazelnut blend is one of the best. Several cookie options are offered. The large black & white looked way better than it tasted. The icing was very sweet with no distinct flavor. The cookie portion lacked flavor and was very dry. Not recommended. Plenty of staff to accommodate busy mornings. Several booths for in store eating however, no washroom is available. They have a great variety of frozen bagels sold in half dozen bags for $4 (.66 per bagel). Per bagel price is $1.60. Plenty easy parking read more

Our go to bagel place. Their frozen bagels are a great deal and defrost just fine. Unfortunately they almost never have frozen plain. It's what you would want in a NJ/NY bagel operation. Slightly slower than in actual NYC. But the bagels are properly firm and have been boiled. read more

Man I love their bagels so much. Easily my favorite bagel I've had. But holy shit does the service suck. Never order online. You'll go to pick it up and it won't be ready and they'll still have you wait in line. Happened twice Other than the service the bagels and cream cheeses are outstanding read more

$11 for a sausage egg and cheese, bagel is stale and dry, whole thing fell apart after 1 bite. No napkins in the bag, took 15 minutes for them to make. Staff could not be less interested in interacting with the customers. No pickup line for food. No parking read more

I know prices have gone up a ton but I feel like this place is potentially price catching. I had ordered two Taylor Ham egg and cheese sandwiches on bagels and my jaw Hit the floor when I was asked to pay $18. I could tell the staff was uneasy when I questioned the price It seemed like they also felt it was gratuitous. My initial reaction was oh I only got the two breakfast sandwiches, which she sheepishly replied that is the price for the two breakfast sandwiches. Now I can own that I probably should have asked about price, or figured it out on the board before ordering which was on me. Part of that was every other place I go and order that the sandwiches are between 5 and $6 so that's on me for assuming it would be within 10% of that. However I feel like most people would be astounded by that price, you can decide that for yourself. As for the sandwiches themselves, I do not feel they are worth a $9 price tag, however if we take price out of the equation. I do think they were good breakfast sandwiches. Now breakfast sandwiches are not a high bar but there are some certain things you look for crispy meat well cooked egg and a good texture on the bagel. The sandwiches did have those qualities so I would say I would consider them a good sandwich. Whether or not I would recommend this place, would solely depend on your own budget if you have the discretionary income to afford breakfast sandwiches at this price then by all means. Before those who have to be more budget conscious, you may want to think about the cost and coming here. read more

Listen, I want all the New Jersey-ans to hear me out. With how busy we all are in Central Jersey there comes a time where we need to settle down and enjoy the simplicity of time. Why I said this? It's because it WILL take a while for your order. But when you bite into a toasted everything bagel with Taylor Ham, a toasted hashbrown, sausage egg and cheese; the anxiety melts away. If you are in a rush, do not go in line. Please call ahead and order. But every once in a while we need to wait for something that's worth it. And let me tell you, this place is WORTH IT. I have been coming here since I was in high school. Best blueberry bagel I have ever had in my life. This is an amazing place. read more

Delicious breakfast spot. Called the order in ahead of time and it was ready within 15 minutes. (Needed to prepay over the phone so something to keep in mind) The Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel was hot and delicious. (About $10 at the time) highly recommend! read more

I always come here when I visit my friends in Somerville. This Bagels 4 u can get a long line sometimes on the weekend mornings. They have a good group working behind the counter to take and prepare your order, and they always get it right even if it's a large order!! I don't think the bagels are that great or anything. But they do the job for what it is. The cinnamon and walnut raisin cream cheeses are good. The egg bagels suck. And the French toast bagels are actually just cinnamon swirls. And pumpkin cream cheese is gross. No bathroom in this place, that I know of. read more

This spot is always busy even on weekdays! The bagels here are good, sometimes I feel like they're thinner or smaller than others like Kettleman's or Gabe's. The everything bagel sometimes feels like the spice isn't distributed evenly as one side will just look like a plain bagel. This isn't my go-to spot always as there is also a wait and it takes a while but if I need to go somewhere nearby or dropping/picking up my dry cleaning, I'll go here. read more

Visiting home, and needed a place to get my bagel fix. This place hit the spot. Fresh, warm bagels with perfect texture. The nova spread was very generous in terms of how much they put on, and also the amount of salmon in the cream cheese was great. Black & white cookies are giant and reasonably priced. I feel like if you get a bagel with spread, it's a better price than any of the bagel-egg sandwiches. Line also moves quickly. read more

I love this establishment. EVERYTIME we come and visit our Daughter and her family in RARITAN I always come here. The selection is large and the quality is excellent. Usually there's always a line, which supports the high rating I give it. They load it with cream cheese if you wish, and the coffee is very tasty. Highly recommend it read more

I ordered the Sausage Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel, and holy filling! Never have I had two eggs when ordering a breakfast sandwich so be advised this is filling! The eggs were cooked perfectly (just a little runny) and the sausage was good as well. The Bagels are a bit tough on the outside, and soft on the dough which is my preference. The only thing to be aware of is there's a lot of cheese too which overtakes the flavor. In the future, I'll ask for less cheese. I do agree with others it is a bit slow. We waited about 5-10 min and we were the only ones in the store at the time. read more

While back in NJ for a visit, I had to stop by my favorite bagel place in my old neighborhood and it didn't disappoint! These bagels are legit. Got my favorite, a poppyseed bagel with veggie schmear; from the first bite, I was oohing and aaaahing out loud! It's true people, NY and NJ bagels are that good! The best, no comparison. In Portland, OR, where I live there are some shops that boil, bake and hand-roll to produce a great product. Maybe it's the water or some other magic, NY and NJ bagels are next level. I was there at 10:00 am on a weekday so there were only a few people in line ahead of me. I amused myself by checking out and taking pictures of the ginormous black and white cookies, and a pumpkin and heart variety which were adorable. The muffins were huge, definitely big enough to share. The inside of the store looked festive with garlands of autumn leaves adorning the case. The bagel bins were full, work area clean and totally visible from where you order. Lots of schmears to choose from: chopped nova salmon, walnut raisin scallion, veggie, raspberry, and plain. Lots of sandwich fixings like tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, turkey, ham, roast beef and different cheeses. They even make breakfast bagels with eggs, sausage or bacon. And the classic NJ breakfast, taylor ham and cheese with or without an egg, always satisfying. The workers were polite, they work hard, and do their best to get people in and out. Don't complain about the line! It exists because the bagels are good, so know that going in. See you next time I'm in Jersey! read more

So I stopped for a bagel here at this place because this is one of the places that came up on Google Maps since I'm not from this area so I decided to give it a try I ordered a everything bagel and unfortunately everything wasn't on it they're real cheap with the seasoning of the bagels and considering they're charging a crazy expensive price of $3.04 with tax considering that in Manhattan where everything is overpriced and yet I can get a bagel in NYC for $2.50 or less and they aren't cheap with the seasoning! I'm very disappointed with this place and oh yeah they drown it in butter which is nasty so to the owner I say stop ripping customers off with your overpriced food and stop being cheap!! Oh also they don't have rolls so forget about get eggs on a roll SMH ‍ read more

I'm back in the area so I went this place which was always good , first day bought a Taylor ham on a cream cheese bagel Price $8.98 wow ! Ok second day same sandwich added a egg & cheese lettuce tomato on croissant$18.98 and a bottle water wow I thought it was a bit high , the older lady always very nice she's a little on the bigger side but as pleasant as can be always was nice then there's this little lady small not very customer friendly I get it tough job but I worked in restaurants my whole life if I acted like I did not like my job and was not friendly I would of been fired . Just because they are spanish speaking it doesn't give you a license to be rude . Let me begin I gave the order she had to write it up twice and scoffed the little lady there then shows the bagel to me she toasted which was burnt do I want this I said no she said but u said toasted I said yes but not burnt she throws that away and makes a new one . Now why would she of asked she asked cause she saw me watching. They are Too busy there they don't do that as what I see in the two days I been there long lines . Ok get the sandwiches leave check in my car they messed up no cheese on the sandwich go back in she says she put it on I didn't even begin to debate I just said I paid for cheese can u put it on she check the sandwich she said sorry put it on now I go home the eggs were cold and runny when I took a bite and swallow I hope I don't get sick eggs were not cooked well at all the sandwich was a soggy mess . I give one star cause the other sandwich was fine but at these prices I want my sandwich perfect, I'll even put up with a scoff and tone if the sandwich is worth it ! But I will go to kettlemans it's a back up half way around the circle pass bye bye baby stay straight on 28 in the mall about 10 minutes up the road in the little plaza I will drive the extra for delicious food there nice tables inside everything fresh the help are super nice ! read more

Bagels-4-U is an okay bagel spot. Definitely not the best new york bagel I love but it does the job. I got an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese on it and I do have to say the cream cheese was really good. The bagel itself though was burnt and hard even though I ate it like 15 minutes after they made it. I also was really disappointed with my iced vanilla latte. I was so confused when I saw the lady making my bagel get the blender out for it! Turned out she dumped a bunch of heavy cream and sugar into the blender and basically made me a frappuccino. Definitely not what I ordered or wanted to drink at 9 in the morning. Next time I'm in the area, I'll opt to try a different spot for my morning bagel. This isn't a bad one, just maybe not the best one! read more

Bagels-4-U is pretty decent. I must say there is always a line when I come here so getting your order takes a little bit of time. I am usually pleased with my orders here but recently ordered an egg bagel with scallion cream cheese (pictured) and was very disappointed in the egg bagel. The texture and taste of the bagel were completely wrong. Besides this one issue, I have always had a generally positive experience at Bagels-4-U. read more

If you're looking for a nice well seasoned toasted bagel with a good cream cheese to bagel ratio, and a good homey ambiance, this is NOT the place for you. I don't think they've had a working toaster in this establishment since 1992. Coincidentally, that is probably the last time they renovated or cleaned the floors. I have YET to get a toasted bagel in the three times I've been there despite reiterating the instruction. The bagel are good in comparison to Dunkin' Donuts but that's not saying much. You can count the seeds on their everything bagels using one hand (please refer to the image below). And then you have to swim through an ocean of cream cheese to actually figure out if the bagel is any good. The prices are different every time you go even if you order the same thing. Last week my order was $18, this week it's $13, week before that was $11. The staff is atrocious. The minute you ask about the price difference or discrepancy they forget english completely. Better yet, I dare you to ask about the price discrepancy one time and go back there again. Because every time you go they'll talk about you in Spanish to their colleagues. All in all, you're better off going to ShopRite down the street, buying the bagel and the cream cheese, and making it at home to save yourself a mortgage payment and heartache. Note: image below of a whole-wheat everything bagel with 9 sesame seeds, 11 poppy seeds, and 4 pieces of toasted garlic. You are welcome for this review. They have the best bagels around however they are very slow very very slow I'm not sure what it is. They do seem a bit short staffed at this time however even when they were fully staffed they were very slow. It takes a long time to get in and out. We survived the line at Bagels-4-U! The Saturday-morning rush involved a lot of people interested in their warm breakfast sandwiches (including the new boom boom), but we just wanted a raspberry bagel with cream cheese (novel sounding but not amazing, just good) and a half dozen bagels to go. Very friendly staff, even at 5:45 in the morning! Easy to get to from the Raritan train station after a passenger drop-off. And no lines on these early weekday mornings. Great fresh bagel selection (and at that time in the morning still hot!) along with a variety of cream cheese flavors to match. The whole place is squeaky clean. There are tables for dining in, but the lighting (harsh florescent) makes them not so inviting. I do takeout on my visits. Favorite is the jalapeno bagel - be sure to give that one a try for a savory morning start. Pumpernickel isn't a bad choice either, especially with the cinnamon walnut cream cheese. read more

My favorite bagels in the area, they are usually hot and there is always a large variety to choose from. I often times just get a few to go because they are so good that they really don't need anything on them but if the hangover is real then I'll be ordering a breakfast sandwich. The line moves quickly so don't be discouraged if you walk in an immediately step into a 15 person line. Let me explain please. The bagels are very good. The workers are very nice and hard working! This is NOT about the quality of the food or the workers. The problem is that EVERY FREAKING TIME I COME HERE ON THE WEEKEND, THE LINE IS "OUT THE DOOR!!!!" This is Raritan people, NOT Manhattan. How can you make people wait 30 min just to order a bagel?! When I tried to call to order take out, they won't do this. I saw at LEAST a dozen people walk in and then left angry that the wait was too long. I should have ran the F$@K out of there myself, but I was hungry, af. Does the management NOT want to make more money? read more

Been here a few times now. I always go back to something very important my GF once said...."I like my bagels like my butts, big and squishy, big and squishy"...This mantra is played out well at Bagels 4 U. The bagels are big, warm, soft, and delectable. They have lots of options as far as bagels go (some not seen at other reputable competitors) and spreads, holy cream cheese options, batman. I typically go with an everything, choice of meat, egg and cheese...its a beautiful mess. Great service, all the women there (literally only women) are very warm and welcoming. However, if you don't get there at the right time you have to be willing to wait as the place gets packed (a token to how good it is and not reflected via yelp activity). So that is your fair warning, don't go and get all upset about it if it takes a while, you know what you're getting into...Unless you don't care for the food then yea, not worth the wait no matter what it is...BUT who doesn't like big squishy bagels.... I know some people don't like the word 'squishy' (I actually quite enjoy it) I hope my overuse of the word hasn't turned you off from trying out Bagels 4 U! Get over there, try it, yelp about it! read more

My Son went there and ordered 2 sandwiches, then when a worker is ready to ring him up, decided to add 2 more sandwiches. She rolled her eyes and looked like "are you serious to add more". I don't see a big deal in adding a couple more orders, its business for them, and he is really just the customer there at that time. The worker rolled her eyes, then started talking to her co workers in Spanish then started laughing. I think it is rude and disrespectful. When my son asked for the manager and the number, she said no manager and no number. Very ruse and disrespectful. I told my son to just walk away and forget about the orders, instead, he said, they made it already and I will pay for it. They should learn more of customer service.
