Bagels are good here. It did take quite a while for our order of two bagels with cream cheese to be completed, they were quite busy but still was a long time. Bagels had a nice "chew" to them and were not to bread like. There was a generous amount of cream cheese on our bagels. read more

Went in to place order. Woman read order back to me and everything was correct. Get home 15 minutes, unload kids, walk in house. 4/7 bagels are wrong. Why read it back to me if you're not going to make it correctly? Do I need to go behind the counter to supervise? Called, and the woman said the only way to get a refund is to bring the sandwiches back (another 15 minutes), I explained how with kids that would be very difficult plus it was snowing. She said manager would call the following day. It has been one week and the manager has not called me and is never in when I call. Excellent experience! Talk about fast service It was a bit crowded but the ordering process was smooth and easy. I ordered my usual, chicken cutlet on a roll with lettuce, onions, oil and vinegar and mayo of course (if your gonna go for it, go for it!). My friend ordered 2 BECs on a roll. Our wait time was less than 5 minutes and the food was De-Licious! Probably the best chicken cutlet sandwich I have had in a long time. The BECs were fresh and well executed too. Such a staple breakfast place for me. Always a nice quick stop. Today I went in and got two salt bagels toasted with cream cheese and an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. I feel they put way to much cream cheese, but that is me personally because I know my brother really appreciates the generous helping of cream cheese. I usually just whip some off. The bagels are always toasted perfectly. Also I have found they are unevenly seasoned. I know for the salt usually one side is covered in salt and the other side is bare. It would be more appealing if the salt was evenly disbursed. Also, the ordering/paying situation is a bit confusing. Depending on what you get, you pay right away or after the food is given to you. The bagels are good, but the staff is rude and the business does not respect its customers. My friends and I used to be regulars but the staff became more and more curt. Then I went in a few days ago and placed my order. The the bill was rung up and the amount was incorrect. (It was 10 cents over the posted price on the menu boards hanging over the counter.) when I questioned this, the counter person, pointed at the receipt and said, "read it." Confused at this non-response, I said, "what." she raised her voice and said "read it!" The receipt read, "we reserve to change the price without notice." I pointed at the menu board and the price it stated and she said, "we have not had time to change it, and i was instructed to tell any person who complained to read the receipt. " I replied, "so if the menu says $3.00 and I order you can then demand that I pay $10." She said, "yes, you pay what we say." I paid the bill, including the 10 cents, and told them I would never return. My friends and I were there at least twice a week. Never again. It's not about the 10 cents. One word: BUTTER - meaning...I love their cookies! They cost just over a buck but are definitely worth the price. Chewy, dense, and massive - my kinda cookie. I also love their NY crumb cake. Delicious bagels. Great variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The Classic Lox bagel is my go-to here, and I have never once been disappointed. The staff is super friendly, and always polite which is a plus. If something is wrong with your order they quickly make things right. I also enjoy the ice coffee. Only downside? I could be biased because my family owns this chain but.... I'll act like a normal citizen because IT IS THAT GOOD. 100%, the BEST bagels you will ever have. Always warm and fresh, crispy on the outside. THE EVERYTHING BAGELS are to die for. Never mind their breakfast sandwiches.. I can't explain it. Since I have moved away not even a gourmet deli in NYC can compare. What I would do for a Sausage Egg & Cheese on an everything bagel right now.... Their lunch deli is also extremely fresh and it seems even a normal sandwich is that much better on one of their bagels. I can also speak to the fact that at the end of the day, all bagels are given away to a church or to family. They NEVER re-use bagels for the next day... a perk that I have also come to love being in the family. It is ALWAYS fresh- as they are there at 3am (or earlier) baking them for that day. The food is great but they never pick up their phone during busy hours. It's 1pm on Saturday and I called over 10 times to pre order. I walk in and call and watch them ignore the phone. While passing through town on a road trip, my husband and I stopped here for breakfast since it was a few minutes from our hotel. The storefront is easy to find/spot from the road. There's plenty of parking. It was around 10:30AM on a Monday morning and there was a pretty significant line, but it moved quickly. The staff was courteous in taking our order. My husband chose a bacon, egg & cheese on an onion bagel. I ordered an onion bagel with cream cheese. The bagels were absolutely delicious, like nothing I've ever come across at home in Philadelphia. I guess based on previous reviews the bagels must have been really fresh, but if I lived in the area I would happily wait on new batches if it meant getting the quality of product we received that morning. There were plenty of onions caramelized on and baked into the bagels. My selection was loaded with a generous amount of plain cream cheese (never have I ever seen so many options for spreads so I went with the plain because I didn't want to hold them up). The bacon on my husband's sandwich was crisp, but definitely not overcooked. The egg was fresh, not a slice-to-order or frozen slab of egg-like product. We've been on the road for almost a week now and every bagel shop we stop in is a poor substitute for Bagelman. We're still looking for a place to beat it, but I don't think it's going to happen! read more

I've lived in Danbury my entire life and have traveled all over and Bagelman bagels are still THE best bagels I have ever had. My mouth is watering at the thought of them. I usually go to the one on Padanaram and when I was little, my parents would always stop there after church to get a huge bag of bagels and Bagelman cream cheese. The bagels are always fresh and warm, perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They also freeze and reheat very well. Their cream cheese, in my opinion, is out of this world and they have many flavors. The coffee is always really good too, both hot and iced. I've only had their deli items once or twice, only because I cannot not get a bagel if I go. Seriously if you're looking for a great bagel in the Greater Danbury area, this is the place to go! This is close to my house but for some reason this was the first time I had stopped in. Good, attentive service. Waited on right away, and it was pretty busy for 10:30 a.m. or so. Plenty of selection, whether you wanted a bagel or pastry. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a toasted sesame seed bagel. Easy enough, but I've had plenty of these from other places where the egg yolk was over-cooked, or under-cooked. This was just right. Fresh and hot. The bagel was fresh -- doughy and tasty. A few weeks ago , we did order, and when we got there a very pleasant young women brought our order to our car. We are in tough lockdown and this was the only place that refused to do curbside. Generic bagel place in the greater New York area. Unfortunately, the bagels here aren't the best. The are very light - almost crispy on the outside and very fluffy in the middle. As a result the bagels are just not as dense as you'd expect. So I was still hungry after eating one bagel. By far the best bagels in the area. I'm from Ridgefield and drive 15 minutes just to get a sesame bagel with scallion scream cheese, and my favorite... An iced coffee! The bagels are always fresh and soft. The spreads are incredible as well. Very busy on weekends, but worth the wait for sure. read more

The food here is ok but that's about it. I only go to here because it's location is convenient for me. The service is slow, it can take up to half an hour to get just a bagel w/cream cheese. The cashiers run around like chickens with their heads cutoff and frequently screw up orders. Their process to take and transfer orders to the people who fill them then get the right order to the right person needs to be changed. There are other locations, I suggest going to those shops or finding another restaurant. read more
