The class size was about 8-10 of us, a nice mix of people like me who were new to the sourdough adventure, and some more experienced. The class was $200. The different stages of starter development, proofing, fermentation, shaping and baking were demonstrated. At the end, you get a container of starter and a loaf to take home. For a new sourdough baker, I wish there was more hands on so you feel the textures of the dough.

The garlic sourdough was filled with whole garlic gloves baked in with a nice chewy outside crust and soft inside. The country sourdough was equally amazing. Both great for dipping, sandwiches, toast, or simply spreading with a good quality butter or jam. There are no preservatives or artificial ingredients and all is made by hand. I am a fan of the pandan flavor desserts and bought two that I wanted to try. One being a roll cake and the other layer cake. The pandan roll cake with taro I was told is a specialty that they only have on weekends. It was really flavorful, moist and spongy, just perfectly touched with a dash of sweetness in both the cake and the cream - I personally don't like overly sweet foods, and this is just perfect for me and my mom. I'm equally pleased with the layer cake as well it was very fresh and have that "QQ" texture - deliciously chewy and bouncy. This too, just hit right for me on the gentle sweetness, the pandan flavor keeping the spotlight in this dessert. My mom and I are big fans of these desserts. We just came back trying out others pandan layer cakes in Downtown Flushing and this shop beats them by a large margin. The movie received an 80% and 75% approval rating respectfully. After the movie, we stopped by the Paris Baguerre which is only five minutes away. The close proximity is one of the reasons I chose the Paris Baquette. The pastry shop is clean, brightly lit and most importantly quiet enough to have a conversation. As my buddy and I played movie critics we chose our desserts. They make pastries daily. We went with the "Strawberry Lemon Cream Croissants" $6.69. The croissant was definitely fresh and delicious. A little high in price. but the quality and taste were there. They offer Lavazza coffee. I can't remember the price but it was not out of line. You can park in designated parking spaces in the SOFI parking garage. They have an app and a reward program, as well. As a final note, if aliens can get to Earth from light years away, we would not stand chance if they had nefarious intentions.
