We went in last week, during COViD mind you, I ordered 2 flavors of ice cream, the owner put a flat top on my ice cream, smashing the flavors together, if I wanted blended flavors, I would have ordered a milkshake.... so I told her I no longer wanted that cup of ice cream she served me, and she told the young girl to out it in the fridge in the back. Why? 3 people had now handled this uncovered small cup of ice cream and she didn't throw it away?? Was she going to put it back into the I cream bin after I left?? I will never go back there. You wouldn't know just how outstanding this place is from the outside. The exterior is just another slot in a crowded strip mall. Inside is perhaps the BEST ice cream place I've ever visited. Absolutely EVERYTHING is made in house. Hard ice cream, soft serve, even the waffle cones! They put their own spin on everything. I had the Chocolate Lace, vanilla ice cream with giant chocolate rice pieces and caramel. Never had anything like it. The strawberry was top-tier. Never had it better. S'mores and Cookie Monster flavors also fantastic. Service was super quick and there are COVID precautions in place. Masks required and tape on the floor to direct traffic. This place is a little far from home but it's 120% worth the drive. We will be back! read more

I can't slam this place, it's really amazing! the only reason I don't give it a 5 star rating is for the limited seating for such a very popular spot. I do understand though because the store itself is long but not wide enough for tables and more seats. The only seats are some benches along the wall inside the store but if you opt to sit the crowds asses will "almost" be in your face. If someone passes gas, um yea your wonderful ice cream experience is basically over. So take a seat if there are no crowds otherwise go back to the car. The popularity of this place is obvious when you drive up and there are droves of people inside & outside the store. Even cars had doors opened in the parking lot as families sat inside their vehicles eating ice cream. So yea, seating sucks but the ice cream certainly does NOT! The selection to me was very satisfying. More importantly the serving sizes I thought were very generous for the pricing so you certainly are getting value for your dollar. I got a small wafer cone with some soft serve ice cream and while the cone was fairly small I expected a small amount of ice cream but damn the ice cream towered so high it was longer than the darn cone itself. Excellent ice cream! On a road trip back home, we decided to stop for some ice cream along the way. We were all glad to stop here, where the flavors were varied and creamy delicious! I love the owner's Gina a husband they come out with free samples they help the community employ the kids during summer time they give the kids off during spring break and Christmas break. They gave huge ice cream portions I got to know how they can afford it the brownie Sundaes are so delicious! I like going here instead of the large ice cream places just because the large places the lines are just ridiculously long hear the Lions can go to the door but they get to them fast because they have so many people behind the ice cream coolers. One of my favorite local places in Connecticut that is within a 20 minute car ride. The selections are BIG and the are frequent to change their choices. Soft serve is just as good as their hard ice creams and every aspect is made with such care, quality and love....this couple brings ice cream to the next level! They make flavors you've never heard of and they make them well...basil ice cream? Yeah, and let me tell you, it's seasonal, it's summer and yeah, it is a serious YUM along with Sweet Cream Corn! Pralines and cream is magnificent with their homemade roasting of pecans in a nice sugar swirl....Devil Dog tastes just like the 1970's favorite but in frozen fashion. This place offers your typical toppings and then some....even their gummy bears are delicious and different! They put dedications in everything--the hot fudge is so reminiscent of the hot fudge you used to find in old fountain shops....so yummy and delectable! Their whipped cream is freshly made and not from the can. I cannot say enough of this place....come here often as it is a close drive. It is not my favorite in Connecticut--my favorite is Rich's Farm but this is a close, close step behind--in my opinion, far better than Ferris acres with far less chaos. What brings this to a 4 star versus 5--number one strike is the CASH ONLY...great inconvenience, at least offer an in-shop ATM machine. When ordering toppings, I find myself asking to add a little more since they can be a little skimpy with them. Lastly, the scoopers are not always consistent--we have had multiple orders placed and the sizes were dramatically different. Quality is a 5 but how it is served is a 4. They make ice cream cakes--I am assuming that these are great and seem to be well priced and they offer a selection of pre made frozen treats in their freezer section.
