So 8 years later I returned. I remember I didn't like it years ago.. I remember freezer burn. But I was craving ice cream when in the area and so we returned and it was delicious! Like the most perfect chewy and creamy texture that is so hard to fine. The chocolate flavor was not too strong and the brownies inside perfectly soft and chewy. I live right around the corner, and because it's such a favorite place according to reviews I have given it many chances. I'm just not a fan. Almost all of their flavors are vanilla based, with the flavors added in. Today, I enjoyed the seasonal pumpkin flavor because it wasn't just a vanilla ice cream with added nuggets of something. Went to Dr. Mike's tonight. I hadn't been in a few years, just due to proximity. A few downsides: the place is pretty small, it's cash-only, and they only have a limited number of flavors (tonight there were 10). On the upside, the service is fast, the portions are huge, and it's homemade daily. I had mocha chip and chocolate lace. The chocolate lace was outstanding; I would highly recommend it. The mocha chip was good, but the flavor didn't really stand out to me. My daughter had the rich chocolate, which was very good, but I like chips and chunks, and it didn't have either. read more

Welll... there's a new owner in town. And boy oh boy... is he the real deal!! Stopped by on a cold, snowy February day... (weird, I know... but I was craving rich chocolate!!) Steve (I think?) bought the place, was in the middle of renovating, but said 'of course I'll scoop you ice cream!!' He insisted on topping our Rich Chocolate with a scoop of CT Mud Pie... cause there 'wasn't enough chocolate.' We also got a fully packed butter pecan. Welp... my son ate the 'top...' CT Mud Pie... and claimed a new fave. We still haven't hit the rich chocolate!! ( but we willllll!!) As for the Butter Pecan... it was pretty much sweet cream and pecans. And almost life changing!!
