While walking into a near by store I smelled some amazing smells!!! Decided to check it out, hadn't had lunch yet and my kid LOVES bagels! I really like the decor, simple but homey. Really nice menu, good variety. A decent variety left over for late afternoon, I hate having to ask for 10 things and everything being sold out. I wanted jalapeño and got the last one, sorry whoever was behind me! Service was fast and friendly. I got the turkey nightclub, no subs... it was perfect. My kids got the fruity one, my bagel lover wasn't impressed, it was my fault, today she wanted savory... but my other kid loved it. Will be back, probably regularly. read more

I've been a customer here since they opened. I saw much promise in the earlier years, but the service I have experienced the past two times leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Yes, the bagels are good. No, I do not want to wait 20 minutes for a couple bagels w/ cream cheese and a sandwich, then receive smug treatment when the food is finally ready. With 7 people working behind the counter and a few patrons, no customer should be left feeling like a burden. There are a couple guys who have been there since the beginning who are always kind... other than that I won't be back because the service is that bad. read more

I had the vegan lover, hummus heaven, and jalapeño cheese bagel. Let's just say I couldn't tell which I loved more. Everyone is really nice and fast service. The bread is amazing. I ordered the house cheeseburger which comes with a choice of regular fries or onion rings. You can also request them to add mayonnaise if you want but I was a little disappointed since they were kind of skimpy on it and I barely tasted it. The toppings were fresh and the patty was cooked perfectly. Maybe the patty could have more seasoning though. The onion rings were absolutely to die for, as each bite was extremely crunchy. Would highly recommend just buying an order of them alone as it really carried this mediocre cheeseburger hard. read more

Awesome bagels and bagel sandwiches! Giving this spot an extra star for having a delicious gluten free bagel option as well. These bagels are light and airy, not cement gut bombs like you'll find at many bagel shops. The bagel sandwiches look enormous on the menu, but they're just the right size in real life. Their coffee is good and I recently had a dirty chai with oat milk that was in point. The only constructive criticism for the shop is that the ordering, paying, and picking up process is a bit confusing. It's not clear who's in line to order, who's waiting to pay, and who's waiting to pickup their food or drink. A little fine tuning of the signage and flow could go a long way to improving the ordering experience. read more

4.5 stars but rounding up for awesome bagel sandwiches, and super friendly staff. They were super busy around 11am on a Tuesday, but the line moved quickly and it didn't seem like too long of a wait for orders since the staff is so efficient. Since I called in my order in advance, I just had to pay and pick up at the cashier, and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I tried their Lox Special on Everything Bagel (Lox, Cream Cheese, Onions $8, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=K8Eu-o3DI7pAJ11JMw34fQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg), which was delicious! I loved the crust/toast on the bagel, and that it was still chewy inside. There was a good amount of lox and cream cheese, and the everything bagel tied all the ingredients together- highly recommended! My only small suggestion is that I wish there were slightly less onions. I love onions, but it was a LOT. I will definitely be back for more bagel sandwiches if in the area! The food here is amazing, be aware the salmon is dyed and smells and tastes very strong. But for me that's okay, it still tasted good but the smell stuck. Every bagel here has been amazing. So many options and you can call or order there. Nice easy going environment, never rushed, great place to meet with friends or kids. The guys at the back making the bagels were amazing but the guy taking orders with mid length hair just ignored me until the guys making the orders turned around and helped. That's a full five minutes despite calling my order in. His hair was waving around the food and his hygiene in handling food and taking money had me choose never to go here again. Get him some training in customer service and food hygiene. read more

Uhm... Yum! As a self proclaimed bagel connoisseur, this was a spot that piqued my interest. With fun and locally inspired combos and the classics I had a feeling this was gonna be delish. My synopsis, this will fulfill your bagel craving, but don't expect a classic NYC bagel. The best way I can describe it is the bagel itself is inferior but the filling and stuff inside the sandwich is superior so it kinda a win some lose some situation. Overall this was definitely not bad, I'd eat it again, but don't think it's worthy of a 5-star. read more

Coming from Downey, CA. Near LB, making our way up to North Cal and we stopped by Bagel Kitchen. Louie was the first one to greet us and the last to tell us "have a great day". Everyone working at Bagel Kitchen is on point, they flow together and I must say their bagels are amazing. Delicious! We will be coming back to this spot just to get some delicious bagels and to say hi to Louie. Great job on the customer service, and the location is clean, safe and plenty of parking space. One of the best stops that I had on my trip, it's a cute little shop in the corner! However, the food can really speak for itself, some quality bagels with a spin of delicious taste and a recipe that can suite anybody! My boyfriend and I shared a bagel the first time and ended up coming back the next day to try another flavor, the Bug Sur! It's really unique to its taste and the ingredients are so fresh. The best bagel shop you will ever find in California. We happened upon this shop just because we were staying in Pacific Grove and we're on the hunt for breakfast. Wow, I am so glad we stopped here. They have the most delicious bagel sandwiches. We stopped here the first morning of trip and I'm so thankful we did because we ended up coming here the next 2 mornings again. The vibe inside is very cute and inviting. The open windows help the space to have a lot of light. Had never been here before and the Yelp reviews looked mostly positive. Came on a Sunday morning in June, just a couple of people in line in front of us. Waited about 10 minutes to order a veggie bagel, I forget what it was called. Sun dried tomatoes, sprouts, avocado...and a medium black coffee. The staff needed to try a smile and a "good morning" rather than just going through the motions with "help you?" Since we had never been in we had a few questions and counter person acted like didn't want to be bothered. Sandwich was just okay, coffee was not very good. We will try elsewhere next time. read more

This is one of the places in the Monterey area that I return to when I'm visiting. The bagels are super yummy (they have a gluten free one available too) and it's a great breakfast spot after doing something outdoorsy or taking on 17 mile drive. Great indoor seating too! read more

Went here based on all the reviews, obviously. I ordered a lox bagel, minus the tomatoes and onion and added capers. What I got was a lot of cream cheese, tons of capers and chopped up lox. I've had a lot of lox bagels in my day but this was by the far the worst. There was hardly any lox, as you can see in the photo, and they piled on capers making it so salty. I couldn't even eat the other half. I'm sure if I wanted a bagel with egg and bacon on it they do a fine job- but stay clear of the so called lox. Probably won't be returning seeing as there are two other bagel spots around the corner that do a solid lox. read more

So many different kinds of bagel sandwiches! And they all sound so good. Came here to pick up breakfast and lunch before heading out for a day trip out to Big Sur. We picked 4 different sandwiches to share, and they were all delicious: Lumberjack, East Coast Morning, Meet Me in New York, and Spicy Chicken. My favorite, if I had to choose, would be the Meet Me in New York bagel. However, I highly recommend all of them. I only wish this place was closer to me...I'd come here all the time. read more

These bagels were everything, they were probably the best bagels we've ever had, but the customer service wasn't the best! Beware if your from out of town and not a "regular" because the staff seemed very irritated and didn't seem to offer much help when trying to figure out what to get because they're annoyed that your taking so long. I say try to order online so you don't feel hassled or rushed to make a decision and your not waiting forever for your food to be ready! Hopefully next time if we happen to stop by the staff will be friendlier! read more

This place is so good. It's the perfect breakfast without being a full sit down meal. My husband and I were an a short vacation and ended up eating breakfast here twice! I got the Big Sur Bagel Breakfast Sandwich both visits and my husband got the Jalapeño Bomb Bagel Sandwich. The line was long and the wait time for food was also, but for me, this just means it's that good, fresh, and made to order. Come with patience, it's worth it! read more

Ricki is great here! I ordered two NY bagels with everything OTS a Latte and Macchiato, on my way out they toppled over in there holders (of course) ..And if my order wasn't pretentious enough from the get, I brought the coffees back for a remake. Ricki with a smile remade them and even brought them over to my table! He handled the volume of Sunday morning guests and my concerns with patience, class and great customer service. Went to this place two days in a row because the bagels here are amazing! I got the "Chorizo" bagel and the "Chai Latte"; they were both delicious! The egg is perfectly cooked and the jalapeño adds a nice little kick. The servers were prompt and friendly and the atmosphere of the place was relaxing! Good bagel sandwiches. El Diablo is awesome. Bagels themselves are okay. They get pretty busy so def order ahead. They don't really have an expo/someone managing orders. A few times our order gets done, nobody said it's done, so we're just sitting there waiting for no reason. Not a huge deal read more

The logistics of this shop really needs improvement. 1. The menu is behind you when you order so one has to keep turning around to look at the menu. 2. The menu fonts are not easy to read and the content is confusing, there are classic bagels but a different classic sandwich. 3. The person you order with sees through each order, which means everyone is a generalist and spends a lot of time walking around, putting on gloves...etc. We have been here for an hour and have just received our order... there were six parties ahead of us. Hmm. This is a cute bagel shop with potential. I hope the owner can make some changes to thrive! read more
