My daughter in law had ordered ahead for us to take to our tailgate on Saturday. The order was ready when she got there and the bagels were excellent. I wanted to write a review because I like veggie cream cheese on mine and this was the best I ever had. Good bagels, not amazing as one would expect from a specialty bagel shop. Located right next to the Hyatt, we wandered over while waiting for our friends in the hotel. We ordered at the self-serve kiosks, and our food was delivered to us really quickly. My poppyseed bagel and cream cheese were really good but no "wow" or anything that elevated this bagel above a Panera or Wegman's bagel. This is a cute little shop on Beaver Avenue that also has tacos and other items for lunch (maybe dinner?). We asked but they were not making tacos while we were there because it was around 10:30 am. Delicious bagels... Pretty authentic to New York City style. Small selection of flavored cream cheeses lots of sandwich options just be prepared for a long wait as they are understaffed. Absolutely would not return. I found it ironic that their website states, "We specialize in providing the richest quality bagels and bagel sandwiches, at an an affordable price." The bagels did look affordable online, but when I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and was charged $4.45 I was shocked. A bagel with plain cream cheese was almost as much as a breakfast sandwich? Online it said $1.20 for a single bagel and $1.50 for cream cheese, so I was definitely expecting to pay less than $3. Not to mention, the staff wasn't very kind. When I entered, the store was empty. I asked the guy working the front desk if I was able to get a just a bagel with cream cheese, and he just shook his head and kept doing whatever he was doing. As for the bagel... it was mediocre. I would've preferred to have it toasted more (I think it was just warmed), but this wasn't a question I was asked. Very disappointed because it's right next door to the hotel we usually stay in when we visit State College! I would've loved to know that we had a reliable breakfast joint next door for future visits! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Bagel Crust yet, this is long overdue! They have multiple locations and the downtown one on Beaver is the newest. All the locations have the same menu, and the bagels are delicious. I also personally have never experienced any rudeness from the staff like others have mentioned. They also made contactless pick ups super easy and convenient due to the pandemic, which I especially appreciate. It's easy for me to run over and grab my order before my online classes start! Overall, it's a great place to get a quick, quality breakfast sandwich in downtown State College! read more

As soon as I took my bagel out of the wrapping, I noticed that it had a funky smell. I shouldn't have taken a bite but I did. I immediately spit out the bite. Something was definitely up with the sausage on the bagel. I also got avocado on the bagel for an $.80 upcharge. It was two tiny slivers of avocado. So all in all, I wasted $9, and now have to find a different breakfast. I'm not sure if the sausage was cooked in old grease or if it was old, or if it was expired sausage, but it was inedible. Bagel itself was also meh. I spit out the first and only bite. They out here acting like they're Wonder Bagel. Not even close. Bagel Crust is gross. read more

My friend and I were working down the street and we didn't have time to eat breakfast in the morning. The convince of having the ability to online order was great. She picked them up and I got an everything-asiago bagel with avocado, spinach, egg whites, mozzarella cheese, and garlic herb cream cheese. It was the best thing I ever tasted. The fact that a place could have all the breakfast ingredients I use to make my own meals was awesome. And the fact they are new york bagels is even better. The person at the counter was to preoccupied with their phone to provide good customer service. The two parties that came after us received their orders first and when our food came they made the sandwiches with the wrong type of bagels. We ordered everything and they gave us plain. They should of used the extra time they made us wait to read the tickets. Not worth $8.70 for a lousy stale bagel sandwich. read more
