Busy here !!! ..... Joey likes the vibe !!

This was a fun location for brunch !! It was cosy .. upbeat .... with a great happy busy vibe going on. The menu was fantastic with something for everyone ..... as well as all the yummy drinks that accompany such diverse food. The price was right and service quick & spot on. I think this is the perfect spot to launch yourself for a fun day down Glebe point Road.

Thinking vegetarian or Vegan bear the University of Sydney ? This is the place to go . I had the eggplant mushroom stroganoff over brown rice - so yummy. My friend had the falafel platter - hummus was excellent . The veg pie was rich and tasty. Even if you're not vegan or vegetarian - the food is worth coming for

Although Badde Manors does generally have, true to its name, bad manors, I still find my way back to this place time and time again. It might be because of the delicious toasted bagels I love so much or the seductively tempting desert menu filled with ricotta cannoli, triple chocolate mud cake and sticky date pudding. Once we waited over an hour and a half for our food because our waiter took the order home with her when she clocked off at the end of her shift. There were no apologies and no offers of a deducted bill or free desert at the end of the meal. Another time I waited over 40 minutes for my bagel and it came out charred to the end of the earth. I was on a lunch break and didn't have time to wait another 40 minutes so I got a refund and left. These little mishaps keep me from being a regular at Badde Manors but aren't enough to keep me away for good. If you are a vegetarian Badde Manors is definitely a place you should visit. And even if you're not, you will enjoy just the same.

Badde Manors is a vegetarian's happy place. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the solely vegetarian cafe offers a really good selection of meat-free meals. My favourites are the Lentil Burger (with both aioli and hommous, big enough to share between two), the Vegie Nachos (the small serve of which is also big enough for two), the Haloumi Bagel and the toasted Pumpkin & Feta Focaccia. Ooh, and the Vegie Lasagne, Mediterranean Platter, Antipasto Platter and Eggplant Schnitzel rank pretty highly. Oh, and the Tajine. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, pretty much everything on their menu is enticing. A fair few of the meals can be made vegan as well, and all eggs are free-range. As a non-meat eater, it's reassuring to know that it's impossible for meat to make it anywhere near your plate. Also, it's extra nice to know that you can order absolutely anything off the menu. And, for the carnivores, it's nice to realise that a meal without meat can not only fill you up, but can be delicious! Whilst I've heard that Badde Manors can occasionally live up to its name, I've never received the kind of service it once was infamous for. In saying that, hostility clearly rises when the boss enters the building. On busy days this is less noticeable, as all the customers are too busy enjoying their food to pick up on the slightly uncomfortable working environment. The coffee isn't fantastic (especially with the heavy Glebe Point Rd coffee competition) but a few of their other drinks more than make up for this. Badde Manors is famed for the best chai tea in Glebe (made with rosewater and fresh ginger) and the most refreshing summer drink comes in the form of an icy apple-mint frappe. Furthermore, the desserts at Badde Manors are perfect for a late night, post-cinema treat (or post-breakfast dessert). The home made tiramisu takes the crown, followed closely by ricotta canolis, toasted cream cheese and cherry strudels with icecream and baked ricotta cheesecake.

You order at the front register, and they bring your order to you. I've only tried their hojicha latte and taro latte, but they are the best lattes (no coffee) I've ever had. They're so flavorful and rich with a fluffy foam design on top. The drink itself is smooth and creamy but not overly sweet. Hits the spot!

They've set up shop in a teeny tiny Lilliputian cottage in Kensington Lane in the new Central Park precinct. It backs onto Spice Alley and has light-filled interiors that are all white walls and light wood and it feel positively Scandinavian. Then there's the coffee. Good lord, man. It comes served in these custom cups, they're kind of grainy and glazed and feel like they've been hewn out of very light sandstone by some unnamed master craftsman who will die a nobody but be recognised posthumously as one of the finest artisans of this or any age, Van Gogh style. The barista had the obligatory mustache but boy, did this dude know what service felt like. Polite, friendly, charming, without being overbearing. Win stars out of five. Top class, thank you and goodnight.

I've been meaning to write up a review for weeks, but struggled to choose what to write about. The menu is seasonal and changes weekly, some samples include finely cut wagyu, crusted in dukkah and served on sourdough, honey-glazed bacon with fresh avocado, and mushrooms with ricotta. Almost everything comes served with sprinklings of sprouts and greens grown on the windowsill. The menu is small but there's almost always something for everyone; however, those looking for your classic big breakfast should come prepared to settle for something a little different. The quality of coffee is not entirely consistent, but the molasses-infused sugar makes up for it. I could eat a jar of it by itself. There's also a range of sandwiches on offer. A friend recently brought home lamb-shoulder on sourdough that had me drooling. I need to be strong, three visits in one day is just too much.

And if I was going to personify this cafe, that's how it'd go. It's small and charmingly ramshackle and chilled out and social all at the same time, it's basically how I want my living room to be. The coffee is fantastic, as are the views across the new Central Park development, and weirdly the noise of the construction across the road doesn't seem to come inside. The small menu is on the spendier side, but it looked creative & wholesome. Bring a book or a notepad to write deep thoughts in.

Located next to Victoria Park and near Uni Row, I was surprised to have found this gem that the locals get to enjoy everyday. Walking in, a barista takes your order for takeaway and has you standing behind them as they make your order. There is plenty of seating inside, but those are reserved for those dining in. They have their roastery in the back, with large windows separating from the cafe. We had visited twice here and each time was a great experience. I had the opportunity to try both their Ethiopian and their Guatemalan long blacks, and the tasting notes do stand out. Sebastian, the robust English chef, serves up traditional and delicious café cuisine for breakfast and lunch on weekdays and a beautiful roast for Sunday lunch. He's funny at best, though I might warn you not to sit too close to the kitchen unless you want to overhear a colorful monologue of cynicism and crude jokes. Some winning items on the menu include the "Big Salad" which changes daily and can include a delicious mixture of pumpkin, cous cous, eggplant, walnuts, raisins, and any other odds and ends the chef decides to add on the day. I recommend ordering it with poached chicken, which is as tender as can be. Another popular item is the BLT, served on Turkish bread. Careful though, it's big enough to feed your entire family of seven. If you can appreciate a good chip (or 2 dozen), Bar Mattino's are hand cut and fried to perfection. Lastly, I would highly and enthusiastically recommend the house made brownie, for which I solely blame the gain of 3 kilos. It's chocoloatey, and melty, and powered sugary and just ALL good.
