Even though we had a reservation, there was still a little wait at the top. Once inside the historic room, you can marvel at the decorative lofty ceiling and ornate chandeliers. Tables are arranged a little close to each other even though the room was barely half full. The room is airy and chilled so consider bringing a light jacket. Each person must select one set menu but they can be different set menus. There are also alcohol upgrades should you chiis Traditional High Tea Savory pastries - prosciutto thing, quiche Finger sandwiches, includes a spice eggplant, egg salad, ham and cheese, cucumber, curry and salmon (my favorite). Scone with jam and clotted cream. Pretty good - soft and warm on the inside. Sweet pastries Impressive quartet of blueberry, raspberry, choco cream and another dark red fruit tart. All are incredibly made with multi-layers and presented beautifully. Tea selection Each person can select either a green or black tea with different infusions. I tried the Irish whiskey cream - a very floral, assam blend with a flamboyant fragrance of whisky and cocoa. Undoubtedly a complex tea that commands a moment of silent contemplation to savor its flower garden aromas and flavors. Overall an elegant experience that I highly recommend because it complements the aura and history of the famous building (and modern shopping outlets). That's all...

If I could give this establishment negative stars I would. The reasons I would tell people to…read moreavoid this business are the following 1. The scones are stale and warmed in the microwave prior to being served 2. The little pats of cream were meager in size and had a slight crust on them 3. The scones were large, dry, and heavy. If you added a few sultanas you could have called them rock cakes 4. The rose scone with rose petal jelly was a huge disappointment Initially the appearance of the scone was wow. Topped with Persian fairy floss was show stopping. That is where it ended. The scone was super dry the rose petal jelly was nearly non existent. The server had to show us on the scone where it was. See photo attached 5. The service was so SLOW. That was the least of the problems 6. To expensive for what was served. The wilting cucumber in the sandwich was so so sad When I pointed the issues out to the manager she was very professional and refunded the rose petal scone. All I can say if your business is afternoon tea at a high price the scones need to be good Light and fluffy is what a scone is meant to be

Everything here is so girly. I love it!!! Only thing that could've made all the decor nicer was…read moreif it was all matching. I ordered the Lemon, Pistachio & Currant and absolutely loved it. This was washed down with some Luckyland Ceylon Pekoe which was oh so tasty. So two issues I have with ordering tea are 1) I feel like I never get enough tea for what I've paid for so am always tempted to ask them for a refill of hot water so I can keep drinking (that and I just love tea) and 2) it always gets cold. So I was very pleased to 1) receive a nice big teapot and 2) the teapot kept the tea warm enough till the last pour All in all a very delightful afternoon. Just one thing to note. Does anyone else hate when on a menu there is a separate menu item for when you order it as a set but it's not actually cheaper than when you order it separately? For example in the tea salon's case a scone is $6.50 and a pot of tea is $5.95. However there is a separate item called scone + tea $12.45. Feel like it's to trick you into thinking it's cheaper or something when it actually isn't. That or they think people can't add. I dunno...

Both tearooms are a distance from where they prepare the food and our waitress said she covers 10 000 steps per day. The coffee was OK but a bit light on with the chocolate. The food came out very quickly so the coffee ended up a bit cold. The omelette and eggs Benedict were very nice. Prices as expected for this area. We had an excellent view of the NON working clock.

Our kids refused to go with us- so it was just my husband and me. We clearly did not order right- not knowing what to expect and since the server told us one will not be enough for the 2 of us we ended up ordering 2 hi-teas. My husband doesn't eat fruits or fruity desserts- so his $65 platter I thought was a waste of money, since he ended up not even being able to eat many of the tit bits from the platter. In hindsight - we might have liked it better if we ordered one of these platters and another entree from the menu! I liked the things- but overall I think was too expensive for the value- none of items was extra-ordinary! On a good note, the tea set was cute, and the location also!
