The place is located conveniently in the heart of city , level 1 of QVB. Had a high tea there on a Saturday morning with a bunch of my girlfriends . Have to say what shocked me was the service , I have been to quite a few high tea places and this place's service has definitely not as fancy as it looks from the outside. We sat near the cash register so we constantly have to " shout " at each other if we want to get the message through to the person sitting opposite us just because the staff was taking care of other customers or intruding their tea range .... ( if u know u would do that would not you design the sitting a little bit better so minimise the interruption ? Just saying ) I didn't even bother take a picture because i didn't feel i was getting the service that I paid for. But my girlfriend did, as it is attached . From the picture you can tell their he cakes or sandwiches are okay, and they do just taste okay. I seriously cannot remember one thing I had from there was tasty or amazing. The tea was served in this massive pot which is good and convenient so you don't have to ask every 1 minute unlike other high tea places. Overall I didn't like the experience as I had higher expectation for a high tea place as their name suggested. But would be still ok to chill if you are tired from all the shopping :) I would recommend go in and ask for a quieter spot so u can enjoy urself like you are having a high tea rather than feel Like you are eating at the China town night market.( U might get better food at Chinatown tho . just saying )

First time here probably the last too:( (I'm a tourist!) I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and I LOVED it!

Each tea pot and cup appears unique.

I had made a trip to the Queen Victoria Building to see the gorgeous building and to have tea at The Palace Tea room. I travelled in by train from the northwest suburbs to the Town Hall station with a thought that I should be able to find my way to the QVB. Lo and behold- the exit from the train drops you right into the building. There are many shops in the historic building and lots of chances for photos. I finally found the tea room and began perusing the menu. Due to a large brekkie- I only ordered a pot of tea. The vanilla cormoro is a full bodied black decaf tea with heavy vanilla aromas and flavor. It was delicious and I felt in another world with the lovely cup of tea.

    High tea for the hungry!

The best scones I have ever tasted.. Light and fluffy and slightly crispy on the outside. Fresh strawberry jam with fresh whipped smooth cream. These scones were perfect. Fresh club sandwiches and delightful small sweet cakes all perfectly presented on the high tea stand.... One each which was bliss as I did not wish to share any of it. The large grandma pot of earl gray tea was perfectly brewed and thirst quenching. Recommend the high tea for those who have skipped lunch! Service was fast and efficient despite the large number of patrons at 3pm.

Horrible service and not accommodating. I would never recommend this place to anyone. One of the worst dining experience ever.

Even though we had a reservation, there was still a little wait at the top. Once inside the historic room, you can marvel at the decorative lofty ceiling and ornate chandeliers. Tables are arranged a little close to each other even though the room was barely half full. The room is airy and chilled so consider bringing a light jacket. Each person must select one set menu but they can be different set menus. There are also alcohol upgrades should you chiis Traditional High Tea Savory pastries - prosciutto thing, quiche Finger sandwiches, includes a spice eggplant, egg salad, ham and cheese, cucumber, curry and salmon (my favorite). Scone with jam and clotted cream. Pretty good - soft and warm on the inside. Sweet pastries Impressive quartet of blueberry, raspberry, choco cream and another dark red fruit tart. All are incredibly made with multi-layers and presented beautifully. Tea selection Each person can select either a green or black tea with different infusions. I tried the Irish whiskey cream - a very floral, assam blend with a flamboyant fragrance of whisky and cocoa. Undoubtedly a complex tea that commands a moment of silent contemplation to savor its flower garden aromas and flavors. Overall an elegant experience that I highly recommend because it complements the aura and history of the famous building (and modern shopping outlets). That's all...

I was a little shocked by the price, but the 3 tier food spread and the atmosphere are top notch. The ~$100 bill at the end didn't seem that awful, especially since we ended up walking away with our leftovers. That's right! Despite everything being portioned out as fancy finger food, we were still stuffed to the point of barely touching the dessert tier. I don't know how often their menu rotates, but we were served things like smoked salmon with cavier and lamb sausage rolls. This place is a nice treat, but with the cost, I can't say this would be a regular stop for me. As a tourist though, it was definitely great to experience.

The champagne and tea flowed really well. It was $45 for the high tea, and we went dressed up in our Victorian regalia to ensure that we got the actual feel of the whole era in one. The 3 tiered cake holders were just adorable and the bites to eat on it were just as succulent. Well worth a trip out here to socialise with some friends over a cuppa and enjoy the greenery. I do have to say however that I love love loved the tea cups. The china made my heart sing. Ahhhhh tea!!! My other love! They have free parking on site as well if you would like to drive out here. Alternatively there are buses that go past the estate.
