Located on the top floor of the swanky Queen Victoria Building, the Tea Room is decked out in the typical high tea, Victorian style. We had a reservation for a Tuesday afternoon, but didn't need it--there were only a few other tables at that time. I opted for the sparkling high tea--high tea with a glass of Aussie bubbly and the Nilgiri Mountains tea, and my sister went with the cocktail high tea. My mom ordered the Devonshire tea and my aunt went with the sandwich plate. All of our teas were yummy, but took probably close to 45 minutes to come out--long, long after our food and drinks. But we couldn't even get any servers' attention to ask them about the tea; they seemingly all disappeared or just weren't looking our way. The finger sandwiches and pastries were pretty good, but I wasn't absolutely blown away by anything in particular. The bread of the sandwiches was really soft. My favorite thing was probably a little flaky spinach pastry that they had. My mom liked her scones a lot, though to be honest I think she was mostly in it for the clotted cream. I was pretty underwhelmed overall, by both the food and the service, especially at the price tag of $60 for the sparkling tea and $70 for the cocktail tea. My sparkling wine was good and the tea was good, but I might look for a different tea room next time--I've heard Gunners Barracks is supposed to be a great experience with an awesome view.

Beautiful venue for a wedding reception! My childhood bestie's wedding reception was held here, and it was beautiful. From the table setting to the ceiling, it truly embodies the theme of QVB. The food was also very delicious & was presented beautifully. I definitely want to come back here & experience their High Tea, since I've heard great things about that as well!

I got the traditional high tea and it was lovely! As I was alone I opted to sit in the big cushy chairs instead of the traditional dining tables and it was very comfortable. The interior is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are very attentive and polite, so it is fancy but not in a way that seems stuffy or pretentious. The traditional high tea comes with tea and 4 plates of food (savory, sandwiches, sweet, and scones). I got the Irish breakfast tea with milk and it was delicious. My favorite was the scones with jam and clotted cream, as well as the savory pastries, but the others were also delicious. The bread of the sandwiches was very soft. There is a good variety in the food, so you will definitely have a lot to enjoy and try. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to get high tea!

great setting for traditional afternoon tea - complete with traditional offering of sandwiches and cakes and a great variety of teas served on traditional china plates and tea settings. recommended for dressy casual - great place for ladies gathering - father daughter outings - general gathering place - historic beautiful room too!

We had a great time at the Tea Room, but it was definitely everything to do with the company and not much to do with the Tea Room. I will say that the scones with cream were pretty delish...the food wasn't bad, but the service was awful. Our waiter, Fabio, was just plain unpleasant. I'm not sure if this is only the case on the weekend, but everyone was required to order a full tea (which was way too much food) - our bill came to $60ish dollars per person for a group of 7 people. Service was EXTREMELY slow. Our tea came only at the very end of our meal even though we'd asked for it a few times and then we were given the bill and ushered out before our plates were cleared - rude! Absolutely love the idea of tea with the girls, but next time I think we'll try the Victoria Room.

Took a friend for the first time to High Tea and she loved it! I figured the best place to start would be to trial The Tea Room at the Queen Victoria Building in the city. We were booked in for 11am for a 1.5 hour seating, although i highly doubt we would use that whole time! I cant remember the names of most of the items but made sure to take a lot of pictures so you can feast your eyes on the deliciousness that is High Tea :) . The wait staff was impeccable and pleasant. We were done and dusted within the hour and desperately needed to walk off the many treats we just consumed. Overall I love High Tea and always have a wonderful time sipping tea and eating the mini treats, I mean if you didn't then this is something that you must get yourself into! With the year coming to an end i think you all deserve to spoil yourself ;).

I came here with my sister and it was a very nice experience! The service was great (servers were very polite) and the food was solid for what it was. Specifically, the scones and sandwiches were really nice. While some dishes were either way too rich and sweet (the chocolate square cake) or salty and beyond oily (some spinach pastry) I forgot about the flaws because the atmosphere and service was just overwhelmingly satisfying. This feels like a great place to have some light food while casual conversing with a friend.

This was my first high tea experience and it was just lovely. You're given a menu with a large selection of teas to choose from and then a tower for two with 4 half sandwiches to share and 4 mini sweets each. Also a scone with cream & jam and a warm tart. The Sandwiches cover a range of flavors as do the sweets. Your tea pot is filled up periodically, or you can leave the lid open & they will come fill it for you. The room is very fancy with lovely carpet, nice wallpaper & some stunning chandeliers. I would recommend it if you feel like being a little fancy!

Amazing food!

First of all, the Queen Victoria Building is the most beautiful place to ever visit!!! You feel like you are in a movie!! Just stunning!!! This high tea place is right in the building located upstairs! When you enter the tea room your breath is taken away by the atmosphere, decor and those beautiful chandeliers! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! The prices are so decent, the food was great and of course the tea was perfect! Love going here with my friends! Can't wait when I head back home to Sydney and I can catch up with my friends here!

While visiting Sydney a friend decided to take us here and we had the most wonderful time! The Tea Room at the Queen Victoria Building is in the heart of the downtown hub. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of the bustling city! The space is relaxed, open and beautiful and located already inside one of the most gorgeous buildings. We booked two days in advance for a 1pm seating and they were able to sit us early since we got there 30 minutes ahead of time. We chose the $50 AUS Cheapange team options which was perfect. All the teas looked amazing but I settled for their Vanilla black tea - which is my absolutely favorite. We were done in roughly an hour but I wish we had stayed even longer! The service was fantastic and I was so stuffed I couldn't even finish all my little cakes and teas (they were very generous with the options). I absolutely loved High Tea here and would recommend to any native Aussie or visitor that they have to treat themselves!

Gorgeous Tea Room at the QVB! The high ceiling and grand chandeliers create a very classy ambience. The food is equally beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the sparkling afternoon tea. This is the perfect spot for a nice occasion or just an afternoon with the girls. Watch out for the desert it is deadly. Make sure you have plenty of room for the rich chocolate cake.

Delightful. Loved it.

A great sparkling afternoon high tea on a Saturday. Don the make up ladies, and get dressed up. Great for the guys, too. The hits: * Filling scones, like rock cakes with the fluffiest cream. * Stunning strawberry jam. * My timing due to the release of The Great Gatsby film was perfect. This experience took me back in time. * Awesome china wear. * Great ambience - old ballroom turned library. The Misses: * The price * The service - don't ask. My champagne did not arrive. I had to walk outside the bar and ask for some. * Too much food. * Thick, buttery pastry on the sweets, and on one savoury dish. * The cream in the macarons has not set. Otherwise an awesome experience. I went to a private function and viewed some top autumn/winter fashions. Let's work on the misses, and this experience will be perfect!

This is the "afternoon tea"

Best high tea experience. Great value for money, delicious food and amazing selection of tea. The staff were so professional but friendly. The vibe of the place is beautiful and the actual tea room is so gorgeous. It actually was at one point a ballroom and you can tell.

Top notch food and service in an elegant tea room. It's expensive but well worth it if you're looking for an amazing high tea experience.

Sydney had lost one of her raddest venues and a place renowned for putting on ace performances, plays, sales, exhibitions and just about anything else you can think of. It was making way for a bakery. Now, I'm all for baked goods, but Sydney can't afford to lose little gems like this that add something irreplaceable to the fabric of this damned fine city. Huzzah, then, that District 01 has risen - phoenix-like! - from the ashes of corporate suckitude and is reincarnated in Randle Lane, a small, clean alleyway near Central Station and the place is cooler than ever. HUZZAH I SAY. I attended the relaunch party last night and while there were canapes and live tunes and drinks what I really got excited about was the venue: a white-walled space ready to be transformed into whatever, whenever. A blank canvas waiting for imagination to recreate it into anything the user desires. Light globes hang low from the ceiling. Entry is up the stairs of a repurposed loading dock. And . . . there's just something about partying in a secret alleyway that makes me feel cooler than I probably (er, actually) am.

This is definitely one of those places you've stumbled upon by accident and you want to keep it a…read moresecret. Down a little alleyway off a quiet street, there's a set of door with a sign on them that reads "District 01". Inside is a converted warehouse with white floors, walls and ceiling and a few stacks of white pallets. I was here for a Yelp event so the projector was beaming District 01 offers with intermittent Yelp logos. The night was fairly warm and humid but the venue remained cool enough even though it was packed with people. This is defo worth keeping in mind if you're an event coordinator/PR/marketing peep looking for cool, new venues for events.

Let's say that gaining entry can be a bit difficult. Somehow I first ended up in a food court…read morebefore I found some elevator hidden in a corner that got me to the entrance for the actual Eye Tower. I stood in line for the kiosk to purchase a ticket, but the folks in front of me had some difficulties with it and so an attendant came to help guide them through the process. Apparently I look old and confused because when it was my turn he just ask me how many and type of visit and before I knew it he handed me a senior discount ticket. Wasn't sure if I should be glad or insulted. I made my way up to the top on a rickety small elevator and arrived safely.. had my doubts there for a minute. Once you step out of the elevator the world opens up again. The view is spectacular and you can walk around the entire perimeter and view 360 degrees of Sydney. And may I say the city is huge. I delighted in seeing an actual working mailbox there which is marked the highest mailbox in Sydney, well yeah... Of course I bought the picture package, because who doesn't need silly commemorative pictures of oneself with Koalas, in a kangaroo pouch or atop of a map of Australia. Also I must say that the gift shop here was able to fill all my souvenir needs easily. It is extensive and reasonably priced too.

The interactive touch screens were confusing and not very helpful, and the binocular viewers were basically useless. The biggest issue, though, was the dirty windows, and tons of lights in the background which made it difficult to take any decent photos. You can barely see the Harbour Bridge or Opera House as they are obstructed. After doing the Sydney BridgeClimb, this experience felt like a complete waste of money in comparison. There were tables available to sit at, but both staff and guests seemed unwilling to clean them, which added to the overall lackluster experience.
