As always, The Tea Cosy was a delight. We ordered scones w/ clotted cream and jam, along with a peach Bellini and a pitcher of the mixed berry iced tea. Since my last visit they have done major improvements to the building and expanded the outdoor seating. That was important to me with Covid numbers being so high. My daughter was disappointed in the Bellini. She felt that nectar was not used, but something much sweeter. I adored my tea and drank every single drop. Of course the scones we as delectable as always.

This adorable tea house was just the place we were happy to find after a morning filled with a lot of walking. It's off the beaten path, yet convenient to everything in the Rocks area. Atmosphere was lovely, service was great, and the Portuguese tart was heavenly. Great place to spend a lazy afternoon.

The peach & apricot tea, the butterscotch scone and the personal and professional service are second to none. A true relaxation and self-indulgence paradise! Highly recommended!

This was our first stop in Sydney, as it was near our hotel and too early for lunch. The name is accurate in that this place was extremely cosy!! Our group of 20 pretty much took up the whole top floor. I don't know if it was only because of a group menu or what, but the offerings were pretty few, but all quite good. We could choose between English breakfast tea, long black coffee (latte), and a cappuccino. The English breakfast tea was pretty good, but not really extraordinary. Maybe I'm just not the right person but it tasted normal to me. The scones are pretty big, and quite crispy on the outside, yet not as soft on the inside as I thought they would be. It came with three types of jam and one cream-like sauce. The cream sauce was very lightly whipped and had close to no flavor. The pear-vanilla jam was good, but it tasted more like figs. The strawberry jam was seasonal and tasted really fresh! Finally, the rhubarb jam was the most unique and also the best! They all were just the right amount of sweetness and tasted great with the scone. Overall, the atmosphere is what makes this place. The scone tower things are cool, the decor is quaint and cute, and the communal knitting baskets are unique and fun! However, the food experience wasn't quite as good. I would still recommend this as a fun place to hangout and relax with some friends!

Someone from work recommended this place and it exceeded my expectation! The signal is not very obvious but it's located in the Rocks, right by the flea market. The decoration reminds me of a bed & breakfast in rural UK. There's a knitting kit on each table :) I had the devonshire tea set ($14 per person - scones + a drink of your choice). The scones were probably one of best I ever had ....warm & soft (not dense at all), and oh man.. the home-made jam was delicious! I also had the lemon + lime iced tea, it was so refreshing , went really well with the scones ! Highly recommended for a date, family gathering or a date with your girlfriends :)

I had heard about this gem from a friend and oh boy did it still exceed all expectations. The scones are by far the best I've had since returning from Ireland, the interior feels exactly how it should - like you're curled up in your family home enjoying tea, scones, and a bit of casual crafting. The ice tea was delightfully refreshing and the tea for two makes you feel like you're having high tea at a fraction of the cost and without all the wank. I cannot rate this place highly enough

This cozy little Irish cafe is located right next to the famous The Rocks weekend market. Don't be deceived by the Irish shop front selling Celtic memorabilia, the true gem of the store is found when you walk through the corridor lined with teapots. Make sure you a seat before ordering!! The place gets really crowded and you need a table before you can order. We've had the Devonshire tea set, which came with two scones, served with their homemade pear and cinnamon jam. The scones were simply divine! We've also ordered the Ploughman's lunch which was very very filling and yummy. The savoury cheese scones were served with all sorts of side dishes. I would recommend this place to tourist or locals alike. You will be amazed by the attentiveness of the staff and their service in this place. Yes, you'll probably have to wait 25mins for the scones but they are so worth the wait. While you're waiting, check out the charming interior and quirky little teapot collection!

An adorable tea house located in the The Rocks. I visited here as the Aroma Festival was on and being a coffee lover, I had to try any place in the area that might have had a special menu or offering due to this. Once you step inside this place, you feel transported to your grandma's house with the assortment of teapots, tea cosies, and knick knacks scattered around this multi story tea house. At first it seems kitsch but the baskets of knitting needles and yarn are quite endearing when you see people knit. They had a special menu on offer of Devonshire Coffee With Winter Spiced Scones (Served With A Cup Of Coffee). The scones were very fluffy and warm. They tasted like they came straight out of the oven (which it probably was as they specialised in them). They had a nice spice flavour to them but not overpowering. The accompanying Lattes were also very nice. They had a choice of jams on offer and we had selected Strawberry & Raspberry as well as cream. If in the area and searching for a delicious afternoon tea, I highly recommend giving this place a try. They do seem to get busy as lots of people waiting for tables. Please note that once you have snagged a table to go order on the ground level at the cashier and get a number or you could be sitting at your table for a while!

I love the location . The interior has a nasty, old smell. It's a novel idea and the selection of scones and tea is amazing. I was taken here for Mother's Day tea and we were seated in the patio section overlooking the flea market . It was beautiful . It definitely needs a revamp with broken crockery and old, musty decor.

Cute and cozy as the name implies :)! Tea and scones were both good, venue is nestled in to a historic building in the heart of the Rocks.

A Pure Gem in Sydney! Finally a place which has a Soul! The tea is a delight along with the homemade fresh scones. I had the pleasure to meet the owner (while she was baking the scones early morning) and she is as lovely as her place. Do yourself a favour and go explore that place!

This is a calm-cute-cozy Irish coffee in the middle of the busy The Rocks! The house smells fresh cake, you feels like in your gradma's kitchen. It is a perfect place to have a hot drink in a raining or cloudy day. The scones are so fresh, you can see the smoke coming from the bread. All the jams and cream are delicious homemade. The drinks are huge and well presented! The décor is something apart, very cute! You can see tea pot, spoons and knitting everywhere. Moreover, the cutlery and tableware are old fashioned. If you sit in the last floor you can hear the birds singing next to you :)

    Tea pot cosy.

We had the Tea Cosy Taster with three different finger sandwiches for each of us and two warm scones for each of us with two jams of our choice and cream. It also included a drink of our choice. I had the Hazelnut Shake and my wife had a Chai Tea. Best scones I've ever had. Everything was delicious. Everyone walking down the street or entering the shop was snapping photos of the cute knitting projects. Very quaint shop.

Forget "sandwiches", this place makes sandwizes because the guy that runs this place is a wizard!…read moreHe knows his flavours, he knows his breads (which he collects at 4AM every morning), and him and his staff go above and beyond to look after the customer. We drove past this place one afternoon and the wife and I knew we had to eat here. We found street parking and made our way over. From the outside the red neon sign gave a very strong impression. Inside it was a little bit dull but that doesn't matter when you start to read the menu board. All the menu items suggest bold American flavours. Choose your filling, bread (sourdough or rye) and whether you want it fresh or toasted. I was worried about my sandwich being toast until I was told that they'd add the lettuce afterwards to prevent it from wilting. The food came out quick. My wife asked for soy milk in her coffee which they had run out of. However one of the staff went to the corner store, JUST FOR US, to buy a new carton. I was amazed by this. This truly was a selfless act and to me it defined what great customer service is. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing. I ordered the hoagie sandwich. I know in The States a hoagie is this massive bread roll sandwich thing, but this being Australia they brought out a toasted sandwich which tasted just like a hoagie. Perfect down to the last bite. The staff are great company and extremely friendly. I want... nay, NEED to come back here to try some of the other sandwiches. A great place for a meal which isn't too heavy but will leave you thoroughly satisfied.

I believe that…read moreadventure begets adventure, so I think that my visit to this German bakery played a part in my decision this year to visit Germany. It was pouring rain in Sydney on a Saturday morning. Wanting to get brekkie, I left my hotel and manuevered through the rain to get over to the train station to go to Queen Victoria Building. I had walked by this bakery previously on another visit to QVB, so when I came across it on this morning I decided to opt to get some baked goods here rather than a sit down meal somewhere. Lüneburger offers a selection of fresh breads (loaves and rolls), pastries and sandwiches. Decided to order a salted pretzel ($3.50) and a marizpan cinnamon pastry ($4). After paying, I sat down at one of the tables in front of the bakery counter to munch on my purchases. The pretzel was soft and still warm. It was salty, but not extremely so to make you scour for some water. The only thing that would have made the pretzel better is if it had some sort of dipping sauce like mustard. Looking forward to trying the pretzels in Munich to see how they compare to the one here. As for the marzipan cinnamon pastry, it also was still slightly warm which was a surprise. The pastry is made with croissant dough and filled with a sweet almond filling that was superb. I am looking forward to my visit to Germany. If the baked goods there are as good as the ones at Lüneburger, I will be satisfied.

We came in thinking it was just a coffee shop, but it's essentially a restaurant that also has a focus on coffee. They have a full bar and a window to the outside where you can order just coffee and tea to go. As for the interior it's dimly lit and sort of has romantic date night vibes. We essentially only ordered coffee and one person ordered a cake slice. The lychee cake was pretty good per my aunt. A couple people ordered the Coco Loco, which is basically an espresso martini on steroids with Nutella and something like a Ferrero Rocher. I ordered a latte and their Affogato. The latte was very smooth and BI is arguably one of the best I've ever had. Is the Affogato a cheat code because they use like a tiramisu ice cream? You could argue that case. You can also buy their blends of coffee beans, subject to availability. While the latte was very smooth, I can't say it was mind blowing but it was still pretty good.

I also reserve 4 and 5 star reviews for exceptional service with unforgettable dining experiences. The ambience is intimate but also noisy. I will say the coffee here and in Australia in general is some of the best coffee I've ever had. I ordered (2) espresso martinis, pancakes, and the sirloin steak breakfast with a side hashbrown. My pancakes were stone cold but I will say the aesthetics on it made it edible. The pistachio butter cream was to die for. My steak was ok ; for the price I simply just wanted more. I could be wrong but I doubt it was even 6oz. If you have this place on your radar be sure to make reservations. This goes for almost every restaurant in Sydney. My server was Cassie who was very personable and even gave us tips on what to watch out for dining in Sydney.

Sandwiches, sandwiches, SANDWICHES!!!…read more Like Joey from Friends, I love me some sandwiches. I believe this place opened less than a month ago, and I noticed it when I went to Single Origin one day and made a note to check it out. As its namesake states, this place is a simple sandwich shop. The interior is cozy, the people friendly, and the music sets the mood. Me gusta. The place is clean, straight to the point with natural and fresh ingredients, affordable (under $10!) and tasty to boot. They don't do sides except for the bread they serve during breakfast, and they also have salads if you don't want to have a sandwich. Let's be real here though, why would you go to The Sandwich Shop and not order a sandwich? Depending on the sandwich, you get to choose what kind of bread you'd like as well between rye, sourdough, and whole wheat. The sandwiches on tap are: Chicken Schnitzel The Sandwich Club Rare Roast Beef Tuna + White Bean Smoked Salmon Bagel The Original New York Reuben Pulled Pork The Ultimate Salad Sandwich You can also create your own sambo if you like. My friend and I ordered the Rare Roast Beef and The Original New York Reuben. If you like cheese, you will like the Rare Roast Beef. The Fontina Cheese used to top this was massive and flavourful. The roast beef could have been a bit more rare for my taste but it was still very good nonetheless. The Reuben...the reuben was great. I wouldn't call it the Original New York Reuben but that's not a bad thing. The Reuben served here was very high quality, as the beef is a thicker and juicier slice than you'd get with a New York Reuben. The cheese, sauerkraut and dressing were great as well. Definitely the best "Reuben" I've had in Sydney so far. If you like sandwiches you can't go wrong here. I'll have to come back to try the others.
