What a random location for a cafe! But... so worth going to. And the advantage of its location is the ample parking! I went on a Sunday with two friends at 11am and pleasantly found no queue to get in. I had the smoked salmon hash which was well seasoned with crispy potatoes, and fresh smoked salmon. It's quite a decent serving which I had difficulty finishing. My friend had the lime coconut pancakes with pineapple done three ways which unfortunately would have benefited from syrup or something to make it less dry. We also shared a caramel macadamia cronut which was the best cronut I've had - so so flaky and just the right level of sweetness. Overall, one of the best brunches I've had lately!

Tucked away in the residential area of Ashfield, this cafe was surprisingly busy! The selection of milkshakes alone was enough to make my tummy rumble - finally settling on the gingerbread which tasted like I was drinking a cookie, and was HUGE. Surprisingly, I still managed to get through most of my brunch - ricotta pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. These were tasty but nothing amazingly special. The rest of the menu also looked like an interesting take on some standard fare - burgers, salads, breakfast bowls and more. I'd come here again, but if you're looking for that 'wow' factor I'd suggest hitting up some of the Summer Hill cafes popping up :)

This isn't bad for a local find. The wait is sometimes a bit trying but the food here is on point. Pulled pork and potato hash has to be my favorite dish here, worth a try.

For a quiet, suburban street, this corner cafe is abuzz with activity every weekend morning. My ricotta hotcakes were a bit more doughy and dense than I expected... Butterscotch malt milkshake was a delicious treat!

The staff are so nice and the food is amazing. The hot cake and smoked salmon are so delicious. The iced mocha is the best I have ever had in Sydney! I will come and try other food next time.

Finally had the chance to try out this cafe today. I thought the calm, cool, chill-laxing atmosphere was so pleasing, as opposed to the busy, loud and typical scene that you get generally. I ordered the Broad Beans on sourdough and my partner had the Cheeseburger, my dish was quite average in terms of taste. I also tried some of the cheeseburger, the patty was juicy and nicely cooked (they only do medium-rare). Coffee was good and service was friendly. Would we return? Sure. The prices were competitive however the menu is limited.

Milkbun Ribwich is the bomb. Great taste and combination although the cheese is kind of overpowering. I finished the whole burger though so that is a good sign.

Beautiful premises and perfect food on what seems to be a seasonal (and delicious) menu. The breakfast options are a particular treat.

Three of us had the butterscotch milkshake, and I can see why Mr 15 is a fan.

I nearly went for a Thai noodle place, simply because it wasn't the norm... at which point I saw Cafe D'or. Lebanese food done well is simply brilliant! For my lunch I chose the lamb shawarma grilled with onions, capsicum and mushrooms, served on a bed of rice and a side of fatoush (pic - http://frid.co/u7uHfz ). While I would have loved more shawarma in my serving... my plate was clean by the end of lunch. I only wish I didn't have to run off so I could have had some desert as well. This place was great, and if you are ever looking for something to munch on (even if you have a big group) you should certainly think about including this place in your list.

The menu is authentic, and the dishes are fresh and tasty. The fully licensed venue (BYO for wine only) also serves up a range of gluten free, halal and vegan dishes for those with special dietary requirements. Meals are perfect for sharing, so if you're looking for a restaurant that will cater for large groups, this is it. Prices are a little expensive, but the quality of the food makes up for it. Some of my favourite dishes include the chicken skewers, Shish Deluxe, coriander potatoes, mixed plate and rice pudding. Service is friendly and attentive, and the Saturday night belly dancer is pretty impressive too. Make sure you arrive by 8pm or you'll miss the show.

The crowd on a Saturday morning is a diverse mix of families, groups of friends, and couples sitting down at the brightly coloured tables (note- only seats about 20!), and the be-hatted barista is kept busy by frequent takeaway orders. The all day menu includes a mix of staple bacon-n-egg rolls through to fancier options, or you could go for my other half's favourite - a bacon egg pie! Then have a sweet to wrap up your brunch, perhaps a brownie-cookie ("Brookie", of course) and why not, another coffee to go.

A major part of this is the staff, super friendly, and having the ability to make it feel like a local hangout rather than a popular cafe. The coffee here is good, not the best, but good enough to order a second cup. It sits on the weaker side, so you might need to order a double shot if you are me - or go an espresso. The best thing about the cafe is the food. The menu is not extensive, but they have a few awesome options. My favorite is the smashed avo. I like their combination of flavours. Anyway, if you are in the area it is worth visiting this place.
