If you're not a restaurateur & you want to open a restaurant. Hire a restaurateur to do it for you. Otherwise it's simply not going to work. the best tasting item we had was the water. the poached egg was rock solid, the short rib dry and overcooked. the overall dish was so dry i had to take a sip of water with each bite. As for the crab... it's appalling, it seems like the person who created this this never tasted it. crab doesn't belong in omelettes. the eggs completely cover the taste of crab. yet another sign this place wasn't created by restaurateurs. i really was hoping the fancifully named lattes would save the otherwise overpriced experience. but it just added to the bland orchestra. 2 stars for the beautiful decor

I still have dreams about my daily acai bowl from concrete jungle. I spent a month in Sydney for work and hit this place every morning. The shop was beautiful and the staff was kind. Some of the best coffee and breakfast I had on my extended stay. Their loyalty program can't be beat! I am completely gluten free too and they were so helpful!

Found this place just a block or so from my hotel. The sticky rib Benedict was awesome. Would definitely recommend it. Also had their mocha and it was good not to sweet.

Beautiful cafe, amazing food! Loved walking around the area. Lots of allergy friendly food options.

Came here to do our morning meeting when we visited Sydney for work. It's a massive cafe that serves great coffee and food. We ordered the quinoa and coconut feta fritters which was good but had to sadly leave early because the music was too loud for a meeting, it was like an EDM party. It might be uplifting for some people, but for people like us who need to dive into our work, it was distracting. Other than that, we look forward to coming here again during our time off work!

Cute, clean breakfast spot! Lemon Ricotta Hotcakes were delicious & flavorful. Great ambiance.

A royally stacked sammie with braised beef, pastrami, provolone & over easy egg held together w/tarragon mayo. With sweet potato fries.

If you're a brunch lover like I am, you'll appreciate the offerings at Concrete Jungle. Whether it be light or hearty fare, this place hits the mark. Fruit muffins line the countertop aside the espresso machine for coffee pairings like Long Blacks and Flat Whites. This place is definitely a treasure trove in a tiny lane amidst the Australian concrete jungle.

I actually found this cafe in Kogorah, however I cannot find on yelp. I ordered poached eggs on toast and a coffee (charged $16). The welcome I received was lovely, warm and very thoughtful. I have no negatives. Dog friendly. I am going to come to the Chippendale cafe soon

This place really goes out of their way to make their food look pretty. Beware though this place is pretty pricey. See receipt attached. The pandan pancake had a beautiful presentation. Blue Majik bowl was light and refreshing (also had a beautiful presentation). Their eggs and toast plate was a basic plate but still pretty good. I don't normally order scramble eggs but I saw a group next to my table eating them and they looked so fluffy so I had to order them. I really enjoyed the decor and food at this establishment. Cheers!

The best and most unique pancake that I have ever tried. I'm usually not a breakfast fan and I'm not too big into pancakes (of course except for: banana or chocolate chip) but I kid you not, I fell in love with these pancakes. They were fluffy, tangy, and super filling. The eggs Benedict were also amazing! Would I recommend: 100% yes

Good was delicious! I got Avocado & egg toast. Sooo yummy! Great vibe. The coffee was great as well. I went with caramel latte and there was no regrets! I recommend!

A cool name and very apt for its location in Kensington St, Chippendale, where It surrounded by concrete pylons and towering apartment buildings. Industrial design with a huge artwork of a lions head with an urban mane made up of skyscrapers depicticting the name of the cafe 'Concrete Jungle'. We arrived early on a weekday, very lucky I believe, for it is extremely busy of a weekend with all the hype following their beautiful "blue majic" dish that is going viral on Instagram. This place is known for its colourful and fresh dishes including a beautiful pink dragonfruit chia pudding and an amazing wagyu bresaola with broccolini, leek, kale and tahini. On this occasion we tried two different dishes: the Nourish Bowl - a healthy plate of beetroot hummus which popped from the plate with bright pink colouring, kale, avocado, sweet potato, quinoa, tahini and tamari dressing. The flavours worked really well together and looked so inviting. One of the better healthy bowls we have tried. We also tried the blueberry and lemon hotcakes, light and fluffy, made with ricotta cream. A perfect meal to fill you in the morning. Topped with maple syrup, fresh fruits including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and choc coated coconut flakes. This was an absolutely lovely dish and presented really nicely with edible flowers. They have a range of teas, smoothies and coffees, made using the 'calibrate white' house blend. We had a latte and a chai. The café is a great spot, and a lot of interesting options on the menu. They also serve lunch from 12pm. If you're there on a weekend, the recommendation is to get there early.

Food was great, good presentation and a very nice combo of flavors. I had the Brekkie Mezze. Staff was excellent as well, very attentive and helpful.

The café occupies the corner of Garden st and Henderson Road and is industriously styled with cool marble and pink interior and a hanging garden. There's plenty of space inside and out, so I you won't be waiting long for a table. Serving Toby's estate coffee and a range of modern Australian dishes for both breakfast or lunch, as well as some sweet treats, is a popular café with the locals and visitors to the area alike. I've visited now on more than one occasion and the café is continuously striving to perfect their menu offerings. A group of us dined on this day to sample a number of the menu choices. The Grumpy's special of chili scrambled eggs were presented atop sourdough bread and a side of heirloom carrots, a heatlhy and wholesome meal. The winner of the day, and also one recommended to us was the Green Pea Smash with burrata and prosciutto. A great combination of flavours. From the sweets menu, we went for the Fig Brioche, topped with macadamia, honey, ricotta and vanilla ice cream (in place of the regular fairy floss). There were a few fruits topping it and would love to have a few more. The Grumpy's granola and pannacotta is also not only beautiful, but delicious and served with a raspberry pannacotta. Could be a sweet or breakfast ;) The venue also serves the famous cronuts (a mix of a doughnut and croissant, filled with a range of insides like cream, Nutella, caramel and topped with oreos etc. Surprise yourself. The guys at grumpy's are always friendly and hospitable. Make sure you pay them a visit.

We were there for the lunch menu and there are chicken or beef burgers with fries, pre prepared salads (plus you can add a protein) or the crispy skin salmon. We ordered the beef burger which was an excellent burger as the meat pattie was extremely nicely cooked, tender inside, topped with crispy bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and a siracha sauce sitting inside a toasted bun. The flavours worked nicely together. It came with seasoned fries. We also got the lovely crispy skin salmon with a salad - the rocket, chickpea, cauliflower one. Given that they are already made, the cauliflower was a bit moist but still tasty. Food came quickly by if you're just buying takeaway, there is also pre prepared sandwiches, frittata, muffins and cookies. They also sell a range of vegan slices. I went here today for the first ever Yelp Elite event with DOGGIES and I can promise you we all loved it. I know I was fortunate to get to sample quite a few things from the menu, and I appreciated the stellar service we received, but what really made this stand out was the quality of the ingredients. The bacon, caramel, I don't know what else... shut up... just take my money already... french toast was out of this world. Now, you have to understand, french toast is my most favorite brekkie item in the world, so when I tell you this was the best french toast I have ever had, believe me, it was GOOD. But it doesn't end there, oh no... The coffee was a single origin roast that was smooth and delicious, so I give them big points for making a great flat white (essential to my morning routine). The other items that I sampled, including a quinoa dish with the delightful name of "Birdy Num Num" (kudos to the Peter Sellers' reference, I got it and had a good chuckle), something called "Cinderella's dish" with a poached egg and pumpkin, and a few other items, were all tasty and creative. Did I mention how fresh everything was? It was obvious that this is a place where the food is being made with love and care, I love it when all the details come together. And, of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention what a great time Rufus had. Rufus is a fussy, and hyperactive 15-month-old Mini Doxie. He loved the "puppachino" and the camraderie... In fact, he still hasn't fully recovered from this morning's outing... so that's another yelp of approval for you. So, all in all, great little cafe, worth a few extra minutes of slowing down in the morning and stopping to check it out. You will not regret it.
