I had a delicious falafel bowl at the Walrus. The bowl was filling and included lettuce, eggplant, avocados and vegetables. Service was relatively quick although it took a while to get the server to the table. The place has a cafe ambiance and many people also go for the coffee. There is a focus on healthy foods but you can also order a cheeseburger although I am glad I resisted.

This is a good little café in the CBD. I ordered a corn fritter dish for breakfast and the portion seemed huge for Australians. It's like American portion, and I couldn't finish it. It was a delicious savory dish nonetheless. I also got the Mars caramel slices for my plane ride, and it totally satisfied my sweet tooth.

This restaurant was an absolute sensation!! My wife and I were visiting from the states and both ordered the French toast. WOW!! It knocked my socks off. Not to be missed!!

I haven't been underwhelmed of the food and the service then when I went to the Walrus today with my friend. We waited like 45 minutes for food to find out after asking them what was happening that our tickets or order was printed. And when it did come (we ordered the Walrus Breakfast), they forgot the hashbrowns which was the only reason we had breakfast at that time. The food was very bland and no flavor. To top it off , I had a hair in my coffee after I drank from it. Disappointed

The cotton candy pancakes and the avocado toast. Loved the toast, but the pancakes weren't my speed.

The Walrus had a mix of simple food with unique spices and flavors. The service was great and the decor was simplistic and clean with access to an open air area and patio section. We went twice during our stay in Sydney, as we were close by at the Kimpton Margot. P.S. They have some of the best Chai Masala Tea I've ever had.

Stopped by for lunch today around midday. I ordered 'The Walrus free range chicken and quinoa salad - Comes with pistachio, honey roasted bacon, spring peas, shaved fennel, Parmesan & house creamy dressing' $19 whilst my friend Sarah got the Vego Delux Sandwich for $17. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and they both were big servings! Staff were pleasant and tentative. Overall, it was a good first visit and I would go back.

This is one of the newest additions to the cafes in Sydney CBD. And not unfortunately even though the decor is inviting and everything looks like this is going to be an awesome cafe, it is just below average. Specifically as there are many great cafes around it. The coffee was meh. Best way to describe it. Serving Toby's Estate, which personally I'm not a fan of. Nevertheless, it was brewed badly making it grainy and to the point that I couldn't finish it. Now you have to understand I'm obsessed with coffee, so a cup has to be bad for me not to finish it. If you want a great cup go to Central Roasters around the corner. Then came the food. I honestly don't expect that much when it comes to breakfast, but clearly neither did the cook, as what came out was a disappointment - especially for the price that they are asking.

Smashed avocado toast with feta and poached eggs - one of the best I've had!

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Sydney! The atmosphere is very cute and fresh - loved the white tile and plant walls. My sourdough avocado toast was delicious, and the servers were friendly. Prices were also reasonable for the large portions. Stop in the Walrus, you will not be disappointed!

Chicken and Caesar salad small $7.50 Best in town.

Coffee was pretty dismal everywhere this trip. Walrus was the best cup of Joe on our journey.

The service and meals were excellent. Recommend the Italian Scramble, but well done, runny scrambled eggs are not a good thing.

Breakfast so good, had to go two days in a row. Very nice atmosphere, and also suitable for a quick coffee & dash for those also in a hurry.

First impressions count, and GC had me at hello... That 'tash, is to curling what.... Curling is to the winter olympics. Awesome sauce! I fully expect moustache rides will be on the menu if business ever hits the skids. Alas, despite the gleeful charm of the curly coifed one, nothing short of an excellent coffee with character was going to make the all important lasting impression on me and sadly in that area GC disappoints. I gave GC the Soy Latte test and the Long Black test and it just doesn't measure up to other coffee in the area. I like strong coffee with complexity and GC just doesn't have that. It's not the worst but it is very weak despite using the same La Marzocco espresso machine (that Barista's rave about for ease of use) as other places in the area. The service at GC however is very good and to some people that's first priority. So if you aren't too fussy about your coffee and are looking for a smile and a spring in your step from an energetic soul then get your morning fix at GC, and start the day on a happy note.

We came in thinking it was just a coffee shop, but it's essentially a restaurant that also has a focus on coffee. They have a full bar and a window to the outside where you can order just coffee and tea to go. As for the interior it's dimly lit and sort of has romantic date night vibes. We essentially only ordered coffee and one person ordered a cake slice. The lychee cake was pretty good per my aunt. A couple people ordered the Coco Loco, which is basically an espresso martini on steroids with Nutella and something like a Ferrero Rocher. I ordered a latte and their Affogato. The latte was very smooth and BI is arguably one of the best I've ever had. Is the Affogato a cheat code because they use like a tiramisu ice cream? You could argue that case. You can also buy their blends of coffee beans, subject to availability. While the latte was very smooth, I can't say it was mind blowing but it was still pretty good.

I also reserve 4 and 5 star reviews for exceptional service with unforgettable dining experiences. The ambience is intimate but also noisy. I will say the coffee here and in Australia in general is some of the best coffee I've ever had. I ordered (2) espresso martinis, pancakes, and the sirloin steak breakfast with a side hashbrown. My pancakes were stone cold but I will say the aesthetics on it made it edible. The pistachio butter cream was to die for. My steak was ok ; for the price I simply just wanted more. I could be wrong but I doubt it was even 6oz. If you have this place on your radar be sure to make reservations. This goes for almost every restaurant in Sydney. My server was Cassie who was very personable and even gave us tips on what to watch out for dining in Sydney.
