This was a fun location for brunch !! It was cosy .. upbeat .... with a great happy busy vibe going on. The menu was fantastic with something for everyone ..... as well as all the yummy drinks that accompany such diverse food. The price was right and service quick & spot on. I think this is the perfect spot to launch yourself for a fun day down Glebe point Road.

Thinking vegetarian or Vegan bear the University of Sydney ? This is the place to go . I had the eggplant mushroom stroganoff over brown rice - so yummy. My friend had the falafel platter - hummus was excellent . The veg pie was rich and tasty. Even if you're not vegan or vegetarian - the food is worth coming for

Although Badde Manors does generally have, true to its name, bad manors, I still find my way back to this place time and time again. It might be because of the delicious toasted bagels I love so much or the seductively tempting desert menu filled with ricotta cannoli, triple chocolate mud cake and sticky date pudding. Once we waited over an hour and a half for our food because our waiter took the order home with her when she clocked off at the end of her shift. There were no apologies and no offers of a deducted bill or free desert at the end of the meal. Another time I waited over 40 minutes for my bagel and it came out charred to the end of the earth. I was on a lunch break and didn't have time to wait another 40 minutes so I got a refund and left. These little mishaps keep me from being a regular at Badde Manors but aren't enough to keep me away for good. If you are a vegetarian Badde Manors is definitely a place you should visit. And even if you're not, you will enjoy just the same.

Badde Manors is a vegetarian's happy place. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the solely vegetarian cafe offers a really good selection of meat-free meals. My favourites are the Lentil Burger (with both aioli and hommous, big enough to share between two), the Vegie Nachos (the small serve of which is also big enough for two), the Haloumi Bagel and the toasted Pumpkin & Feta Focaccia. Ooh, and the Vegie Lasagne, Mediterranean Platter, Antipasto Platter and Eggplant Schnitzel rank pretty highly. Oh, and the Tajine. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, pretty much everything on their menu is enticing. A fair few of the meals can be made vegan as well, and all eggs are free-range. As a non-meat eater, it's reassuring to know that it's impossible for meat to make it anywhere near your plate. Also, it's extra nice to know that you can order absolutely anything off the menu. And, for the carnivores, it's nice to realise that a meal without meat can not only fill you up, but can be delicious! Whilst I've heard that Badde Manors can occasionally live up to its name, I've never received the kind of service it once was infamous for. In saying that, hostility clearly rises when the boss enters the building. On busy days this is less noticeable, as all the customers are too busy enjoying their food to pick up on the slightly uncomfortable working environment. The coffee isn't fantastic (especially with the heavy Glebe Point Rd coffee competition) but a few of their other drinks more than make up for this. Badde Manors is famed for the best chai tea in Glebe (made with rosewater and fresh ginger) and the most refreshing summer drink comes in the form of an icy apple-mint frappe. Furthermore, the desserts at Badde Manors are perfect for a late night, post-cinema treat (or post-breakfast dessert). The home made tiramisu takes the crown, followed closely by ricotta canolis, toasted cream cheese and cherry strudels with icecream and baked ricotta cheesecake.

Burgers x Hip Hop…read more I could leave it at that but actually I can't because this place has it going on in a way that makes me proud to be alive. Was going to try the cheeseburger until the guy at the counter told me about an off-menu burger called B.W.A. (an homage to NWA. Straight outta Roesebery, yo!). It's a double stack jacked up with cheese and bacon and house made hot sauce and it's f--king delicious, like a light from heaven shines down on you when you're eating it and the devil pops up to give you a hot sauce high five all at the same time. These dudes love music - they're DJs and man the decks on Saturday nights - but they also love their mums, so much that they named their fresh juices after them. I mean. Can you just. Which is to say, that is all right in my book. Oh, and try the tater tots. They come in a tin pail and are pretty great. The chocolate shakes are drizzled with a ton of chocolate syrup and frothed up the wazoo, it's a heady mix. Ain't nobody doing what these guys are doing.

F me. This place…read moreopened up less than 10 minute walk from my house and it contains two things that I love. Burgers and Hip Hop. I don't know how I didn't know about this place earlier since it opened about a month ago...but I've been twice in less than a week now, and probably coming up on three times soon. They have hip hop tunes playing constantly, and sometimes they'll have someone on the 1's and 2's. They offer several types of burgers from their Belfield Burger, their Cheeseburger, their Chicken (fried) burger, their Pork burger, a Veggie burger, and two brekkie burgers. Each of these is $8-12. Sides come at $5 a pop and can be chips, wedges, fried mushrooms, or tater tots. If you want wings they're $10 a pop. They also serve beer and wine if you're keen. The burgers can be customised as well, so if you want to add another patty, add some bacon, add more cheese, add onion rings or whatever else you desire they can probably do that. I've had their cheeseburger (double,) chicken burger, and their current special the BWA, which is a tribute to Straight Outta Compton and kind of huge and ridiculous. The chicken burger was only OK for me, I love their buns and the chicken was cooked fine, it was just a little bland and needed just a little more flavour. The cheeseburger was AWESOME...just burger porn to the fullest. Medium rare patty, melted gooey cheese, what's not to like? This burger is a pretty dirty and greasy burger like Mary's so if that's your style you'll enjoy this one. BWA was just a monster and had a bit of a spicy kick. This place is trouble for me...

Milk Bar by Cafe Ish is in a once-forgotten, swiftly gentrifying strip of Regent Street, Redfern. At the Milk Bar, there are a few things to note. They bake "absolutely bloody everything" (their terminology, not mine), and it's all absolutely bloody tasty. Seriously good stuff. Tarts! Nut Tart! Jam Tart! Lemon Tart! Best to come here very hungry, and on a sugar low. One of the main benefits of the Milk Bar is it's sooooo cheap! Cheese burgers are $5!!! they're small but tasty fare indeed. The patties are meaty and don't taste processed, and usually served with some well cooked onions and tasty sauce. You can have everything doubled up for $9, and then add other extras - so it's kind of a build-you-own burger situation. Another big deal: they have generously made milkshakes -- weird and wonderful flavours like the choc-coconutty "bounty" or the caramel miso shake, or salted peanut butter and jelly, or Super choc, or Orient express (with green tea ice cream in it). Like I said, come here on a sugar low, and Milk Bar will sort you out. One note: the space itself is pretty awful. They don't seem to have sorted out the exhaust fan situation so it's smoky, smells like hot chip oil, and right now kinda cold. They've only been open 2 weeks so that might be something they get sorted with time. The other option is to sit outside on Regent street, which is sunny but very busy with road traffic. Look, I'm not complaining much, it is so delightful to have such a cheap, amazing quality cafe nearby. The owners are sometimes a bit stressed, but they're very sweet and they mean well. And they can cook. NB: Cash only right now. Oh right - AND THEY HAVE A JUKE BOX!!
