What I really liked about this place was the fact that it was a Vietnamese "hot pot" restaurant. Now I know, you're probably a bit confused what I just literally said. Let me explain, what I mean by that statement is the fact that when ever someone thinks about eating at a Vietnamese restaurant, whats the FIRST thing you think about...yup Phó (pronounced FUH as if you're about to say the F-Bomb, NOT FO! C-Mon people!), Vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, etc. etc. Well if you're up for a fresh new bite from a different piece of the country of Vietnam, well your in for a WONDERFUL treat! The beef Lok Lak (fun fact it is also a Cambodian dish) was very tasteful and the presentation was intriguing; Kudos to the chef! Wrap them noodles up with the romain lettuce, along with mint, (I wish that they would include some fresh cucumbers, and bean sprouts) and dip away in the fish sauce, using your HANDS (It took me back to when I had an epic travel in Vietnam...oh yeah...EPIC!). That's how it's eaten in a asian household! So don't try to be ALL clean by using chop sticks like your some kind pro asian, trying to prove something. For those who might not be too familiar with Vietnamese dishes, Lok Lak is a super tasty yet simple beef dish that is rarely on a Vietnamese menu (at least here in "MERICA") so you might want to try it (Fyi: another RARE dish that I would HIGHLY recommend to the chef, would be to add Bánh Xèo to the menu as a homage to the country, a lot of Americans have no clue what the hell that dish is). Now for the Ox tail hot pot soup...WOW! I mean WOW, WOW, WOW! KUDOS to the chef again! Let me begin with the presentation. It comes out on its personal hot pot (menu says "feeds one individual", but really it can easily feed two individuals, leaving them feeling like giddy little happy piggy's) on a wood burner, SUPER DOPE! They also bring out traditional south east asian herbs, which you add to the soup, which I love! The flavors to the soup were JAM PACKED! Also ask for the side condiments: Which come in a tray of three little pots: 1.Fish sauce with cilantro 2. Diced up Thai chilies, 3. Fermented beans. When you add them condiments to your soup...wait for it...wait for it...EXPLOSION IN YOUR MOUTH! It definitely takes the soup to a HIGHER level of food conscience! The ambiance was kool, the customer service was kool too. If I can choose one; well okay I lied, maybe two things for some minor adjustments; it would be 1. Price tag! (YIKES). For the type of food and the amount you get (specifically the Lok Lak) it was WAY TOO PRICEY (but I guess thats typical inflation in the "Country of California" LOL) 2. The food timing took a bit long, so just don't come in ready to eat someones arm off, EVEN YOUR OWN, but the wait is still worth it. With that being said I still would come back and would recommend this place for any foodie. Make sure you come with the expectation to "pay to play!", I mean UNLESS your a HIGH ROLLER, then you're all good. Yêu nhiều! read more
