Melissa was my bartender and provided great service with professionalism. I will be back due to her exceptional attentiveness.

Found great wings and good vibes to kick my weekend off right. Friendly service, clean, interesting people having a good time, good after work spot. read more

I very much enjoyed this establishment. Prices are low for a relatively expensive area. Their philly cheesesteak with whiz is awesome. I totally recommend that with a good beer. My girl got the teriyaki salmon. That was a bit small for the price but the mashed potatoes were awesome. Other people in our party got some delicious looking stuff like the stuffed potato skins, mussels, oysters and nachos. Next time i am in the area i will stop in and try a few more things. It was a nice crowd in there too. Families rubbing shoulders with bikers and sports fans. Everyone enjoying themselves. read more

I used to have Quesadillas from that place in the past and it was tasty. Now, it is a different story. The pita you can barely chew because was kind of out of refrigerator, pulled pork was at least few days old with some kind of smell. The whole quesadilla was filled with broiled onion and green pepper. I do not recommend this place to eat if you want fresh good food. read more

Good vibe. The food is good. Get the wings crispy! They have good happy hour menu. Their menu is like a treasure chest. They have food ranging from burgers to tacos to po-boy. The ahi taco and shrimp taco, you have to try! Po-boy is really good! Their classic burger is really good as well. read more

The Backyard Grill is awesome! I travel to the area often for work and went in last night and had dinner at the bar. I ordered a sirloin which was very tasty, but there are lots of great items on the menu so I will be going back! If you like to sit at the bar, ask for Jason - it was a busy night but I felt like he was my own personal bartender. 5 stars all around! read more

The food was good. The very good service looked clean if I recommend it, I think I'd go again

We were in town to p/u a new car and decided to grab a quick bite before we left town. We opted for Backyard Grill, mainly b/c my husband was slightly hungover and wanted bar food. Upon entering I was a little on the fence but hey you can't go wrong with bar food (right?). Once we entered I was starting to second guess myself, the smell of stale bar and cigarettes was overwhelming but hey I committed. We order a burger, sweet potato fires and the kiddos shared some chicken tender. The service was slow and the owner (I assume) was in a horrible mood (could hear him on the phone yelling). Besides the smell, the sticky floor and the slow service, my burger was actually cooked to perfection. Would I go back, likely not. Does that mean you shouldn't try it, totally up to you and what your mood is. read more

I just don't understand why such mediocre food came to $71. That's more than longhorn steakhouse, and that's with Drinks, apps, and entrees. We got Mozzarella sticks, artichoke dip, two alc drinks, two breakfast burgers.. $71. The drinks were good, the dip was good, and the burgers were good. I am a mozz stick fanatic & they were gross. They tasted microwaved. Overall, I wouldn't go here again & I should have waited the extra 30 min for a table at longhorn. My waitress was super nice. The place reeks of cig smells & I had to be moved to a booth instead of being outside. Covid rules don't apply to this place, so be aware. @the manager- like I said, for mediocre food, the prices are stupid. I didn't need you to tell me the prices, I have eyes for that. Second, yeah.. $71 WITHOUT the tip for my waitress. Second- no type of social distancing at the bar! Multiple people have mentioned this on your reviews, you don't take it serious to the slightest dude. Third-Again, multiple people have mentioned the disgusting smoke smell & it f'ing reeks. They smoke on the bar outside, I witnessed it before having to ask if I could go inside because of it! Get your business together. read more

We stopped here on the way to the airport to grab a late lunch. The food was delicious. I had a Backyard roasted salad with salmon. I highly recommend it. It was very good with a champagne vinaigrette dressing. My husband had the BYG burger which he said was phenomenal. The two employees with interacted with were really nice. read more

Stopped for lunch. Good steak and cheese and the flat bread was good also. Beer selection ok, but would not blow you away. Waiter was very good. Clean establishment. We are outside which was fine but if you're looking for a "view" this isn't it. I would stop again. read more

Soooo delicious!! My backyard burger was absolutely amazing! Burger was medium like i asked and the toasted brioche bun added a nice touch. Fries were well flavored and crispy and the steamed vegetables were nicely salted. I asked for no milk or cheese and they obeyed my request. Definitely recommend, especially if you're lookin for a burger read more

We'd give a zero star if we could. We DO NOT recommend this place. What we experienced yesterday was beyond belief. An unmasked waiter came to take our order. He admonished us for wearing masks and said something about Chinese spewing lies. When he brought the food out, he pointed to our masks, asking "What's this?" demanding an explanation to the reason we wear masks. We should have left right then, but we stayed and ate the mediocre mussel appetizer with a fourth of the mussel shells not opened or broken. We left without ordering our full meals and don't intend of ever coming back. read more

I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Worst experience of my life. I ordered the backyard steak tips and I was honestly disgusted. My server offered the Alfredo sauce as an option and when I sent it back the manager tried to argue with me saying I made modifications and labeled me as the girl who sent her drink back and replaced it with a beer... Not one time was I asked if everything was okay or good. I had to go look for staff myself to ask for napkins or even my server. I will never return here and I wish I never even paid my bill. read more

We had a private party here on Saturday night and they were wonderful. We had a dedicated spot on the patio, which they set up in conjunction with us. Our servers (Danny and Pablo) were wonderful and attentive to all of us, even accommodating separate checks for a large party. Our food came out promptly, was fresh and tasty. They did a great job and made our night very memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you so much! read more

We came here recently and really enjoyed our time. I ordered the Monday special, which was the 12oz New York Strip with mashed potatoes and vegetables and a house salad. All that food was at a very reasonable price. I think it was like $14. If you get the same dish on a different night, it would be around $24. The steak was cooked just right. The vegetables were a bit too buttery for my taste but it was okay. We also ordered the chicken quesadilla from the kids menu and it was huge portions. Only have of it was eaten up. I was impressed to see how much food was provided. The waitress was nice and waited patiently for us as we took a while to order our meal but by the end of our meal, she was no place to be found. The restaurant was not very busy at all so we were puzzled as to why we weren't able to locate her. Overall, we had a great experience and won't mind coming back to try one of the other specials that they have on a different night. read more

I frequent this place for lunch, drinks, and sporting events. Lots of TV's to watch your favorite team. The bartenders are very friendly and helpful. On top of this, the food is remarkably good. Outstanding babyback ribs, handheld sandwiches, and salads. The only drawback to this place is that they allow a couple of bad apples who are always intoxicated to remain there a bit too long. Everyone likes to have a good time, but not be bothered by others. Overall - the restaurant is comfortable and pleasant to have a meal and watch your game of choice. Outdoor patio for smokers or fresh air in the warmer weather. read more

The dinner we have were pretty good. Service is prompt and attentive. The manager even came by a few times to see if we were okay. We had chicken quesadilla as appetizer , burger and prime rib for dinner. The burger was good and tasty, the prime rib was tender, however, the seasoning was uneven, some part was well seasoned and some part was bland, the same for the mashed potatoes served with the prime rib. I hope the chef can season the food evenly, to improve the over all quality of the food. Second visit today, much improved prime rib, seasoning just right for the whole plate this time. Tuna sashimi is more like sesame tuna salad, it is pretty good, but it was not what we expected. We had combo fajita this time, the taste is good, but shrimp is a bit overcooked. Manager came by at the end of meal and asked how they can improve and was very open. Good practice! Hope to see this restaurant will keep improving. read more

Delivery order from GH: Two burgers, potato skins and onion rings. What I liked: The potato skins were great, large wedges with lots of cheese and bacon on the side (as requested). Would definitely order again. Burger #1 was cooked as requested (medium rare). What I didn't like: Burger #1 did not have the toppings requested. Burger #2 was waaaaaay overcooked (was supposed to be medium rare) and lacked all the toppings requested. Largely tasteless - I didn't finish it and threw away what remained. Finally, the onion rings were tasty, but we only received six rings. That's over $1/ring. Not alot of bang for the buck here - would definitely not order these again. Overall, not so great. There are much better options for burgers in the Chantilly area. read more

Avoid on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights when there is a "DJ" and "dancing." I still can't get the images out of my head. I think I watched all the characters on stage at a Jerry Springer show suddenly get up and start grinding on each other. When a couple of loner 55-60 year-old white guys creepily tried to get in on a booty-dance "sandwich" set to gangsta rap music, I just had to pull out the camera phone. Naturally. It was dark and the few pictures turned out crappy, so I put the phone away. Suddenly, a random girl came angrily over to our table and copped an attitude with me, saying she was going to kick me out for taking videos of HER to put up on YouTube. I said I was not and asked her if she worked there. She went off in a huff to a bouncer/manager, who came over and told us to not take any more videos or pictures; however, because of the lack of signs, they sure as hell weren't deleting what I had already taken. I also looked around and made sure I wasn't a) in a strip club, or b) back in eastern Europe at some sketchy club with angry Russian bouncers and a "FACE CONTROL" sign on the door. Nope, still a sports bar in Chantilly. Moral of the story: if you're going to be ashamed of something, DON'T do it. Not only was the girl ashamed of herself, but so are the people running the place. They obviously don't want word getting out what it's really like on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (their feature nights, by the way, on their website) so that you too are duped into checking out the place. And now they are trying to get my uploaded photos removed, saying that they do not "broadly represent the business." Uhhh. Right. read more

My family and I tried Backyard Grill for the first time on Monday evening. We enjoyed the food very much. I had never heard of Backyard Grill, but I had a $25 certificate from Restaurant.com. So we headed over there to check out the food. The initial experience was okay. I had mentioned that I had a $25 certificate. They were cool with me using it, but then told me that I could not use it towards their daily special (steak). That bummed me out. After we ordered, our waitress mentioned that her manager approved of us using the $25 certificate for part of our order, while getting two of our three steaks discounted. I guess our order was pretty sizable. My family loved the steaks they ordered! Perfectly cooked to their desired pinkness. I had the chicken fajitas. The dish was great and delicious. My son had the chicken quesadillas, and he really enjoyed it since he ate like half of it. One small complaint. Even though the place didn't look very busy, our waitress was missing a lot. Not a big deal, but it did delay us getting out of there when we were done. This was a nice place to eat. We may come back again. read more

Came here for a lunch with coworkers because they have a great outdoor seating area and it was a beautiful day. It didn't start off well, the waiter took our orders and brought drinks out. My glass was dirty on the inside, definitely not cleaned. Next thing to go wrong was how long it took for the food to come out. It seems like a lot of business professionals come here for lunch and it was not busy so I don't understand why it took so long to come out. Fortunately the food was good. I got the ka pow shrimp tacos. 3 tacos for $13 was definitely overpriced, something I wouldn't have minded if the service and cleanliness was better. The waiter also disappeared for long periods and when we asked for the check, he brought them out and left them on a table behind us and disappeared again for another 10min. Saving 15% from checking in was not worth it. I definitely don't see myself going out of my way to eat here again, maybe grab a beer and watch a game but I can't imagine what service is like when it's busy when it's so bad when they are slow. I will definitely steer my coworkers elsewhere for lunch next time. Unfortunate with the outdoor area they have. read more

**bar review only** Oh Backyard Grill, please don't ever change. I used to come here for happy hour at least once a week when I worked at the airport bc it was on my way home. As such, I was excited to see it was still around when I was in the area this weekend. Turns out it was everything I remembered. Sure, it's a little bit of a dive; but they have a fun patio, nice staff and generally good (albeit loud) music at night. That's exactly what I was in the mood for at the time, so I had a blast! I can't speak to the food or the inside bar, but the outside bar is A-OK with me. read more

Well, I guess it's just an easy coast chain or something, but I was mildly unimpressed. The portions were small for the price, especially coming in at ~ $14 bucks a plate for lunch. I had a tasty steak pasta creation, my gal grabbed $8 bucks worth of Buffalo chicken fingers, and her mom had the stuffed shrimp for $19 bucks. If it were half this, I would be a fan, but at current pricing, your money could be much better spent at a nicer restaurant. All in all, it was $75 with tip for three of us to eat an 'ok' lunch. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten my lunch on for that at Red Lobster. Oh well. read more

My family and I stopped in today being new to the area and sampling local restaurants. We all got sick. The floors were dirty and there was clearly growth on floor side of bar. We ordered the sampler and mozz sticks which is mostly fried food and should be safe. the ranch side was warm and spoiled. The wings tasted like someone had just put hand sanitizer on before tossing them in Buffalo sauce. Our server left a lot to be desired as well. He was rude and short like we were inconveniencing him by being there outside normal meal hours. He took our order, delivered our food and never checked on us again. The bar staff noticed and asked if we wanted new drinks, at that point we were finished and just wanted our check. We do not recommend. read more

I've been for dinner. I've been for happy hour. I've been for late night. Meh. It's always so disgustingly smoky. The drinks are good. The staff isn't particularly friendly. The bathrooms are clean enough. The clientele is "different" late night. Always a place to sit. Never a wait. Nothing special. read more

Backyard Grill - Hi! - Sports Bars Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

Food okay, service great for large parties when we have group dinners here once a month. I tried the special of the evening, fried chicken tenders on a bun with cheese and marinara sauce. It was tasty, but very fried and carb loaded and didn't do well for my stomach later on. It wasn't the fault of Backyard Grill, but something I should have known wouldn't be a good choice. I still to burgers and wings from now on! Great place to watch sports on their big screen TVs. If a game you want to watch isn't on a set, its easy to ask your server to change one of the TVs. I always look forward to visit this neighborhood place each month my group meets. read more

Happened upon this cool lil sports last Friday night. Friendly bartenders and, according to them, there's normally a dj Pomegranate margarita - delicious and strong! Honey bbq wings - delicious! (One of my favorite adjectives, as you can see) I plan to return on a livelier night - it was late and pouring when I came. read more

Oh come on guys, Backyard isn't *that* bad. This place is good for late nights-- it's never too terribly busy and they normally serve til at least 1.30a. There is also ALWAYS a place to sit (most of the times right at the bar!!). Sure the place could use a face lift... the decor and overall look is worn down and the tables in the bar area are a little cramped... but otherwise, it's a chill spot. read more

Located next to CVS, Backyard Grill stays open the latest on the weekend compared to other bars in the area. Which is the ONLY reason I come here, I promise. I have found that the later you visit Backyard Grill, the better. It's always fun to see drunk girls dancing and flirting with men. Drunk girls humiliating themselves in public is my idea of a good time. On Saturday nights, they have a live band and a DJ. The DJ tends to get more patrons but I actually enjoyed listening to the live band as I made my journey to the restroom. I have always known the drinks to be decent in taste and price. As for the food, it's a bar. Nothing to write home about. But if you are trying to soak up the alcohol, I would go for the chicken wings. read more

Worst experience ever ...the Tex Mex Roll was burnt, turkey burger had no flavor and my steak pasta was saltless ... I have seen a lot of good reviews but not sure if after drinking folks have no idea what they are eating or the food is really good. Mediocre bar. The bartender not only was not wearing a mask but also other than her bitchy and rude attitude, took too long to serve me one beer. She was talking for 3 minutes to the only couple at the bar about how much she hates something. I asked her name. Britney or something. She served me the beer without a mask and kept talking while she did it. That's gross. We are in a pandemic. She did not even have an appropriate face covering. Just a bandana around her neck. Management should know that is not the right face covering. Won't be coming here anytime soon read more

Backyard Grill is a fun little sports bar that's conveniently located in the suburbs. The service is generally slow (this place always seems to be crowded at night), but the bartender we had was very friendly. The environment is mixed with rowdy frat-party like patrons and people just trying to watch games on one of their many TVs. We just went here for drinks and appetizers. Drinks were more on the weak side, but I guess they have to be this way due to the late night crowd. The Ginger Scented Calamari was pretty good, fried calamari over a lobster ginger sauce and marinara, yum. The Ka Pow Shrimp was delicious! Fried shrimp glazed with sweet chili sauce over lettuce. I would go here again for happy hour and outside bar on a nice evening. It's spacious and has a fun atmosphere. Another plus for having free wifi!! read more

I should have realized there was a problem when I arrived at the place for Sunday Brunch and only one table was occupied. It was a bunch of bikers drinking beer at 10am. The rest of the place was completely empty. The menu looked pretty good, however the first thing out of the servers mouth was "Our coffee maker is broken" Now I am not a coffee addict but someone couldn't come up with a solution for the handful of potential customers that may stop in and want coffee with breakfast?? The food was ok; one platter was missing breakfast potatoes and the sausage and the ham steak were cold. read more

They don't follow Covid bar protocol. People sit shoulder to shoulder with no intervention. Never in my entire life have I seen an off duty bartender get drunk and extort guests to leave 90% tips. I guess you see something new everyday huh Message to the owner, you may want to talk to your staff about the drinking policy and how they conduct themselves. Never in any situation should your staff be walking around demanding people tip a certain amount. To go over to someone and tell them 20+% isn't enough and then they personally write in their own amount is beyond appalling. I didn't cause a scene at the time but I gotta say that's just unbelievable. read more
