I had questions about what appeared to be major gum surgery instead of Laser and the office manager replied: "Would you rather lose your teeth it's your decision". Concern and review pertains to quality of care by current dentist and one office staff I found highly unpleasant, unprofessional, with a dismissive tone and attitude who suggested I take a "mind over matter" framework in relation to what has now become deep pain within a tooth with a 30 plus year old crown and anchor for an equally old bridge. The dentist asked few clarifying questions about the pain and documented sensitivity, concluding no need for treatment. Dissatisfied with this limited assessment, I asked and was given 2 referrals upon request. That said, confidence level in the dentist has greatly decreased and frustration with the office staff member's attitude along with advice extending far outside her role, has left me disappointed. BEWARE: The front office & billing staff is passive aggressive and impatient (screenshots for…read morereference). I was referred for a gum graft and paid $1.4k out of pocket on the day of surgery. A billing staff member who identified herself as Erin told me that my primary insurance (Delta) had overpaid and the insurance company typically refunds the credit to the patient. When I contacted my primary insurance, they told me this does not happen. I was then told by the same billing staff member that the office - not the insurance - would be issuing the refund, contradicting what I had previously been told. During this process, I received a voicemail from them instructing me to stop contacting my insurance and let the office "handle it" as that would be "in my best interest"?? When I asked for an invoice or itemized statement to understand the charges and credit on my account, I was told that invoices are not provided. And to top it off, I have to get 2/4 teeth revised (without IV anesthetic which the office will not cover) because half the gum graft was unsuccessful.

The staff assured him it was fine and expressed understanding and rebooked him to come in today at 9:30am. Today, when he arrived for his scheduled appointment, he was informed that it had been canceled, and that a message had been left for him. We did not receive any messages or missed calls from them. He told the receptionist that and her reply was "OH" that's all she said like she knew they didn't call him. When he attempted to reschedule, he was informed that due to the previously missed appointments, he would need to pay $200 upfront for the next session. ODD why didn't they say that before? Makes no sense to us. The demeanor of the staff during this interaction was unprofessional, as it appeared that today's visit was intentionally scheduled as a sort of payback for his previously missed appointments, they never intended to see him and planned to waste his time just to tell him that and smirk while doing so. Not a great way to treat a patient. So unprofessional.
