Wow! Bacci Pizzeria Taylor Street has really stepped up their game!!! In my previous review I mentioned the revamping of their menu. Tonight my boyfriend and I noticed an additional change. You know it's been a while when you come in and something seems different, they updated the decor/atmosphere and it looks great! It definitely gives the place a new vibe. Tonight's experience was such a pleasure! As always, the staff really do their best to make sure you leave happy! Living in the area as mentioned in my previous review, it's a nice touch knowing they remember you face and welcome you back with a smile. They always make ordering very easy and do their best to keep up with any special requests. Tonight, the staff reminded me that my last order I went with the Eggplant Over Pasta Dinner - see what I mean about the attention they have when it comes to their customers - they made it easy for me to go with this order for tonight, how could I not! My Boyfriend got a Cheesy Beef and absolutely loved it! Everything was perfect. Tonight's dinner was exactly what we needed, it was nothing short of perfect! Our first Chicago style deep dish pizza in Chicago. I really enjoyed it. The cheese was thick and gooey and the crust was doughy. The sauce tasted good too. They have a Sunday all you can eat buffet but it didn't look appetizing at all. We passed that up and got the plain cheese pizza instead. The staff was friendly. I might change the number of stars after trying a few more places to compare. read more

Well. It's been over a year and it'll probably be another until I'm foolish enough to return here again. The pizza although decent in quality is just not good enough to put up with the shitty people who work here. The other menu items (as mentioned in other reviews) are to be stayed away from. Burgers are frozen and nobody knows how to cook pasta without making it mush. I get it, this place caters to college kids as you get a lot of food for a reasonable price. What I don't get is the people who you guys hire to work here. Why is it so hard not to smoke near the doors of an establishment, especially when you work there!!! Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Nobody wants to smell this crap, it's disgusting. You shouldnt be allowed to smoke during work hours when you work in food service because the smell sticks to you. Again, just disgusting. Cashiers are still too busy gossiping and ignoring customers. Have a question about a menu item? Too bad, nobody actually knows what's in the food they serve. When the bf told me that there was a place that had pizza slices so big that I wouldn't be able to finish it, I scoffed at the idea. This is me we're talking about here, affectionately named Kirby for the fact that I like to gobble everything up and also described as the Black Widow (a competitive eating champion) by some of my coworkers. I got pwned by a slice of pizza. But I'm okay with that because if I was going to get my butt kicked by one, I don't mind that it's Bacci's (See uploaded picture...you will see why I respect this pizza monster). $5 is a bargain. Pizza was solid, I guess a step above your Pizza Huts and Dominos. I actually enjoyed the vegetarian pizza over my sausage pizza because there was a little more sauce in it. I think what I enjoyed most was the novelty of eating a behemoth sized pizza. BTW, the winner of this year's pizza eating contest entered the day of the contest with 3 jumbo slices to qualify. I had posted a comment yesterday regarding delivery time (was not happy). However, the manager from Bacci called me today to offer their apology. as well as tried to offer a free pizza, I declined. I did not accept pizza as I was very please the day after someone took the time to call and offer to rectify the issue, that was greatly appreciated. Still would have reservations on ordering delivery since they no longer do the deliveries themselves, it is outsourced to delivery companies who may or may not care about the company they are delivering for. read more

Wow! Pizza lovers be aware- Bacci's is your one stop shop for the biggest pizza ever! I stopped here for lunch around 12:15 and surprisingly enough, it wasn't jam packed (phew!). I'm not going to lie, I was not prepared for how big the pizza slice is but I was really intrigued by all the choices. Decided to stick to the basics since it was my first time and tried the cheese slice. Let's just say, the slice is huge! Not only is it huge but they don't prepare you with the richness of the pizza. You do need two hands to eat this pizza because it's as big as your face. See, I love thin crusted pizza and this pizza was a little on the thicker side for me. There's nothing wrong with the pizza, the crust is delicious but personal preference is thinner crust. My only complaint is that this pizza had way more sauce than I bargained for and I was a little worried that the sauce would drip on to my clothes as I ate. This pizza is cheeeeeesy- they do not short you cheese or sauce. In fact, there is plenty of cheese to go around and some J when they say XXL pizza, they mean XXL pizza! Everything about this pizza is large, from the size of the pizza to the taste. Every bite is extremely hardy and rich. This place is unprofessional I made a takeout order and wanted to pay cash which was fine they said it was going to take 30 mins and in those 30 mins they called me and said I can't pay cash and I have to pay by card now so I said it was fine asked how longer till it's on the way and again 30 mins was added ! Because our son likes Bacci, every so often, we gave them another chance. After tonight, we're done for good. Every time we order, they screw something up. Today I ordered a pizza online - half spinach, half pineapple. We got half spinach, half chicken (for a family with vegetarians). If this was the first (or second, third, fifth, or tenth) time, I would understand. But mess up something every time. Either they lose our order completely or get it wrong, or it takes 20-30 minutes longer than they said it would. Rude service, sour wine from a bottle that's been left open too long, and sweating bullets during our meal in the one spot of the restaurant that seemed to have no cool air. BACCI OF TAYLOR IS AMAZING!!. I've been going here for years. I actually use to live across the street from this establishment and it was always great for an Anytime snack and the Jumbo pies are amazing for house parties. Now I am proud to say Bacci has continued our relationship with the youth event I put on called Stomping Grounds Open Stage. Stomping Grounds is a free monthly open stage event for young creatives to develop performance, curation, and exhibition skills while connecting to the Chicago creative community. Hosted by Free Write Arts & Literacy in collaboration with Kuumba Lynx and Elephant Rebellion. We have reached out to Bacci because we have been feeding the youth salads and the Jumbo Pies to make sure young folks have something to eat after a long day. Once the team at Bacci found out what we were doing last month they threw in an extra Pizza for our efforts and this month gave us 50% off and some extra sodas for our young people. You have no idea how much this has meant to our event. We will continue to support Bacci on Taylor for their amazing service and great pizza. I remember one month we tried to get something else to eat and all of the youth asked, "YO, where's the Pizza" from that point on we knew, were Bacci would be the choice. Just another reason why the Bacci on Taylor street is my FAVORITE! My daughter and I order pizza and pasta twice a week. Last night, we had Linguini pasta with alfredo sauce, which is ALWAYS delicious. When we got home, I noticed the pasta was still hot, but dry. This was a first, so I wasn't upset and decided not to call and complain, and tossed it out. Well we went back today to order dinner, and I only mentioned the dry pasta to Maria. She offered a sincere apology, told me not to hesitate calling if that ever happens again, then gave us a slice of pizza on the house PLUS she gave my daughter a delicious, hot brownie! The first time I ordered from Bacci was last year. It's was a catering order for a holiday party at my job. I worked for a nonprofit and specifically mentioned that I had a tax exempt letter. Needless to say, they charged me taxes, the delivery was late, and when I expressed my dissatisfaction,I was told I would be mailed a gift card to compensate me for their mistake. I never received the gift card. I am a person that believes in second chances, so this year for the same holiday party for my job,I decided to give them another try. When I placed my order I mentioned the tax exempt status and this time they took the number over the phone and took off taxes. Then I was charged a 10% gratuity. When I asked for my order to be delivered at 12 noon, I was told that they had a lot of deliveries at that time so it might be a little late. I told them that wouldn't be a problem and that they can deliver at 12:30pm instead. The delivery driver called my phone and said that he was there to deliver my order at 11:20am, which was unacceptable. This was an hour before my event started and meant that the food (pizza) would be cold once guest arrived. The delivery guy said that he would take the order back to the store so that I could have warm food. He returned at 12:30 pm, but the food was still cold. On top of that, one of my pizza orders was wrong and the food wasn't that tasty. So much for 2nd chances. First time shame on you, 2nd time shame on me, if I give them a 3rd chance to waste my money and time......then I'm the dummy! read more

I love pizza. It's delicious. I can't say enough good things about pizza. So as you can imagine, I'm always down to try a new pizza place. Bacci presented itself when all the other restaurants nearby were closed for the marathon, and I figured why not. The place had a decent amount of room. The main entrance has a counter and you can see the pizzas waiting for you, and to the right is plenty more space for seating. Again, nothing 5 star, nothing id be impressed to show my parents, but whatever. I don't recall the price of my slice off hand, but it was somewhere around $5. I remember thinking, "more than dimos? Seems expensive...." but THIS WAS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF PIZZA I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE. IT WAS HUGE. MASSIVE. ENORMOUS. I think it could've fed a family of 4 with modest appetites to be honest. I think I ate about half before I felt like I needed to be rolled out of the place. I was able to get a box and have the rest of my Za for dinner. The taste wasn't anything spectacular. Honestly it tasted like you picked up a frozen take and bake pizza at Mariano's or something. But the piece was huge, so I figured I could be a bit more forgiving. Audible SIGH. Me: "Hi, we'd like 1 XL pizza, and 9 cups for water." Girl: "We don't have cups for water." Me: "really, you don't have water?" Girl: "Oh, we do...just not cups for it." Me: "Great, then." Let me frame this for y'all...I brought in a group of hungry pre-teen softball girls, and in an effort to support their (very) lacking nutritional intake, I was trying to inch around mass consumption of pop/soda/sugary juice. This was not an effort to save money, really...as frankly, $9 doesn't really make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things. HOWEVER, it truly annoys me that a cashier/staff member, etc can't evaluate a situation and just...ya know, do the damn right thing. I ended up paying $9 for 9 cups, and STILL allowing them to just drink water. It's the principle of the matter...and we are paying customers who just want to drink water! Outrageous. As for the pizza? It's huge and cheap and not necessarily good by any means, but its sufficient and kids like it because its simple and expected. The $5 pop/pizza deal is adequate, but I sprung for the huge pie...which fed all 12 attendees just fine, with a bit leftover. But, you can bet I won't be back to Bacci. I'm bewildered as to how a place can do so many things so poorly. I'm serious, we've started ordering different things to see if there is anything good here. Burgers, nope. weird small frozen patty. sandwiches and salads, nope. The fettuccine alfredo wasn't bad, but not good either. The pizza isn't great, but is a great value. desserts are good. The fries, however, are terrible, both types. i've tried a couple of varieties and i hope someone affiliated with the place sees this: PLEASE FOR BABY JESUS SAKE PLEASE COOK YOUR FRIES! I've never seen fries so white and limpy and undercooked anywhere. not a single crispy one in the batch. I keep ordering them thinking that they are a fluke, maybe the cook was off that day, but nope. Parmesan and pizza fries, which should be great concepts, ruined by potato mush. I love their pizza it's sooo good!! I get my pizza delivery the delivery person is always on time and very polite. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars was because sometimes they forget to put my garlic crust on my pizza. When I do go pick up my pizza the restaurant is always clean and I always find parking in front of the restaurant and their customer service is great and customer service is very very important to me. The kitchen just need to pay more attention to the cook order sheet to make sure the customer is getting everything that they request on their pizza. Other then that I would highly recommend giving Bacci pizzeria a try. read more

Thin, greasy, huge piece pizza (1 lb. each) with a big pop is exactly what you are gonna get here. No thrills (besides some parmesan and pepper flakes to add). But good. I've tried this place a few times because I was a big fan of Bacci and the Bacci close to me on Chicago is run down with rude staff and never have stuffed slices nor will they make them when I ask, plus the food made me sick the last time I went. We came as a big family for the buffet, it was ok but not worth the price, poor selection and the pizza didn't taste the same as the jumbo slices. We came again because I'm pregnant and was craving their stuffed pizza and I got the email about the $5 Tuesday jumbo slices. $50 for 4 of us to have a slice of pizza and drink (no $5 slices). There were flies flying around the pizza slices, they took 20mins to warm up our slices instead of just making fresh slices, we wanted pepperoni so they added pepperoni to our slices and charged us more for it yet it's not the same as when the pepperoni is baked into the pizza. We appreciated the gesture but not the burnt crust and dried cheese. The soda machine only had orange soda, which I don't drink (no refund or exchange) so I got some Italian ice which is a drink everywhere else, but here it's just ice-cream. The cashier was rude, no $5 slices, no fresh slices or soda because it was 10pm and she disappeared so the other girl that was cleaning came to give us our food that had been warmed up and sat there getting cold again. She was nice but the cashier was rude to everyone who came in asking for slices she didn't have so people were leaving disappointed. They would've made more money by making fresh pizzas with the amount of people who came in around 10. Obviously the staff just wanted to leave. I even saw the cook throwing out the garbage from the outdoor garbage cans and that was unappealing! They didn't even want us to eat there at 10 so they let us eat in the front area since the dining area was already cleaned and closed. My fiancé wanted to go to the Art of Pizza ($4 slices even stuffed and pan) but I was craving Bacci. He got so sick and was up all night and went to work sick. Me and my kids also got stomach aches from this Bacci as I did from the other Bacci. Art of Pizza it is from now on and I wont give Bacci another chance! It's a shame! My options for delivery where I work are limited to pizza and chinese. I used to be able to get shrimp from Western Ave Shrimp House, but alas, they fired the delivery guy. I've eaten pizza from every joint in the neighborhood that delivers it and Bacci is the current pizza of choice. The pizza is okay, nothing spectacular. My top non-pizza pick: Steak Sandwich - Fresh, chewy bread, pounded steak, grilled onions, tomato, mayo and oil. Other plusses: cheap, NO delivery minimum. Minusses: If having it delivered, make sure to check the order. They consistently forget something (hence three stars.) Not very hot when it arrives, even though we're only a half mile away. EDIT: had to remove the polite phone service line because the woman who took our order today was very abrupt and when we asked about the free wings with our order, she told us it was too late and she'd already rung up the order on the card. This is the worst pizza I've ever had,(And I've had papa John's). Like the peppers tasted like bell peppers, sauce was non existent. I live literally across the street from Bacci, and have found this to be both a wonderful and oh-so-terrible thing. Five dollar slices as big as your head make for a deliciously unhealthy convenience food! As previously mentioned, their pizza is enormous --definitely the largest slice I've ever eaten. It is usually very tasty, but I've been oddly disappointed more than once. But you really can't beat the price - 5 bucks for the slice and a small soda (refillable if dining in). The staff at this location is very friendly and usually give me a piece from the new pie, rather than the old one that's been sitting out. Bonus points for lots of seating, but negative points for the playlist of five Sinatra songs on repeat. read more
