Most truly disgusting pancakes I had ever eaten. They had my review I had written previously deleted somehow. I wonder how they did that since I had pictures of the pancakes and everything posted with my review showing I had actually eaten here. The reason Yelp stated my review was deleted was that I had not actually had the restaurants food before, even though I had, and even posted pictures. It makes no sense. I really hate to say only bad things about a restaurant since I know how much hard work goes into running a restaurant, but this place does not value their customers nor do they value basic food decency. When I first decided to throw a pancakes and pajamas party for my kids recent 4th and 2nd bday bash I imagined hiring a chef to whip up pancakes (and maybe some waffles) at the party. Then when I made my list of a few hundred of my kids closest friends I decided an on-site chef would be a logistical nightmare and needed to look into other options. And that's how I found Babycakes, a food truck that makes hundreds (no joke) of pancakes. November is a bit chilly for food trucks, but it turns out Babycakes caters events as well. I coordinated all the details with Miss Babycakes herself, Leah. I decided to serve 3 types of pancakes (my 4 yr old chose buttermilk, blueberry and m&m). They came in insulated containers and Leah included all the necessary cutlery, napkins, etc. She was also very willing to work within my budget. It didn't turn out to be that much more than serving pizza at a party and oh so much tastier. Leah also offers side dishes besides pancakes so I also ordered some veggie burritos for the adults. Leah was prompt, friendly and did a lovely job of setting up the table. When the guests entered a party room they grabbed a container of pancakes (and perhaps a burrito) and made their way to the chairs. Speedy process! I had so many people ask me where I got the delish pancakes that I have no doubt Leah will be hearing from others for their own events. I have a habit of over ordering and this party was no exception. I had ordered enough pancakes for all the kids and for half of the parents, but ended up taking home way too many. Fortunately, you can just pop the insulated containers in the microwave so we will be enjoying pancakes for another few weeks. I had ordered 50 veggie burritos but those went really fast. If I were to do it again i would order twice as many burritos and 25% less pancakes. And I'm sure I will do it again because I would love to have Babycakes cater a future personal or work event. read more

There are three rules for catering an event : 1) Arrive on time or early. 2) Serve food hot or at an appropriate temperature. 3) Prepare enough for the stated number of attendees. Babycakes failed on all three. 1) They arrived an hour after the requested time. We called the contact number several times, in case they were lost. We assumed that perhaps there was traffic. We never got a response. When they arrived, seemingly unsympathetic, there was no apology or explanation. 2) We presume that the food temperature was due to the fact that they were late. Though even the first person in line had hash browns that were "hard to swallow". 3) Though we gave the exact number of attendees to be served, Babycakes ran out of plates, coffee, and bacon. I would love to rate the food separately from the experience, but because of the temperature, I cannot give a fair review. There was a nice selection of options provided for our catering order and very creative recipes. I think that if my cheddar sausage pancakes were warmer, they would have been delicious... but who knows? The bacon, though cold, had caramelized brown sugar on it, and it was the best thing on the plate! So what can I say... did I have a fair opportunity to taste the food and judge it... no. Therefore, I submit this review as a commentary solely on the catering quality of Babycakes. I had to make a last minute shift in my birthday plans and with that, had no time to cook. I ordered the catering 3 days before my event online, and then emailed to get some guidance on my order and what I wash trying to accomplish. Leah and I exchanged a few emails and I knew I was going to be super pleased and I was right. She more than exceeded my expectations and all of my friends were so impressed with the food and set up. My son turned 5 yesterday...he had only a few requests for his bday. 1) Legos, 2) Bounce House, and 3) on the bday menu: pancakes and bacon. For him and all his friends. My son happens to also love food trucks. And we've seen Babycakes around the area, but never had a chance to catch them. So what better way to celebrate his 5th birthday than with pancakes from Babycakes food truck? I contacted them about a month prior, and Leah was great. Answered all our questions, ran through the menu with us, made suggestions about the menu based on how many people/kids we were expecting, great customer service. We went with the pancake pick-me-up. Choice of 3 menu selections that our group could choose from. They suggested a variety of savory and sweet. We went with two sweet (Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Chip M&M), and one savory (Maple Bacon Magic). We also ordered 2 extra sides of bacon for the birthday boy. Like others have noted, they were late getting to the party, but Leah contacted me as soon as she knew they were going to be delayed and kept me posted on ETA throughout. In all, I think they were about 30 minutes late, but we were having a great time with other party festivities (magician, bounce house), so it wasn't a big deal. When they arrived, we had them park in our driveway...they set up their table and menu board quickly, and were ready to go. The kids were so excited. All lined up and couldn't wait to order. Neighbors were interested too...it was quite a party hit. The pancakes were great. Chunks of real bacon in the bacon stacks, tons of M&Ms in the choc-chip stack, and the strawberry compote was delicious...some of the kids asked for just the strawberry with whipped cream (sans pancakes) and Babycakes happily obliged. The sweet pancakes came with different choices of toppings (regular whipped cream or chocolate...syrup for the bacon pancakes or caramel, etc.). They had a special birthday stack of pancakes for my son...sprinkles, whipped cream, white chocolate chips. So fun! There was enough for all our group to have second helpings. As a bonus, they also threw in extra waters and sodas that were leftover from their earlier event. Service was spectacular. Leah and Kyle were super-friendly and helpful. We'll be tracking and following them this summer, and will likely book them for future private events as well...along with some other parents in our party! read more

Absolutely fantastic! I am finishing up my lunch as I write! My office wanted to bring a food truck out for lunch with short notice and Leah was so prompt in getting back to us and helping us pick out options to give to our staff. To make things easier we printed little tickets with everyone's selection to help the delivery process. The food was delicious and the pancakes were the perfect size with the hash brown sides and yummy berry salad. They even helped us with a handful of custom orders for individuals. The best part is that the menu is EXTENSIVE. You don't have to have pancakes or a breakfasty item. The truck arrived on time and was ready to go in about 15 minutes. Not too long ago I ordered from Babycakes on GrubHub and loved what I received. I ordered a few things to sample their wares since I'd been wanting to try the food from this place for a while now (I live a couple of doors down from the owner and am never out when they are selling their goodies) and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Cheese Sausage Biscuit Pankakes, which is a pancake with a sausage patty in its center and cheese in the batter. It was pretty good, but I am not much of a breakfast person so I was looking forward to the other stack I ordered... The Asian Skirt Steak Pancakes were quite possibly one of the top 10 greatest things I've ever eaten. The steak was juicy, flavorful and a little spicy. The pancakes were a nice contrast with the veggies mixed into the batter. I can't wait to try this again. And the best part... I was given a free order of their Egg Nog French Toast as well. Her communication, creativity, and customer service are ON.POINT. Even more importantly, her food is fresh, comforting, and delicious. Really good delivery substitute when you don't want to go wait in the cold at a trendy place. The delivery does take a long time as other reviewers mentioned, so I made a point to order far in advance which worked out for me. My breakfast companion and I shared one of their Big Cheese sandwiches. Which I loved! If I was hungover this would be a lifesaver (provided I woke up early, ordered, went back to sleep, and than woke up two hours later when they showed up with it :)). We got cheddar, bacon, and scrambled eggs on ours and I have zero regrets. We also got two sets of pancakes. As some people points out the pancake servings are not huge. Which I didn't mind because I thought the price for what you got was fair and it allowed me to eat half of a delicious sandwich AND pancakes and not go into too severe of a food coma. We sampled the red velvet and salted carmel. The red velvet were good, but the salted carmel really disappointed. They were super dry and not all that flavorful. I was really psyched to try these, but a pretty big let down. Overall, I would still order again. Just likely sample some of their other pancakes and share a Big Cheese of course. As mentioned early, I think there are better brunch places around but if you aren't up for waiting hours to get in and you want something a bit nicer than the many mediocre brunches around, I'd totally recommend ordering Babycakes to enjoy in your home. read more

I was so excited to see the food truck this morning I was starving and their pancakes always look so good on Instagram. I went with the sausage cheddar pancakes at first I was scared about the whole cheddar syrup mixture but it was actually good. The pancakes were much thicker than what I prefer but the sausage chunks were great. I don't really know if the pancakes woulda benefited from butter (they didn't give any) and they only gave you one little syrup tub for three thick ass pancakes.
