I absolutely love Baby Jack's. When friends come in from out of town and want to hit Corky's or Rondezvous, I tell them they will be quite happy partaking of the ribs and BBQ at Baby Jack's. Whilst a bit hesitant at first, everyone has left happily stuffed. Both the BBQ and the BBQ chicken are very good, but the ribs are where they really shine. Whether you like them wet or dry, they are perfectly cooked and so tender that the meat falls off the bone. They have several kinds of sauce and you can get vinegar or mayo-based cole slaw. Visited Baby Jacks for the first time today. They have the self ordering kiosks which is pretty cool, but if you have a customer in front of you, you might be waiting a while. I think they should add one more depending on how busy it gets during lunch. I ordered the half chicken. It was really good and really large. I could only eat half so it was definitely worth it for $9.00 since it covers my dinner for tonight. I am a bit disappointed that they do not server mac & cheese or corn on the cob. They only have fries, baked potato (extra $), potato salad, slaw, fried okra (really good), and chips. This place is pretty great. Don't judge it when you drive up, though. Yes, it looks like a BBQ chain restaurant, but it doesn't taste like one. I had a brisket sandwich and my wife had a turnkey sandwich. We both loved our food and loved the price. PLUS, they had coupons available in one of those coupon books that high school basketball teams sell for fundraisers. Who doesn't love that??? This may be weird, but the variety of sauces available at this place made me love it even more. I have gone to A LOT of BBQ places in Memphis and this is the first one I can remember having white BBQ sauce. So if you're into that thing...there ya go. I like going to this place because of the convenience and good food. I have been three times, and I have received good service each time. I have not varied my order from the full order of ribs because of how delicious they are. The meat literally falls right out off the bones (no cliche intended). The Carolina slaw/vinegar based slaw is a good one to try just because not many places in the area have it. The people are friendly. You have to realize its a new joint and locally owned! read more

So....yeah. Baby Jacks is cool. But there's a "but". I learned about Baby Jacks at the baseball field one day when they had a food truck out there. The barbeque nachos were so great that I knew I HAD to try to pulled pork sandwich. Seriously, they have some of the best pulled pork I've ever had, and the beef brisket is alwo a winner. And the barbeque sauces are on point, as well. Oh yeah, my son loves the fries. They are perfectly cooked every time. But. Pulled pork deserves to have cole slaw on it. And, they have cole slaw. It's just some kind of vinegar based cole slaw that is clearly an imposter and has probably even been shunned by lesser cole slaws. I got it on the sandwich once and thought "Clearly, this is a mistake." So, the second time I went back I said "PLEASE GIVE ME MAYO SLAW." Just like that. Loud so there would be no confusion. Didn't happen for me the second time, either, so now I just have to assume that the vinegar slaw is all they're working with. So, don't go here expecting to have a pulled pork with creamy cole slaw juice dripping down your fingers, because it's not going to happen for you. You may even wonder "Why'd they just put cabbage on here??" I did try to just eat the cole slaw by itself, but.....just tasted like cabbage. Nothing to see there, guys. This was my first time here and my last!! I had every intention of eating inside until I walked in and seen every table was dirty, one table looked like soda had spilt and was left . There was only one family of 4 eats no inside so no reason for such filth!!!! While waiting for my order for I noticed also how dirty the floor was and also the doors looked like they were never washed. I can only image what the kitchen looks like! We ordered food online for 6 people and when we got there, the person behind the counter walked up to us shaking the receipt asking "Why?" at least 3 times. When I inquired as to what she was referring, she says "Why so much food?" Not only was I greeted by a cashier on a screen, which was an apparent issue in and of itself causing even further delay, but this woman proceeded to make it even worse by telling her coworker to "stop what she was doing" and asked, "You ready for this?" as she read off FOUR drinks that she needed for our order as if it were twice that many. I was at a loss. We were even missing a couple of items and my food in particular was undercooked and cold, but given who was behind the counter, I'd chalk it up to an isolated incident. It was upsetting to see someone so perturbed about doing exactly what they signed up for and is GETTING PAID to do that they would go out of their way to directly confront a paying customer. Needless to say, I'll be taking a break from ordering here, which in the grand scheme I'm sure doesn't matter in the slightest, and I don't normally go out of my way to leave reviews, but this was probably the most ridiculous restaurant experience I've ever had. read more

I went to your store in Bartlett today. I used a fund raiser voucher to get a family pack, and I bought a full rack of ribs. The person who waited on me was named Meredith. After paying I ask for a cup. She asked me for a dollar. I didn't have any cash with me. Meredith took a dollar out of her own pocket and paid for the cup for me. Meredith made my day! Great local BBQ! This place is always good. I typically get a pulled pork jumbo sandwich with medium sauce and a side of baked beans. The ribs are awesome! I've also had the BBQ nachos and BBQ baked potato. It's all good. The banana pudding is some of the best I've ever had. read more

One of my favorites in Memphis! They have some of the best banana pudding in town and have a wide selection of sauces to pick from (all of which are amazing). My favorite item to get is the bbq chicken nachos with Alabama white sauce. My husband loves the loaded bbq baked potato! However, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. read more

Visited Baby Jacks on Labor Day. I knew they would be busy so I choose to go around 2:45pm. I had a Lakeland Soccer Pack voucher. Another lady customer there before me seemed a little miffed but I didn't think much about it. Then 35-40 minutes later when I finally get my order I was also miffed. Ridiculous waiting time. I've worked in fast food places. I've also worked in a catfish restaurant where the fish was cooked to order. No one waited longer than 15 minutes and we only had 3 fryers. Terrible service. The older man behind the counter was very nice. The younger brunette working the window not so much. The lady that came in behind me only ordered two pint sides and it took 25 minutes. But others that came in after me placed to go orders and received their orders before me. All the sides should have already been put in containers except maybe the beans before the doors opened. It's called preparation. And not all bbq sauce needs to be spicy. I ordered the sweet bbq sauce and it had more hot spice than sugar. I will continue to support Lakeland Soccer but I will never spend my money at Baby Jacks. I would rather drive to Memphis BBQ in Southaven. Not only is the food there awesome, you don't wait 30+ minutes getting your food. read more

Decided to be spontaneous and tried Baby Jacks BBQ on Summer Avenue. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the pork sandwich combo. I prefer crinkle cut fries but these were like the cut potatoes but still good. Another side was okra. It was quite tasty. I had a BOGO. The pork was very flavorful. Slow cashier. It's causing a line. I got free banana pudding by checking in with the yelp app. They have a nice selection of sauces, including white sauce for poultry that isn't common (yet) outside of North Alabama. I got a slider combo to try 3 meats at once. The pork is a bit bland as was the turkey. The brisket is good. I didn't get any smoke in any of it. It was nice and tender though. The beans were good but has seasoning that makes me think of ranch style beans. The banana pudding was good. Anywhere else this would probably be a great BBQ place, but in Memphis it is middle of the road. Worth a try but don't go out of your way. read more

Been here several times, last night was the worst experience. 1st now you order by kiosk, luckily we were 1st in, once more people came in it backed up. We got our food, I had ordered a beef brisket sandwich jumbo, what I got was a big hunk that had a ton of fat and was bent to fit on the bun, this is not how beef brisket is supposed to be served especially as a sandwich. My family got a bbq pork potato and pork sandwich and both were greasy. When I first started going here it was real good, now the quality has went down, only thing good is their bbq sauce. It's close so we decided to try it. Good choice. The wait wasn't too long and the food was better than just acceptable. The pulled pork was moist and well seasoned, and the ribs fell off the bone. The beef and pork were juicy and delicious! Chicken was very dry. The baked potato salad was excellent. The mayo slaw just didn't do it for me.
