I enjoyed the Galentine event. We had an amazing time on the patio. The Playlist was bomb, the hosts were fabulous and the experience was a 10/10. I loved that they allowed us to also serve as mixologist if you had a ticket under your seat (which i did). The Tickets are $40+ tax and gratuity and I felt there were very reasonable. The menu for the event included Three specialty cocktails Love Potion #9: Single Barrel Corazon Reposado Tequila, peach brandy, Kim Crawford Prosecco, blood orange, strawberry, agave Spicy Peach Margarita: peach, jalapeño, tequila, TAJÍN® Chamoy rim The Hype Man: Single Barrel Corazon Reposado Tequila, Cazadores Cafe Liqueur, Rumchata served in a chocolate chip cookie shot cup. Each cocktail included a small bite which were Lamb Sliders, Carne Asada Bowls, and Avocado Ice Cream.

Babalu was the first place I took my now husband on a Memphis date while in dental school, so it holds a special place in my heart. I've seen a few different iterations of the menu which are all great. I highly recommend the tableside guacamole if it's your first time, so good. We're visiting for our anniversary and had tuna carpaccio, a first time try. It was spicy and so flavorful. I had a selection of tacos and my husband had the birria rolls. They were a little fatty for his taste, but I love that haha. Service is always quick and friendly. Overton Square is such a neat place, and I always tell people to stop by.

Lamb Sliders and Brussel Sprouts

I stopped in to grab a quick bite at the bar and thank goodness it wasn't too busy. The bartender took my order and answered my questions. When I lived in Jackson this was The after work spot for a while, boy we had a time back then at BABALU!! I loved the short rib that they used to have. I ordered the lamb sliders and brussel sprouts. The lamb was cooked well not too dry. The brussel sprouts were tasty but a tad too greasy. This is still a fun place and I really need to get out more. I haven't been in here in years. I would recommend this place for good food and a good time.

This is are go to Best place in Midtown Memphis for Brunch & Tacos. It's always busy, the staff is always amazing, the food is always delicious no matter what we order and the restaurant is always super clean. We enjoy sitting at the bar during game time and having a few with friends and making new friends.

The bar is the perfect spot to sit and watch some football, have a drink, appetizer, and good conversation. The bartenders are experienced and helpful. The drinks are refreshing and cold!

We attended a tasting of new menu items, and we absolutely loved the experience! We are most excited about the new power bowls and the Hype Man and Old Fashioned cocktails! The food, drinks, and service were exceptional.

The perfect place to eat in Overton Square!! I had been to the one in Midtown and liked it, but I was wowed all over again having it a couple years later. We started off with the table side guacamole, FANTASTIC! Probably the best guacamole I've had. My boyfriend doesn't even like guacamole normally, but he said it was very good. Then, I had the shrimp and al pastor taco (very impressive) and my boyfriend had the chicken and steak (he loved it)! The tacos aren't just simple little tacos, they are complexly flavorful. I also had the cucumber mocktail and it was great too! I love that they had 3 different mocktail options. Shoutout to our server, Grace!

I still can't stop thinking about the sauce station here. There's a private parking lot shared with the surrounding businesses, and the restaurant has around 15 tables inside. It is a good casual spot if you are looking to dine here. FOOD: This restaurant does not serve complimentary chips and salsa. It is $2.95 an order. 1. Torta Villa Carbon (4/5; marinated grilled chicken topped with grilled onions, grilled pineapple, melted cheese, jalapeños, and avocado): This was huge. I ended up saving half for lunch the next day. The combination of sweet and savory flavors worked really well together. 2. Campechano Burrito (4/5; steak strips and chorizo with rice, beans, lettuce, onion, tomato, and jalapeño): Steak and chorizo are always a winning combination, and this burrito did not disappoint. 3. Chirucas Chimichanga (4/5; two medium chimichangas stuffed with rice, beans, cheese dip, and your choice of meat, served with lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream): I chose the grilled marinated pork (al pastor), which was flavorful and satisfying. The server mentioned that the chicken version is their favorite. The service was decent overall, though it could be slow at times. I noticed a few tables waiting a while before servers came to take orders or refill drinks, and my drink was empty for a bit before getting a refill. Dinner service can get very busy, as every table was once full in one of my visits. Would I come back? Absolutely.

Once you order, they give you a buzzer and then bring your food to the table. They have a beverage and utensils station. There is plenty of seating. I love the casual theme. Speaking of my order, I had The Threesome. It comes with green chile queso (has a little spice), guacamole, and your choice of salsa. All of them were really flavorful. The cips that comes with it was really fresh and tasty. I also had the Trailer Park. It is loaded with flavorful fried chicken, green chiles, lettuce, pico de gallo, mixed cheese with poblano sauce on a flour tortilla...so so good! the cashier recommended it to me because it was my first time there. The other taco I had was the Chicken Fajita. It is marinated and grilled chicken, grilled onions and peppers, pico de gallo, mixed cheese with tomatillo salsa on a flour tortilla. I also want to add that they have a full bar and tvs. It would be a cool spot to watch the game. They also have a drive thru! Now that excited me, lol! So you know what that means....I will be back!

The part I did not like was I had to go inside to pick up my food, but I was not greeted not even acknowledged for about 5 minutes. The problem is people came in after me got there food before me. I hate terrible customer service. Also there weren't any tops at the vending machine, and the cashier made faces as if it was an issue to do her job. Not sure what the issue is/was, but overall that made me not want to return!

Seems there's some weird disconnect going on I wasn't aware of... This location is now going by Las Mexicanos instead of Los Comales. Looks like almost all new staff too, that could definitely use some Customer Service training. The menu has a 3rd name on it that seemed off as well. I was not told to come to the hostess stand to be seated, no friendly greeting when I did approach the stand. Once seated, the chip & salsa dude was quick enough in dripping them off w/out so much as a greeting. Maybe he's the silent type? Who knows? 2 Now the real wait begins.... Nothing to drink nor any sign of anyone even slowing down @ my table to take a drink order. Maybe they were fighting to see who would take my order? ‍ I was almost finished w/the basket of chips, decided what I wanted and LAID THE CLOSED MENU on the other side of the table close to the edge, hoping someone would notice. I had decided if they couldn't be bothered to come by the time I finished the chips I was leaving. Magically a waitress finally shows up w/3 chips to spare. Placed the order for water and dinner at the same time. Dinner came out quickly but looking pitiful w/barely a full tablespoon of guac, tomatoes or sour cream. Cheap bastards! The flour part of the chimichanga was NOT CRISP, & I was given plastic utensils to maneuver this sad plate. I have eaten here MANY times as I live in the area so I am more than disappointed w/this experience. Not a single customer sitting in the middle @ the 4-tops & @ least 7 booths empty; on a Saturday night @ 8:00 pm. Sad that they have lost so much business, I'll think twice before considering spending my money here again.
