I had two gynecomastia surgeries with Dr. Dadvand (an initial surgery and then a revision). The initial surgery left me with a crater deformity on one side, a crease on the other areola, and overall my chest looked deflated yet still full in warm weather. The revision surgery left me with extreme nipple sensitivity, an incredibly large scar that extends far past the areola border (which he refused to revise), and my nipples still appeared very puffy and protruding through shirts. The office manager Michelle was incredibly flaky and constantly cancelling appointments with me when I was trying to schedule my revision surgery. It took years of back and forth exchanges to finally get my revision done - even though I continually expressed concern, they did not prioritize me in their schedule. I went to Dr. Dadvand for gynecomastia surgery back in September 2022 which means I am now a little over 1 year post op and I am extremely happy with my experience and my results. I had my first and only consultation with Dr. Dadvand scheduled back in February 2022. On the day of my consultation, I went in and he was super nice and welcoming and had an amazing bedside manner. He examined my chest and told me I had Grade 2 gynecomastia. He was very thorough and honest, he asked me questions and I asked him questions and expressed my concerns. Where do I begin with this review?! I had lost over 160 lbs and had excess skin to remove. I started researching surgeons in the LA area and came across Dr. Dadvand. After extensive research of Dr. Dadvand and his practice, I wanted to schedule a consultation ASAP. I contacted the office and heard back very quickly, and my consultation was a few days later. I met with Dr. Dadvand, who reviewed his experience, and how he specializes in male Gynecomastia and other male procedures. We went through the consultation, and he was frank about what must be done to achieve optimal results. My skin was stretched due to lifelong obesity, so we did a double mastectomy with free nipple grafts and an extended lower body lift. I had a tummy tuck in 2017 that did not remove all the skin, so Dr. Dadvand recommended we finish the work. I had my surgery on May 11 and am about 6 weeks out now. I was less than 2 weeks away from my surgery date, I was super excited that I was finally going to get this done and off my chest. The day of surgery on November the 12th me and my grandmother drove to Beverly Hills to meet with the anesthesiologist and Dr. Dadvand to do some paperwork before I was able to change into my attire for surgery. After changing, Dr Dadvand came into the room to take pictures and to draw the outline of what he was going to be working on before rolling me into the operating room. Finally we got me into the operating room where it was time to remove my gynecomastia, I don't remember passing out. 3 hours later I woke up in the recovery room where it was time to go home. I was very sore and a bit uncomfortable with the drains but worth every pain. I rested the entire weekend and got a lot of sleep. That Monday I went in to meet with Dr. Dadvand to remove my drains and padding that were applied on my chest. I felt very much comfortable after removing the padding, I was happy to see my new chest for the first time. TLDR : Dr Dadvand is absolutely fantastic and my only regret was that I didn't meet him sooner. After having a horrible first surgery, it is so refreshing to have a good surgeon that actually knows his shit. I landed on Dr. Dadvand after doing several months of thorough research and consultations with plastic surgeons around the US that specialize in gynecomastia and revisions. He was so nice and patient during our initial consultation and that positive energy inspired me to proceed all the way to booking. I still had a lot of laxity from my previous surgery and was originally considering only a peri-areolar lift because I was scared of the scars double incision surgery would bring. But he was able to convince me otherwise by showing me how far my nipples were from my pec borderline and how cost ineffective it would be to go the peri-areolar route since that surgery can only move my nipples 2-3cm at most. Right before the surgery, he was so meticulous with his markings, and spent like 30 mins making sure he got everything right. My surgery took place in May of 2018, which allows me the to give a well-rounded review. I had a severe case of gynecomastia, which caused me to have insecurities for most of life. It robbed me of some very fun moments including pool parties, going out and other social activities. I used to wear compression shirts and big jackets to hide my chest. Playing sports in high school was very difficult because I was always teased when I took my shirt off. As I got older I stopped caring about what others thought, but I still wanted to do something about my chest. I saw a couple surgeons about this issue prior to Dr. Ddadvand, but none of them made me feel as comfortable as he did. It's been a couple years since I discovered surgery as an option to remove the excess breast tissue.
