I'm so incredibly grateful to have met Dr Emer (AKA my Face Boss) years ago. I've been a patient for 8-9 years now, and i would never want anyone else to touch my face. If I could give Dr Emer and his staff more than 5 stars, I definitely would! The office is beautiful and everybody was welcoming. Dr Emer is a true artist. From predatory pricing and unethical behavior to subpar results and disturbing revelations about Dr. Emer, it's clear this is not a place anyone should trust with their health or money. I paid over $30,000 for Vaser liposuction to target stubborn abdominal fat (despite being at 11% body fat). The results were barely noticeable for such a hyped-up, expensive procedure, but the clinic's behavior was even worse. They failed to provide services I paid for--IV therapy (their nurse couldn't find a vein) and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (set up incorrectly, nearly causing serious harm)--yet refused a refund or credit. When I requested a modest $2,500 refund, Dr. Emer condescendingly remarked, "Obviously, you need the money; otherwise, you wouldn't ask for it." Let me clarify: I don't "need" the money. As a successful business owner, I earn far more than Dr. Emer, and I do it ethically. My refund request wasn't about finances; it was about holding them accountable for charging for services they didn't provide. When they offered a refund contingent on signing a non-disparagement agreement, I refused. Why accept hush money when I could simply charge it back with Amex if I wanted? Their arrogance and greed were shocking. After this experience, I dug deeper into Dr. Emer's background and was horrified by what I found. The California Medical Board is pursuing him for gross negligence that resulted in a patient's death. Dr. Emer performed a dangerous combination of procedures in a single 10-hour session on a high-risk patient--a 36-year-old man with obesity and hypertension. According to the Board, Dr. Emer ignored basic safety protocols, administered unsafe levels of fluids and medications, and failed to stage procedures for safety, directly causing the patient's death. When I brought this up, he dismissed it, claiming the Medical Board's director was "jealous of his success." This denial and arrogance, especially when lives are at stake, is disturbing. The Medical Board is seeking to revoke his license--details are public record, and I encourage everyone to read them. There's also a sexual harassment lawsuit against Dr. Emer, filed by a former employee, Brandon Noguera. The allegations paint a picture of a toxic, inappropriate workplace. The lawsuit accuses him of hiring employees based on his sexual interests, engaging in relationships with staff, and retaliating against those who didn't comply. Claims include firing employees once their sexual relationship ended. These accusations go beyond workplace misconduct--they reveal a lack of integrity in someone entrusted with people's health. Beyond these issues, the clinic's practices are outrageous. I was subjected to a hard-sell approach reminiscent of a used-car sales pitch. Without a proper evaluation, they handed me a list of overpriced, unnecessary procedures: $7,000 for peptides (available elsewhere for a fraction of the price), $4,550 for Botox and fillers I didn't need, and more. They pushed PDO threads and laser treatments--again overpriced and unnecessary. None of this was explained by Dr. Emer himself; his staff handled it in a scripted, transactional manner. It was clear their focus wasn't on patient care but on maximizing profits. Even the one major procedure I underwent--Vaser liposuction--was underwhelming. The clinic's Instagram presence might make it look like a top-tier operation, but don't be fooled. Their claims to "specialize" in countless areas are absurd. No single practice can excel at everything, yet their website suggests they'll milk every possible treatment regardless of quality or expertise. Dr. Emer even shifts between presenting himself as a cosmetic dermatologist or a plastic surgeon depending on what suits his narrative. If you're considering this clinic, do your research. Read the California Medical Board's accusations and the sexual harassment lawsuit. Ask yourself if you want to entrust your health--and money--to someone with this track record. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Emer to get facial sculpting with fillers and a plasma pen treatment under the eyes. My goal was to improve the tired/baggy look under my eyes while remaining conservative with the filler. I was nervous as this was my first time getting filler, but Dr. Emer and his team reassured me that the results would be noticeable but natural. Needless to say, I am overjoyed with my results! I went to Dr. Emer for a consult, he said we could do procedures that day. He had other patients wait over an hour while he squeezed me in. He said we could apply for accutane then and there so in a month I would have started it post treatment. While I was waiting for accutane, his medical assistant, Jonathan, would set appointments for check ins. He would consistently be hours late to our appointment, sometimes would even miss our appointments. They did not properly submit accutane so I started breaking out again, basically useless to spent 11,000 on the treatment since I started breaking out again, not fulfilling his treatment plan. Instead of helping me get on accutane, Jonathan would just keep trying to sell me lasers for 10,000 , to try to get money out of me instead of solving the problem (very unethetical). When I told him my concern that I dont want to spend more money on treatments if I am not on accutane yet because I'm going to break out again and will be wasting money- then he got frustrated and was telling me to hurry up since I wasnt going to be purchasing the treatments. His other medical assistant, Kaitlin, was supposed to be in charge of accutane but she would not give me instructions. I would call almost every day for weeks, and they would not return my call. I only spoke to Dr. Emer during the procedure. After the procedure they let me know I have to spend another 5k on products that were needed post treatment, instead of being upfront about the cost. Overall, this place seemed very unethical, wanting to take money instead of focusing on the client's treatment. I put in my trust, $10-$15k, and I was left with tears, frustration, and feeling like I can't advocate for myself. I called 2.5 weeks ago to get my account transferred to a new doctor and have yet to hear back. I have left two voicemails and texted 3 times. QUOTED FOR MANY EXTRA'S. After paying Dr. Emer a $500 consultation fee to discuss the treatment of my acne scars, he suggested a facelift. WTH? I was 41 when this consult took place earlier this year. Anyhow, I decided against a facelift and asked the office for a quote to treat only my acne scars. Well I thought they had made a mistake and accidentally sent me a quote for a facelift because I was quoted the exaggerated amount of $12,550. The quote had so many extras. When I asked the office staff to explain each extra item, I was only told everything is required. This was the quote: $3000 pre and post skincare $3000 BellaFill (2) $2500 CO2 Laser $1500 Halo Laser $800 PRP (1) $500 Subcision $500 A-Cell $500 Exosomes $250 Stem Cells Total: 12,550 I wish I had read all of the 1 Star reviews that make reference to this issue of adding extras before coming here. Dr. Emer is definitely a king at social media marketing, but he should really handle himself in a more professional manner online. He got upset when I answered someone's question asking about pricing in one of his recent IG reels. And because I stated the facts about being quoted for extra services and giving prices, Dr. Emer said I was "disparaging him and his office." I was in the market for something that would help cure my dry lips. Knock on wood, everything recently has been okay, but I've had ongoing bad issues over the past 8 years or so, I guess this comes with age as I never had a problem prior. I do not want anything invasive, however I was willing to see what my options were while on-site. Dr. Emer's office happened to be on the floor below my dentist, so I had no excuse not to visit while in the building. The girl at the front desk directly to my right greeted me upon entry, and I noticed the retail area further back on the left. Dr. Emer was finishing up with a client, and we chatted briefly about my issues. Directing me to a particular product on the shelf, he spoke about the benefits which could suit my needs. I made it clear I wasn't looking to create d-lips to look ridiculous like 80%+ of the population in LA and he took this into consideration, stating it was strictly a hydrating and not plumping product, although the ingredients would give a plump appearance due to the moisturizing benefits at work. What made me happy about my experience here is that he wasn't trying to upsell me, hell, he wasn't trying to sell me Anything I didn't need, or was out of my range. The fact he was supporting a product off the shelf instead of trying to get me into his operating room gave me the impression he is honest, and you don't come across too many in this town since most are looking for a quick (several thousand plus) dollar(s). Pegah (the nice desk girl) deserves an acknowledgement for not dismissing me since I didn't look like one of their patients (maybe the before version) and this made me feel comfortable. My experience with Dr. Emer and his team has been above and beyond! I'm a 35-year-old male with an athletic build, and this was my first time getting plastic surgery. After losing weight, I was left with excess skin and scars on my stomach from a previous diverticulitis surgery. The ER surgeon obviously did not take any cosmetic approach to my diverticulitis operation, leaving me with markings that made me feel unhappy with my appearance, even after working hard to get back in shape. After months of research, Dr. Emer topped my list due to his results being better than everyone else's, especially with male bodies. I scheduled a consultation and was seen the next day, which was perfect for my short surgery timeline . Everyone at the consultation, especially Isa, was incredibly nice. Despite a busy day, Isa managed everything smoothly, checking in with me and being super friendly. I met with Dr. Emer and Dr. Groves, who were both super nice. The consultation was quick, so be prepared. Dr. Emer listened to my goals, examined me, and explained how he could achieve my goals and look amazing. Dr. Emer seemed 100% zoomed in on fixing my situation, which I really liked. Unfortunately, Dr. Groves couldn't participate in my surgery due to a family loss, but he called to inform me and ensured I spoke with the replacement doctor before the surgery, which I really appreciated. After the consultation, I was handed off to Dalia, who was incredibly informative. She explained the recovery process and was really good at explaining the hard truths about surgery in a way that is realistic but yet totally doable. I see now how crucial Dalia's position is in a plastic surgery center, as she helps patients understand the realities of surgery but makes you understand that it is totally possible. She also provided the quote for the procedure and aftercare. She worked with me for days with the quote and to ensure I could have the surgery on my timeline. I'm very grateful to her for making that happen. Then I got a call from John a couple of days later. John is incredible. Our first conversation started off with going over everything I needed to know before the surgery and how to get all the pre-surgery lab work done. He made sure I didn't have any unanswered questions. He was available when I needed to call and was there before, during, and after surgery. He has been fantastic and still is. The night before my surgery, the person who was supposed to pick me up and take care of me after surgery had to have emergency surgery themselves. So I called John freaking out because I didn't have anyone else to take care of me and I have a dog. But John said he would see if he could find aftercare for me. I still had to get a shot history certificate from my vet and research good dog hotels, and it was getting late, and I still had to shave myself for a 7 a.m. surgery. It was a pretty hectic night. Then I got a call from John. John called around and found multiple options that would take me in at the very last minute. I ended up going with a healing retreat that John knew about from a previous job he had, which was cheaper than the regular place they send patients. John really came through, and I was able to find a safe place for the pups. John has also been amazing after the surgery. He's usually the first and last person I see every day when I come back for my lymphatic massages and hyperbaric oxygen chamber sessions. He makes sure I'm hydrated, looks after my tummy tuck incision, and ensures I'm healing well, sleeping well, not in more pain than I should be, and he got me Ambien when I couldn't sleep. He basically does everything necessary for a safe, successful pre-op, surgery, and post-op. He does so much, and I'm really grateful. I have to give thanks to Michael too. He does my lymphatic massage. He is also very knowledgeable about everything. It is super comforting knowing that I will always be in a room with someone I can ask questions to every day. My procedure included 360 lipo, J plasma, fat grafting to the chest and butt, skin removal, a nipple lift, and a traditional tummy tuck with scar revision--basically, the gladiator body. The results exceeded my expectations. The scars from my previous surgery were gone except for just a little bit off the top of the central vertical scar, but that was pulled down and is in a more concealable location. I had a visible 4-pack before, but now I have a full 6-pack and a flat stomach. My chest is much more defined, and I have a V taper. My butt, which had loose skin from weight loss, is now rounded and plump. The nipple lift corrected my sagging right nipple and looks awesome on my perfectly defined chest. I'm thrilled with the results and grateful to Dr. Emer and Dr. Yamin for this amazing transformation. I'm giving 5 stars to Dr. Emer and every single person in that office! I went in for a tummy tuck/lipo consult, which cost five hundred dollars. The consult was fine but I was flabbergasted by the quotes that I was provided. The base rate for the tummy tuck was astronomical (compared to Dr. Firouz, who is a very well regarded Beverly Hills plastic surgeon). And there was a laundry list of add ons and extras. Total price in excess of 50K. On that same appointment, I got $7500 of permanent filler for 'facial sculpting.' There was no real facial sculpting....just typical filler results. (I could have purchased 12 syringes of filler from Desert Medical Rejuvenation in Palm Desert for 6K and saved myself a trip and a lot of money). On both the consult and the fillers I was charged an extra four percent without my knowledge or consent. I've used a credit card for filler, Botox, and procedures without paying extra fees. (Four percent is more than they were charged). And having this done without my consent was very sneaky. I was not allowed to apply to fee for surgery to the filler either. Perhaps that's standard, but it felt a little sheisty, especially after being charged a fortune for filler. I should have read the negative reviews ahead of time since my experience seems somewhat common. Dr. Emer uses social media and branding very effectively...style without substance. I'm party at fault for not being more vigilant and thinking that he was providing magical results without being more discerning. Many of the recent five star reviews seem fake to me. I am a nudist and was always uncomfortable with the size and shape of my penis. Living near one of the best nude beaches in the world, feeling confident about my penis was always the "one" thing that made my visits to the beach lackluster. (in my mind). I am extremely disappointed with this company and would rate them zero stars if possible. Many others have shared similar experiences regarding their untrustworthy business practices. PLEASE LISTEN TO THEM. I was pressured into paying a significant upfront sum (over $15,000) for treatments and products. They recommended unnecessary procedures and injections, a fact I later confirmed with other professionals. Furthermore, I received expired, used, and dried-out products which also were not refunded which prompted me to cancel services. Despite canceling over two weeks in advance, way before the allowable time to cancel per their refund policy, they have yet to refund me the funds and it has been weeks! I presume I will have to contact my lawyer and the attorney general at this point. Save yourself the agony and find an honest company who you can trust with your money and your skin. read more

For starters, Dr. Emer and his team are in the business of full-blown life transformations, not one-off in-and-out procedures. If you're reading this, you've likely already visited Dr. Emer's accounts across the various social media platforms. You may be debating whether to move forward or whether it's worth the time, money or investment of effort, potentially the pain too... rest assured, with all of my heart, that it is...and, so are you. They are changing my life and I know that they will do the same for others. I am one of the patients that you've likely seen on IG - I've lost a significant amount of weight and was looking to have my exterior match the work and love that took so long to build from within. After following Dr. Emer for close to a decade, I finally pulled the trigger - opting for liposuction across the body, fat grafting in a few locations, renuvion, j-plasma, facial sculpting...even pec implants and a mini tummy tuck performed by Dr. Yamin as well as some peptides that were prescribed in advance that made the world of difference. Given the extent of my procedure and now two weeks later, I'm still very much in recovery but back home outside of California. Regardless, my chest looks amazing and I'm starting to see the results come through on my legs and buttocks beyond the bruising and swelling. I'm anxious to get to the end-point. That said, Dr. Emer is making my dreams happen. He is an absolute perfectionist - There is a reason why he's built the reputation to be the best in men's procedures. I will keep this short and sweet... The doctor, Jason, Emmer was good. But there was a long list of inconvenience and bad experience attached... Here is my grocery list. 1. Reception never mentioned, in all of the phone calls or paperwork that the doctor did not accept insurance. I found out once I drove an hour to get to the office. 2. I had to remind five different people who were constantly trying to upsell other procedures and merchandise that I was only there for Botox and only interested in Botox. 3. Despite having an appointment time, I had to wait an hour to be seen by the doctor. 4. I schedule a specific time for a follow up phone call (two weeks had passed) to let the staff/doctor know how the Botox looked... But no one ever tried to contact me, despite having a specific time scheduled with the office. 5. The parking at their office is extremely inconvenient. 6. And finally the work provided by the doctor was the same quality work. I have had done for the past 10 years with other doctors, but for half the price, I and others can go elsewhere and save money which is what I'll do next time. I always get the same amount/quantity and so I'm well-versed on general rates. 7. In short, the money spent didn't match the work done... This office is overrated. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but this is concerning my face and it's caused me so much distress the past couple of months. My results from Dr Emer have been very unsatisfactory to say the least. I came in asking for Botox on the forehead and fillers for my laugh lines. During the consultation he recommended a whole bunch of other things on my face starting with moxy laser treatment($1k+), skincare products($1k+), and fillers on my cheekbones, chin, and botox around my eyes all totaling to north of $4k. Since I've read that his consultations were "highly customized" for each individual, I decided to trust his word and went with all of his filler recommendations. It was a huge mistake because I came out looking worse than I came in. Below is a picture of how my cheek fillers turned out. There are new wrinkles that formed since the cheek fillers. Whenever I smile my face now looks fat like I put on weight because the fillers stick out at the top looking completely unnatural. It looks so terrible I wanted to cry. He did my laugh lines but it didn't even make much of a difference, pictures below are from this month and I got these done just last month. So not only did I not get what I wanted for the money I paid, I paid extra for things I didn't need that made my face look worse. Not only wasted money, most of my summer was spent being in distress because I felt super self conscious about my face when I was out. They boast about "world class customer service" but he didn't care or listen to any of my concerns. When I went in for a followup explaining my concerns, Dr Emer's exact words were "there's nothing we could do, you just have to wait until the Botox goes away, there's nothing wrong with the fillers. Sorry you feel that way." I don't know of any scenario where fillers causing more folds and wrinkles is normal. And there's ALWAYS something that can be done to make things right. I don't feel this doctor recommends things to patients with their best interest in mind. This practice is more about up-selling patients as much as possible during the consult and not at all about listening to patients' actual needs and wants. When deciding if this was right for me, care coordinator Jose was available to me night and day. He took every call with all of my anxious questions and concerns. Parish at the front desk was always helpful welcoming and prompt. Dr. Emer is a genius which is why I chose him in the first place. For years I was insecure about my lower back fat. I workout 6 days a week and eat a clean high portent diet. No matter what I did I couldn't get rid of the love handles so for years I looked for the best surgeon and I found him. Since I didn't want to waste the fat they grafted it to my buttocks as well. EVEN THE INITIAL RESULTS ARE PHENOMENAL. Ive been in the office every day for the first week of my recovery. The recovery plan that Jose has created is is next level top of the line. IV, red light, hyperbaric oxygen and most important lymphatic draining massages. My massage therapist Adam is truly the best. I thought Jason Emer was an amazing dermatologist and decided to have him treat an area on my thigh that required smoothing out from a previous procedure. I thought since he knows skin, he could fix the bulge that was there and he said he could do so. It was an awful experience. He does not care about his patients and will never call to see how you feel after surgery. If you have an issue, he will be unavailable and you will be given the run around before actually connecting with a nurse (who will be annoyed that you're calling). Usually, a surgeon will always call his patient the evening of surgery to check on them and ask if they are comfortable and if anything is of concern. And the great ones always give you their personal cell number. Even Dr. Terry Dubrow does this! You will be directed to Dalia, the schedule coordinator, for most things. If you get her at the time scheduled and not made to wait hours forbher, she will try to sell you every modality under the sun - more money for everyone on the Emer scam team! She tried to sell me on the plasma pen for my undereye. Thank goodness I knew it doesn't work on my skin type. It actually can cause scarring on dark skin tone. That should sum things up well for you on how they operate. Do not waste your money here. He is not a skilled surgeon. He is limited to his facial laser procedures and serums. At the end of the day, he wasn't able to fix my thigh, he made it worse. And his prices are astronomical. For example, the national average cost to have Aveli done is between 3-5k. He charges you $10k. NOT WORTH IT. There are more qualified and caring surgeons who won't rob your money! read more
