If I could give negative stars I would. Worse service and the longest wait ever. 2 tables that were sat after us got served before us. I had to ask for menus and for somebody to take our drink order even though they sat us. The wait on food was extremely long. And I never got my biscuits and gravy. We had to ask for refills. Very friendly staff. We decided to split a meal since I wasn't too hungry. Got chicken fried steak with hash browns and a side of biscuit and gravy. They have sausage or bacon gravy which the waitress offered to spilt my biscuit and put bacon gravy on one side and sausage on the other. The biscuit was nice and fluffy. I enjoyed both the gravies but still favored the sausage one --- I think it's cause I prefer the pepper flavor. The chicken fried steak was good.. A huge portion! Nice and crispy. Good flavor. My bf wasn't a fan of the hash browns... He said it was too cooked.. Almost like eating burnt fries (which true there were quite a few pieces that were over cooked) I didn't try the eggs but they looked good. Bf didn't complain so I'm sure it was fine. I wanted to try the cinnamon roll but she said they were still trying to perfect it so it wasn't available. I will definitely be back to try it! Very small cafe, but great food!! They were so busy, they ran out of clean coffee cups, apparently under staffed too. Our server was new but she did her best to become familiar with the menu. We had to get up to ask for a few things, because the server was not able to come back to us frequently enough to ask for napkins, water or more coffee. You walk in, and it just captures Clovis in a restaurant. It's country, its small, the chair cushions are runned down, the waitress has a cute twang in her voice and calls you "honey" and all patrons turn their head when a Mexican girl walks in. Its so Clovis!! The biscuits and gravy are massive!!! I ordered the sausage gravy and I love my gravy flooded with pepper and this place delivers. The prices are very easy to digest as well. I was seated right away, immediately placed my order, and had my breakfast on the table within five minutes! Really impressive and appreciated! The corn beef and hash was delicious, clearly homemade. The one thing they don't serve here is BS. My wife and I love this coffee shop! The breakfast is always great and the staff is always friendly. I usually prefer country potatoes, but they manage to get their hash browns nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Freshly remodeled with really friendly and personable servers. Quality of food has significantly improved over years past. You gotta get there early to secure your choice in bacon or sausage gravy, because B/G is so popular it may run out by noon. Most substitutions will cost extra, but what doesn't in this new world we live in. However, they will let you know the charge ahead of time and you can substitute almost anything from the menu making a very unique experience for the picky eater. Don't let the location and outside appearance fool you. the BS Coffee Shop is one of those hidden gems in Clovis for breakfast...those that pass it by are missing out. The BS is now run and owned by Sharon's family. I've been going to the BS off and on since the late 70's when I used to come down to visit family and was sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. The giant chicken fried steak is just delicious and you can still get the BEST white sausage or bacon country gravy(they're still working to get back the flavor of Sharon's gravy) with biscuits in Fresno/Clovis...bar none. If I had a knock, it would be the biscuits are just a bit overdone on the bottom and the gravy isn't quite there yet...but that didn't stop me. Everything I've ever eaten there has been good and I cannot recall ever eating a bad meal. The place is clean and freshly painted and there has been some upgrades made to the food quality(?). With a $2 charge for a diabetic substitution from the carb to tomato slices and cottage cheese, then this is the place for you. Owner came to talk to us. Very snotty. Uhaul down the street ran behind on my truck reservation so I walked down the street to kill time and ducked into this random coffee shop to escape the heat and catch a cup of coffee for my long day. I contemplated getting food but knew I would be leaving shortly, so just ordered a coffee. In the 15min I was there the waitress checked on me 3 times to make sure I was doing well and suggested food, was just as kind to me when I politely decline as when I first walked in. When I needed to go, I went up to pay for my cup of joe and they waved me off said "don't worry about it, just have a great day." A hands down solid place to get some breakfast! I had been here a couple of times years a go, but its been forever and a day since I ate here, so I decided to take my girlfriend here for breakfast over the weekend. When you first roll up the place looks a little run down, and is next door to a somewhat sketchy looking storefront church. When you walk in you are greeted by some very cowboy looking interior, complete with cowboy boots that are being used as vases with fake flower arrangements inside. We got there shortly after opening and there was already a large table taken up by several older guys, and shortly after our arrival another large table began to fill up with even more old dudes. If I have learned one thing about breakfast spots its that wherever old dudes show up in large numbers, its a good spot to eat! The service was a little slow, but I chalk this up to the fact that there was only one lady who was serving the entire restaurant, shortly before we got ready to leave a second waitress had showed up, which I am sure alleviated that particular problem. The food was quite good, there is nothing that is specifically amazing on the menu, you will simply find all of your standard breakfast fare, but everything is cooked well and tastes good! So if you are looking for some fancy pants breakfast don't come here, but if what you want is a solid good tasting breakfast at pretty cheap prices, this is the spot you want! read more

I've been going here since I was in utero, I'm fairly certain. My dad used to love coming into this place to give the sisters that own it a hard time. Once you go in, it looks like time has stopped right around 1979. I love it! Their biggest pull for me is the gravy... they'll make bacon or sausage, or get this... NEITHER! So if you don't eat pork, and they still have some "neutral" gravy available (not always), you are in luck! The bacon is the best, though :) We've taken home gobs of it over the years, and it really just can't be beat. As other reviewers have mentioned, the cinnamon rolls are insane. They have enough icing on there to make Cinnabon roll over and die. Just be sure that if you don't do margarine, ask for them to not add it to the top. Otherwise they will smother your bun in it. It's good both ways, but I know that some people have an aversion to it so I thought I'd add. If you're in Clovis visiting and want a piece of the local flavor, please do yourself a favor and check this place out. If you're a local and haven't had the pleasure, check this place out. If you're a local and you've been here but somehow had your memories erased, go back and check it out. Chances are if you like the homey retro feel, you'll dig the vibe there. The place is amazing! I almost always get the corn beef hash. It's so good and is homemade. Also if you want a cinnamon roll that will knock your socks off they have them. The place it's self is a bit old but that adds to the charm. The ladies that work there are sweet and the chefs Alvin I believe is his name does a great job. They are always out of things like chicken fried steak and strawberries.. There is a store 300 feet away no excuses. No more homemade cinnamon rolls. and a new cook corned beef hash mediocre. I'm new to Fresno. My local roommate recommended it. Biscuits and gravy were real good. I like that they offer bacon or sausage. Hard to tell nowadays if restaurants are actually making the gravy in house--SYSCO makes a canned version( bogus! I know). Service was efficient but hardly welcoming, but I'm not looking for a song and dance. My biggest beef in any restaurant is when vinyl seats are torn and not fixed. You get your choice of how you want your 2 eggs prepared, hashbrowns or country potatoes and also your choice of toast or biscuits in gravy. If you choose biscuits and gravy, you then can decide bacon gravy or sausage gravy. It comes w 2 biscuits.
