Found this place from a list of recommended caterers, And wanted to try it out. Came here around 7pm on a Monday night. This place is a hidden gem! Starting off there are so so many options for BBQ lovers and people that may have more limited tastes. They offer classic smoked meats, salads, fried chicken, sandwiches and some more creative options like BBQ nachos, brisket Mac and cheese, bomber-ritos (a variety of meats, hash browns,cheddar, jalapeño corn, your choice of sauce wrapped in a tortilla) and taco fabuloso (what we ordered pictured) The prices are a STEAL for the amount and quality of what you get. BBQ definitely adds up and can hurt your wallet, but that is not the case here. The tacos has a GENEROUS amount of pulled pork, flavorful, tender, and juicy. We stopped off just for a snack, and I was full after 1! In regards to their catering, I've heard nothing but great things and they've won several awards. Unlike some catering companies, they are transparent about their prices and it's a fantastic deal! Not going to break the bank no matter what type of event you're having. For a small town place this place has out of this world BBQ. I would have never expected it to be this good but it's outward clean pleasant appearance is what brought me into the establishment. Nice decor, friendly staff. Family friendly. Clean. Ok prices. Smells wonderful when you enter. Plenty of parking. Problem was that we got take out and the prime rib, French dip and fries had all melted into the styrofoam containers. Also the "au jus" was just plain fat from the meat. There wasn't any more than 5% juice in the container. It was like a tasteless oil slick. They can easily get these things fixed. When most restaurants have very hot foods they put foul in the styrofoam container before the food so that plastic doesn't contaminate the food. And skim off the oil before dishing out any broth. I will be back to give them a second chance. read more

Best barbecue around! Lots of craft beers and a fun atmosphere. Their beans are so good!

Outstanding! We had four couples eating here. Service was super quick! Seems everyone had something different. The BBQ was very good. Others had brisket and fried chicken. They offer numerous sides. I had potato salad and baked beans, which were just fine. But, the brocolli salad, fresh fruit salad, and curly fries looked amazing, as well. Needless to say, we will go back and maybe try the other items. The decor is neat. I really enjoyed the artwork and the variety of tables and chairs in the restaurant. Stopped to try it out... brisket it great: flavorful, moist, pulled pork: moist though lacked flavor and no smoke, turkey: breast, good and moist. Entrees come with bread/corn muffin. Corn and Mac cheese good though more cheese is needed. Beans good with pulled pork though like thicker sauce. Kids meal is $4.95 though doesn't include corn and Mac cheese side as option which is usually a staple. Chicken strips was hoping for house made since on the adult menu though weren't. This was a kiss and parents frequently try kids entree and restaurant serves fried chicken. 9 sauces of wide variety: Alabama white mayo base; Carolina vinegar very thin and lacked much more flavor then the base and heat. Auburn hottie is owners favorite and mine too followed by remix mustard mix with heat. Didn't try the hottest two sauces. Great to have in a small town on a busy intersection. Worth a try if passing though or want somewhere new locally. read more

I've given this place a shot several times. Never again, the BBQ is always reheated so it's dry and tough. Most good BBQ places smoke their meats in the morning and sell it until its gone each day. This place keeps the meats for several days in the cooler. And, to top it off the prices are high for the portions. I know Iowa is not BBQ capitol USA but save your money. Today, B-Fabulous had their food truck outside of Casey's on South Duff and Crystal Street. My husband and I decided to give it a try. :) I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was wonderful! I just couldn't bear to sauce the delightfully smoky meat with anything. My husband ordered the tender and juicy burger. You can taste the love in every bite. As soon as we arrived to work this evening, we let our boss and everyone at the meeting know about this wonderful little gem just down HWY69. I can't wait to visit their Huxley location! read more

Ribs are fall off the bone, the sauce selection is very broad. I didn't need sauce for this meat though so that shows how good of a job they do. Recommend this place as well. read more

Went for lunch while traveling for business; the sides, especially the mac-n-corn, were awesome! Fried chicken was pretty good. Small town hidden gem. Had brisket nachos with baked beans on top. The best a most unique combination of nachos I have had. My daughters loved their pulled pork and corn mac n cheese. I had a side of broccoli salad that is delicious. Ordered a pint to take home with us. Local owners with unique experience. Don't expect chain restaurant environment. We have been eating B Fabs for a few years now. Their pulled pork is always tasty, moist, and flavorful. The potato salad is my absolute favorite! So many yummy flavors. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My husband and I went to their new location in Slater last night for a quick dinner. We both had the pulled pork, potato salad and slaw. As usual the pork and salad were to die for! The slaw was a bit on the spicy side, not a fan. Not sure if they changed their recipe or someone got carried away in the kitchen....also ordered a brownie. This thing was HUGE! Very tasty! The gal at the register was a bit easily confused. We got an order to go for my dad, when we were done eating in the dining area and came up to get it, she asked what number we had....I literally had to dig our receipt out of the trash to tell her or else she simply had no idea what to tell the kitchen staff. There had only been two other orders between ours and coming back up to pick up the to go order. Maybe a different process for that type of thing? Like a name system instead of a number....or maybe she could have looked on the tablet/register she was using. She also panicked when she gave me a cup for water after we paid when I asked for a bottle of water. Luckily we had cash to pay the $1.05 difference, but maybe comp it next time? I love to support local mom and pop businesses. This place is a favorite of mine whenever I pass through Huxley. limited menu, but delicious food. A great alternative to the huge HP in Ames where you get herded in and rushed out. I like that other place too, but B Fabulous is great!!! read more

Our first time visiting. Was super busy and they were short handed, but that didn't stop us from getting friendly, quick service and good food. The Brisket mac n cheese is so yummy, coupled with a garden salad ( one that actually had more than iceberg lettuce) was a perfect dinner. The atmosphere is darling. Brisket was pretty good and enjoyed the sauces. Pulled pork didn't have any flavor, tasted like it had just been sitting all day in a crockpot of water. Disappointed the order was wrong and only part of it was fixed which ended up not being good. Brisket Mac and cheese was dry and without flavor. We should have known when the parking lot was empty at dinner time that this was a thumbs down place! Food was absolutely terrible! Way overpriced! The restaurant even charges you to use your credit card! Tables were dirty and sticky. Just not a good place to eat at all! read more

We stopped in for a late supper toight. I had brisket nachos that were fabulous. My husband enjoyed his pulled pork. We both had coleslaw for a side. This is not your mama's coleslaw, at least not my mama's. Different than what I expected but very good, my husband prefers a creamer slaw. We will be back, many more items to try. read more

We stopped in with entire family tonight for supper and had a great time. The service was excellent and everything was reasonably priced. I had the ribs which were some of the best I've ever had and my wife had the pulled pork that she really liked. The mac and corn was awesome and the kids loved it! We've stopped in here a couple times with boys after their basketball games. The food is great, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Their sides are unusual and very good. They have many choices of their homemade BBQ sauce; they're all very good. Some in our group eat gluten free and that is easily accomplished here with their rotisserie chicken or delicious pulled pork by the pound. We will definitely be back. read more

The food was awesome! I am not usually a fan of brisket, but it ended up being my favorite of the 3. My dining partner and I tried most all of the sauces they had available. I can say that we won't be back. The this was not "great southern" bbq, just because you own a smoker doesn't mean you know how to smoke meat. The sides were tepid at best and the person serving us rubbed her nose and face at least a dozen times in the process. Not impressed. read more

I live in Austin, TX and needed to cater my daughter's graduation from Drake University (Des Moines, IA). I called the team at B Fabulous on the recommendation of my daughter's boyfriend and could not have been happy with the suggestion. They were very helpful with the planning, the delivery was on time, the food was hot, and they even helped put up a few decorations. The pulled pork was fantastic, the potato salad delicious, and the bbq chicken moist and tasty!!
