Like many of Cyd's client's we also HIGHLY recommend Catering by Cyd! Our first encounter to Catering by Cyd was several years ago, the first time she was had provided her signature food for a casual gathering of friends. Then again, when she catered an event for the Salisbury House. We hired Cyd last year (Yelp reviewed) and again this year to cater our Annual Pre-Halloween Gathering. This year she took TOTAL control, ensuring that our guests were fully accomodated and that the hosts spent their time wisely, by conversing with their guests. Everything was handled personally by Cyd, from dispersing individual charcuterie cups, to plating and passing the evenings dinner salads, entree, sides and desert to doing a complete kitchen clean-up. I had delivery. Cyd arrived on time, set everything up, and was incredibly sweet. The presentation and quality was more than I could have hoped for. We recently hired Cyd's Catering for our wedding reception dinner on 07/08/2023. In our planning we waffled back and forth between going with a professional caterer like Cyd's or a restaurant that offered catering. We are SO happy we decided to go with Cyd's. Given the opportunity to try again, I'd choose Cyd's every time. One of the primary reasons we chose Cyd's over other professional caterers was their EXTREMELY modern and functional planning/contract portal which allowed us to send questions, revisions, feedback, etc. directly to someone on Cyd's team who was managing our catering plan. Catering events, especially weddings, are a big deal, and the ability to make instant tweaks and revisions as things come up was really nice--as opposed to waiting a few days for someone to re-write the contract and send us a PDF via email to review. In the end, we worked with a staff member from Cyd's via their portal and over the phone to make 5-7 revisions to our original plan until we ended up with the perfect meal for our wedding. And boy was it perfect. The selection? Perfect. The presentation? Flawless. The taste? Impeccable. Our guests were telling us the whole night that they've never had food like this at a wedding before. One of the primary reasons we decided to hire Cyd's was the assurance that they, as a professional catering business, would handle anything and everything. And they really did: when my wife and I showed up to our reception (shortly before dinner was to be served), the food was already setup, warm, and ready-to-serve. As the night progressed and dinner wound-down, Cyd's staff cleaned off all our tables and put all the food into leftover containers for us. We didn't have to worry about a thing the whole night. Throughout our experience working with Cyd's Catering, they were courteous, professional, friendly, and flexible--doing whatever they could to make our event perfect. Did Cyd go to culinary school? If she did, she must not have retained much. If she didn't, then that explains a lot. To start with, be forewarned that if you pay her in advance, (even thousands of dollars) and SHE decides to cancel at the last minute "due to weather", she keeps your money. And you have less than a year to reschedule or you forfeit the money entirely. Self-serving business practices aside, let's get down to the matter of the "cooking" (or decided lack thereof)... A traditional dinner, typical of Tuscany in the summer is what was requested. And the agreed upon price was $178 per person. We were served a Sam's Club salad covered in melba toast for the "primo" (totally wrong way to start a Tuscan dinner). Next mistakes were: ricotta manicotti (a pasta invented in America not Tuscany), frozen Sam's Club meatballs (obvious from the texture and large bone fragment found in mine), and Trader Joe's green beans with shredded parmesan, billed as "Italian green beans". The final insult was her so-called "classic tiramisu", which was just a cupcake; no savioardi lady fingers soaked in espresso and amaretto, no layers of mascarpone and cream... just a lazy American cupcake. I did discuss this with Cyd and she blew me off in a way that left me to believe she has no clue how offensive her food is. Wish zero stars was an option. read more

We hired Cyd's for our wedding this July and they served up a fantastic taco bar! It feels like an understatement to call it a taco bar, because there was so much delectable food. Chef Cyd's was quick to book, easy to pay and see statements online, and showed up on time with lots of servers. They were ready to go when dinner needed to be served. Our guests raved about the food. Truthfully, my new hubby and I were too nervous and excited to eat much, and we were actually really sad the next day, because we had an appetite and remembered how good everything looked and tasted. The communication was a little limited, but I think part of that is that we hired them late in the game, they're a small business, and they're pretty busy! The setup they had looked really great. We highly recommend hiring them for any catering opportunity, including for your wedding. They were a little pricier than other taco bars, but for good reason. The food spoke for itself. There was everything you could want, and it was LEGIT. Also, those sopapillas were bomb and I am STILL hearing about how wonderful they were. read more
