a menu for a mexican restaurant

Such great food we went 2 nights in a row lol ! So many different choices. Server isn't very attentive, but everyone is so nice in here. Had to go to the bar to get our waters refilled. The queso was sooooo good. My husband had Burrito Bandera & I had an enchilada and taco combo plate. Love the decor. Huge restaurant. Plenty of room for big party too. Great prices. Got seated right away. We will definitely be making this a weekly trip.

A really great place that adds flavor to Perry. We hosted my family dinner here the night before my wedding s d the staff was so helpful and accommodating. I cannot speak highly enough if the food (everything here is amazing) or the delightful staff.

Shrimp and Steak Fajitas with no veggies

Normally dont post bad reviews as I understand the impact it can have on a restaurant but today after waiting over 45 mins to get our food I was in shock as to how little food was served. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp Fajitas without veggies because I dont really like onions/peppers that much. This plate is like $14/$15 and what you see in the picture is all I got. I made a taco (also seen in picture) that had a little bit of beef but the amount of meat they give you was so minimal that they didnt even bother to give it on the separate grill plate every restaurant usually uses. They slapped everything on the plate that is usually used to put only the beans, rice and lettuce with guac and sour cream. I been to various pther Mexican restaurants that probably give you more on a lunch fajitas special that costs $7/$9. This is an embarrassment of establishment. Only reason for the 2 stars is because their queso was good(sat for over 45 mins so I ate a lot of chips and queso).

Casa De Oro in Perry, IA. I found everything we ordered to be super bland, the service to look bored, the beer not very cold and the space too big to be cozy. Not impressed with this mediocre TexMex place. A bonus is they automatically serve cheese dip with chips and salsa, and that was a nice touch.

Quite the spacious restaurant. Popped in for lunch as we drove through town. The salsa served gratis is pretty good. The queso was an unexpected and welcome surprise. Ordered the lunch portion of enchilada mole ($6) with rice and beans and the burrito verde ($6.25) also with rice and beans. Both dishes were just OK. Mole was a red sauce and sweet without the complex flavors that often define a great mole sauce. Verde sauce also on the bland side. Beans were good. Rice was standard. Knowing that Perry has had spectacular Mexican cuisine in the past (at a different establishment), I was a bit disappointed by this experience. However, with their extensive menu, perhaps I made the wrong entree choices.

My parents and I stopped by for a late dinner while we were in Perry. The chips come with both salsa and white queso, which is pretty rad. I had the chorizo burrito, and it was pretty good. They were not particularly busy, but for some reason the service was quite slow. We will most likely give this place another shot in the future, but I was not impressed by the staff.

I'm a big fan of Casa de Oro! Reasonably priced Mexican comfort food. The warm chips, queso, and salsa as you sit down in the cozy booths and tables are a great indication of what's to come. The staff is friendly and helpful without being pushy. I like the fajitas, Casa de Oro burrito, and everything else I've tried. The whole place is clean and also surprisingly has a full bar. Pro tip: order the largest horchata of your life in the big mug!

Good service goes a long way and everyone here was nice, generous and attentive. And the queso was some of the best I've ever had.

Good food. The cheese sauce that comes with the chips is amazing! Had the tacos al carbon and the Arroz con pollo. Very good.

Went here on the recommendation of three locals after working a basketball game. I misheard them…read moreat first; I thought they said "Tempe" and we were looking for a Mexican restaurant. Anyhow, we arrived and elected to sit at the bar versus a booth. Took a couple minutes to get noticed and we were asked to sit at the other end of the bar due to some clutter... Prices are very reasonable at this establishment. A flight was $7.50...if you were in WDM or Waukee, you would probably be looking at double that. They also brew their own beer and cider here; I'm not sure why that's not advertised heavier. Its called the "Gamble Block Brewery". I had Fear the Beard, the Baja Lager, the Maple Pumpkin Ale, and a cinnamon apple cider. The Maple pumpkin ale was delicious--the maple definitely hit on the back end. I was not a fan of the cider--they used a rather tart apple. The Fear the Beard (comparable to Blue Moon) and the Baja lager were OK. For food, I had the chicken tender basket with a 1/2 order of Texas Fries. I actually thought the ranch seasoning detracted from this dish--the queso was quite good and the bacon was plentiful. The downside to getting "sampler" versions of items was none of the accompaniments were included. My friend who got a full order of the Texas Fries was given sour cream with his food--mine did not. Also, on the beer sampler fruit wedges are served with the full size versions but not on the flight. The chicken tenders were very good and had the right breading/chicken ratio. The buffalo sauce packed a punch but was not obnoxiously spicy. The ranch that came with it was very good and was clearly made in-house. More of a 3.5 star review.
