Much smaller than the Winston OR preserve but has a charm all to its own. The preserve was fun to drive through (it's about a 45-60 minute evolution), feeding the giraffe was complimentary and a great memory for the whole family, and the gift shop was quaint and historic. The staff was professional and passionate. Best of all they have vintage Land Rover Defender tours at the 3pm showing. They run their preserve and tours well. Definitely worth the stop! read more

We had such a great time. The tour guide was on her very first tour ever, and was accompanied by someone who was training her, and she did an awesome job. They clearly gave her a ton of information and a lot of freedom to talk about whatever interested her. The animals seemed very happy and well-kept with lots of space, and the tour was informative and seemed run by people that really loved what they do. This is a private preserve commited to breeding and preservation of African hoof stock. They also do a very good job of educating, and providing a fun time for thier visitors. They have several variety of antelope (including roan, greater kudu, and sable), a couple different varieties of zebras, and five giraffe. (They also have a cape buffalo, although not featured during the tour at this point.) The tour begins at the barn and a video on giraffe, and the rules of the tour. Zane was an excellent and informative guide, answering all questions. Pointing out all the subtle, but marked differences between different varieties of zebras and antelope. Feeding and standing next to the imposing giraffe has to be the highlight of the tour. (Great place for a picture with these majestic animals in the background) I've been to the Point Arena area several times over the last several years, yet this is my first visit to this preserve. We traveled from Southern California to enjoy this experience and we had the best time!! We spent 2 days in the Zebra Cottage...it was decorated beautifully with a full kitchen, private deck and hot tub, wood burning stove, and a really comfy bed. It backed a large pond and in the front zebra roamed free. We took the guided tour on the second day. Our guides Sarah and Sierra were so nice and knowledgeable...we learned a lot about all the animals housed on the preserve and their conservation efforts. We enjoyed our Private VIP tour at B Bryan Preserve for our party of 7. Brook, our ranger, shared a lot of great information about the animals they have at the preserve. She did a great job answering the kids' questions. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. And if possible, choose the private tour in one of their open land rovers. While I haven't tried the self drive tour, I can't imagine that the experience compares to a private tour. If you have the time ~1.5 hrs, and the money, I highly recommend the private one. read more

B Bryan Preserve is a unique and educational activity on the Mendocino coast. It's essentially a wildlife reserve for several African species of giraffe, zebras and antelope as well as a recent addition of a Cape Horn buffalo (not yet part of the tour as he gets acclimated to the property.) What's amazing about them is that the have acres and acres to roam, which makes this as close as possible to their natural habitat. Tours can be booked online (no drop ins) and happen twice a day (9:30 and late afternoon-forgot if it was 4 or 4:30.) It's $35 per adult and this includes a short history lesson of the property before you embark, Range Rover tour driven by staff and a giraffe feeding at the end. Tour groups are kept small (I believe the max is 20) and each rover will load 6 people up. Although it was about an hour drive from where we were staying in Fort Bragg, the ride is scenic and once your down in the Point Arena area, there are other activities to take part in. This was definitely a highlight of my long weekend getaway. It was fun, educational and getting to feed the giraffes was an amazing experience. Their cute little barn features educational info to read and plays a video while you wait for your tour to begin. There are also gifts to purchase that support the reserve. All in all, the admission fee is more than reasonable-you get a mini safari experience on the Mendocino coast. Their staff and owners care quite deeply about the animals and their mission and I learned quite a lot. Definitely recommend adding this to your Mendocino County itinerary. read more

From the moment we checked in, the entire process was as smooth as possible. We had contact less checking provided with clear instructions on how to go about the premises. Upon arriving at our cottage, which was the Chapel cottage we were told by the cleaning staff that they were still cleaning up. This was a great assurance for us to know that the cleaning and sanitizing is a priority. The lady was very friendly and assured us that the cottage was perfectly santized. The cottage itself was very nice. It had a lot of character and charm. You can really tell that alot went into the small tiny details. A mix of antiques and African artifact added to the unique ambience. Outdoors was so serene and beautiful. On one side is a pond and the other side the giraffes. We loved to have our own private backyard and a nice hot tub to soak in and take in the view. We did the self driving tour which was ok but the highlight was feeding the giraffes. We met with Ozzy and the curious Cody. My 3 year old had the most fun. He has been asking us to go back ever since we got home. Our guide was Brooke and she was amazing so friendly and informative. Actually everyone we met were so friendly and helpful. All in all this place is amazing and deserves 5 stars. read more

Rude customer service and misleading website. The website said we could leave our dog in the car, however we were not allowed to bring our dog on the property. The lady that greeted us was rude and did not allow refunds even though we didn't go a foot into the property. They care more about money here than customer experience. Will not be back. This place is amazing! A 110 acre preserve with zebra's antelope and giraffes. Once you have taken your driving tour, you get to feed the giraffes! It's wild and fun. We stayed there for two nights on the preserve at one of their three cottages. Each cottage has its own outdoor hot tub with complete privacy. The place was immaculate. It was very private, well except for in the mornings when the giraffes were just across the road looking at you as you went into your hot tub! LOL I highly recommend this for anyone that enjoys something like this. The animals are cared for in the best way possible with acres to roam. read more

It was ok by car. You get a map where you have 7 places to visit in like. 2-3 acre area. Most of them are still behind a cage except the 3 zebras that roam free. I saw that the on the personalized tour people were able to get out and see the animals up close. I can see the personalized tour being worth it. So if you get the personalized tour pay the $35. However, if you do the car tour for $25 per adult and $15 per child you feel a little jipped. The most fun was feeding the giraffe. I recommend the living desert in Palm Springs. Once you do that, everything else pales in comparison. read more

Truly a unique experience. The Preserve is by far one of the coolest places I've ever stayed. After the first morning cooking breakfast in the kitchen it was time for a soak in the hot tub. Looking over to my right from the hot tub what do I see? All the giraffe looking back at me. One of the coolest parts of the experience however, is going on the tour and getting to know about the preserve and all the animals that live on the property. The conservation they take part in is amazing. And not just a giraffe preservation but that is definitely one of the highlights for me. Such giant but gentle animals I love them all. The cabin that we stayed in was rustic in some ways, it did however have all the amenities you could desire for a weekend away. Beautiful stained glass windows, a nice kitchen with a mini fridge and a stove. The hardwood floor looked old and well worn. There's a tiny little fireplace a TV with a Direct TV hookup that we never turned on. The place is pretty much perfect. I got to meet the owners whilst on the tour. I really can get behind what they're trying to do. It appears to me that it's a passion not only for the owners but all who work there. read more

My BF and I did the self guided car tour and loved it. You wind slowly through the preserve while viewing the animals in their respective fields. So fun to see the round eared zebras and other beautiful animals. Of course the highlight is at the end when you're able to get out of the car and feed the giraffes. All was well organized and started on time. This seems like a well run operation and I'm glad they're taking such good care of the animals. The gift shop isn't too corporatized which I appreciated. Can you say giraffes in Northern California??!! When I read that they were giraffes that you could hand feed and kiss in Northern California I just knew my wife and I had to go! My wife favored creature of all time is a giraffe, so this was an easy decision. What a beautiful facility, plush greens and flowers and just Beauty surrounds as property. As you drive through the gate and head towards the back there's a nice little store and a sit-down area to watch a movie. There are about 20 of us in the group all together and we piled into three Jumanji Style trucks. We saw their zebras and their antelopes and everything in between but by far our favorite part where the giraffes! Kissing the giraffe was was quite the experience! Yes I stuck a slice of sweet potato in my mouth with it sticking out 3/4 of the way and then draft came right down and took it out of my mouth kindly and gently! I'm glad I wasn't the first guy to go because that guy had a nice wet kiss with the giraffe! Laugh out loud! We will be back! read more

Great tour of the preserve with African ungulates like giraffes, antelope, kudu and many zebras! Judy and Dr Frank are great hosts and tour guides, taking us around and introducing us to the many animals on the preserve. We got to learn a lot about all the animals, and had many opportunities to take pictures (even selfies) with the animals (because it's 2016 and who doesn't like a selfie with a zebra and giraffe). The pictures speak for themselves. I actually didn't read the Yelp reviews before I arrived, and was thrilled with the opportunity to feed a giraffe snacks and have it take a snack out of my face! Haha - good times. Thank you Dr Frank and Judy for keeping B Bryan Preserve and making it available by reservation to the public :) Pro-tip: spend two nights at the reserve thru Airbnb! We did the VIP tour. It was an absolute wonder. We met zebras (different types), antelopes (diff. species as well... one of them is a LION KILLER), and giraffes. B Bryan is a sprawling, unique, and colorful landscape. Brooke was a fantastic tour guide -- she probably deserves a promotion. Spectacular experience! Africa by the sea! We chose the self guided safari tour. Next time we will surely go with a guide in their cool trucks. The animals were amazing! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting the "B Bryan Experience". It was such a pleasure to stay here, we will be back. Upon arrival the rules for getting about the property were made clear and were simple to follow. We LOVED our tour: riding in a vintage Land Rover, getting out at each animal enclosure, and feeding the giraffe! Our guide, Becca, was super knowledgeable about each species and offered fun facts about the individual animals. The cabin experience was well worth the price. We stayed in the Zebra Cottage, a vintage paradise with such great attention to detail (African artifacts and zebra décor), everything you need for pampering yourself on vacation (kitchen with dishes, living room with fireplace, awesome shower, comfy bed, and spa robes to enjoy the hot tub.) Sitting outside in our own private hot tub enjoying the stars was the perfect ending to a perfect day! B Bryan Preserve Oct 2017 B Bryan Preserve is a wonderful place. Coming here is a truly memorable lifetime experience. My wife and I have visited several times but this most recent visit was probably the most memorable and the highlight of our vacation. Frank and Judy do such an outstanding job caring for these majestic animals. You can tell that Frank considers the giraffes his "boys" and truly cares for and loves not only the giraffes but all the other great animals on this preserve, zebras and several other species. And Judy loves these animals every bit as much as Frank does, and she does an outstanding job with the tour. She provides great information, listens to and answers questions very well, she's very patient with people, and of course, has a great relationship with the animals. Trust me, for most of you out there, you haven't experienced anything like B. Bryan Preserve. And you should, because it's a unique experience. Take the tour. Learn about these animals and how B Bryan Preserve is saving them and maintaining their species' longevity. For heaven's sake, KISS A GIRAFFE! You think you're gonna forget that experience? You're not. It's awesome. As much fun as kissing a giraffe is, this place is about more than just that. It's a place where these animals can roam freely, be very well cared for, and not only thrive but enjoy their lives here. They have a nice climate for them to live in. These animals have great lives here, which is very heartwarming to see in person. They also have a few resident cats roaming around, and these cats have personalities! They add to the charm and the fun of coming here. And they have great merchandise for sale in the barn where the tours start and end, not just t-shirts but artwork, painting, wine glasses, things like that. And even the barn itself is cool. They have an old-fashioned soda fountain in there. And on top of all that, you can STAY here on property. You get your own private cottage. Nothing beats sitting out in the open air in your hot tub at night, listening to the sounds of these animals. It is SO cool. And I like the cottages themselves, they're very comfortable, you have everything you need, and they are clean as well as comfortable.
