I needed some work done in my breaker panel, and Rick was the only electrician of a few i called that day to pick up and listen to my voicemail. He slotted me in same day, and we were able to get it done ASAP. Rick is legit, he's a professional and he knows what he's doing. A bit on the expensive side compared to previous services i've had done, but very trustworthy, knowledgeable and happy to chat about life, circuits and more. read more

Rick is a real piece of shit . Terrible work and he tried to rip me off doesn't know what he's doing incompetent and arrogant. Real sleaze ball save your money and your house from burning down don't deal with this guy read more

We had a couple of projects to take a look at, and Rick and his crew moved expertly between everything, solving some problems and giving good advice for future work. The costs were quoted in advance and they had all the parts and equipment they needed to avoid the "I just need to go pick something up" jolts that can make the time and cost change. I will not hesitate to use them again. read more

I filled out a form on their website describing the work I was looking to have done and never received a response or call or email.

My clothes washer died, but before I bought a new one, I wanted to rule out a bad electrical outlet or a blown fuse in the panel. I called B&B Electric and when the appointment for the service call came, Rick and his crew were prompt, wearing masks, and thoroughly prepared with diagnostic equipment. They checked the outlet to make sure it was putting out enough volts to power the clothes washer. It was. So they checked the panel to rule out any blown fuses. Rick and his team are straightforward, extremely knowledgeable and SO nice. Will definitely call B&B Electric again. Thank you, B&B Electric! read more

Rick came out quickly on the weekend and fixed the problem with our outlets. Total professional. Thanks again!

We had an issue with a breaker on our electric panel and a general contractor referred us to Rick at B & B Electric. Rick came out quickly and was able to diagnose the problem and offered several solutions. Because we had a fairly dangerous Zinsco Panel, we decided to replace and upgrade the entire electric panel as well as relocate it. Rick is fast and professional. His work is very clean and attractive and he scheduled and met with the city inspector for our permit. He even worked with our home warranty provider to help cover some of the repairs. A few weeks later when I was having issues with my pool pump, he came out quickly and diagnosed and repaired the electrical system for the pool. His repair included changing the voltage of the pumps which should reduce the cost of operation. Very smart! I highly recommend Rick and B&B. Professional, clean, and fast. On top of that, he is a very, very nice guy. read more

Rick and his team came on time and find burned switch. Fixed and cleaned up and did few more things that I asked them to do. My refrigerator plug is fixed and others one that stop working is now functional. read more

Rick and Chris were EXCELLENT! We had a short circuit in our house, and I had troubleshot it as far as I was capable. Rick and Chris came in and listened to my explanation of the problem, what we were doing at the time, then dove in and started troubleshooting! They were far more thorough than I was, including going into the attic crawl space looking for signs of burned wiring. They were able to trace the problem down to a wire that I had excused as "ok", with better technology. Testing and repair and we are back in business, for less than I originally thought it would cost us! I highly recommend B & B Electric! read more

We needed a larger cut-out for a stove top replacement, a new ceiling light installed in the kitchen and some electrical switches upgraded. BNB quoted their costs for coming to our house and the hourly cost per man-hour so I knew in advance their costs. They came at the time they said they would and worked until finishing, only stopping for lunch. It was a job of cutting into tile, wood and concrete to make room for the stove top. Stove top was installed professionally as was the ceiling light that required a lot of ceiling prep (scraping old paint, sanding and repairing to match old paint). Professional clean-up at the end. We are very satisfied. read more

What can I say? Rick is the MAN!! We were without power to a portion of our house for two days and after pretty much taking the house apart and going crazy trying to fix it myself I hit a wall. I called up Rick on a Sunday evening and he was at my place in less than 30 minutes and fixed the problem in no time. Not only did he troubleshoot our problem but he gave my son and I some great lessons in electrical work. I highly recommend him!! read more

We contacted Rick on a Sunday morning because of a partial power problem in our home. The circuit breaker for my refrigerator tripped one night and I wasn't able to switch it back on. Rick answered my call that night and said he could check it out the next morning. In the meantime, he said I could plug in my fridge into a working outlet using an extension cord. I thought this was really great from him because it meant I didn't have to worry about food getting spoiled overnight. He showed up early the next morning and was able to get my circuit breaker working again. He even replaced the bulbs in my fridge with LED ones. Overall, Rick was very friendly, prompt, and communicated well. read more

Rick and his team were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and quick to come and help us with a pendant light installation. Even after a faulty pendant, they were happy to come back and install our replacement light - after using their company I will surely turn to them for any home issue we have in the future as I trust their judgement and their ability to diagnose and fix problems without making us feel incompetent for the little we know about this stuff! I highly recommend them and will definitely be using them in the future. read more

I scheduled an inspection appointment with Rick who showed up and evaluated the work that needed to be done. He said he would provide me with a quote. He never responded in 3 days after doing the inspection. I called and left voicemails, as well as several emails. After over one week I figured there was no point since he was not going to respond. He never gave a reason for not doing the work. Very unprofessional service. read more

I hired B&B Electric to install a dedicated outlet for my electric car and to install some lights around the home (porch light, lights in front of garage etc.). It was expensive but Rick (the owner and main electrician) talked about the quality of his work to justify the higher than average prices. Based on reviews here I decided to go for it. The work was done in a timely manner (this was about 6 months ago). I used LED lights that he recommended.. when I asked him for receipts at the end of the project, he laughed at me and said he didn't provide receipts for individual components (I told him this was insulting - the laughing part - and he apologized). About two weeks later, I started having trouble with the porch light. I emailed him and he switched out the LED bulb and it seems to have fixed the issue. However, about three months ago the porch light stopped working and another exterior light (installed by B&B) started malfunctioning (goes on and off randomly). I emailed Rick and he was very slow to respond. We've exchanged emails since then - the last was over a month ago - but the end result is , its been 3 months and both these problems still exist. Excuses don't work in the real world.. he's said the he's very busy. Those who are considering him, keep this in mind.. he will be too busy to fix problems arising from his work - as is evidenced in my case. I replaced the bulb on the porch light with a CFL and the bulb blew out in 3 days. So there's clearly something wrong with the installation performed by Rick. Since I don't have receipts for the LED bulbs (these are very pricey), I cannot go and use the warranty to replace these. The electric car's charging outlet is also giving me intermittent problems now. So overall, it seems like the work was not of good quality. I waited a while to post this review to give Rick enough time to fix the problems. I figure 3 months is long enough. I don't expect Rick to fix the issues now. He charged me quite a bit for this project and I'm very disappointed with the results. read more

Needed a skilled electrician to check out all the crazy loose wires in my attic. Rick came out the very next day. He and his helpers were very attentive to my needs. They not only secured all the wires but also fixed the broken attic fan I did not even know was up there. Rick is friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks for a job well done. read more

We needed HELP. Rick restored power to our house. Job Well Done,Thank you!

Rick saved my life! Very friendly and professional, exactly the kind of service we desperately needed!!! Thank you so much Rick!

Rick was really good on a late Friday night! Called around 7:15pm and he was at my place by 8:00PM. He had the issue diagnosed in 15 minutes and power restored to our unit after replacing the 100Amp break located at the meter. Great service and good guy. Thanks Rick!!! read more

Amazing customer service! Our power was in a brown out state when we came back from a weekend trip. I called Rick from B&B at 6:40am and it not only answered but said he send a truck to our house in the next 2 hours. While waiting for Rick to show up I diagnosed my issue by running my generator and realizing power worked to the house so it was clearly a PG&E issue. Thus, I didn't need the house call after all but I was extremely happy to have someone who was willing to come out so quickly. 5 stars. read more

Had a breaker box switch fail at a really bad time. Called B&B in the AM. Despite heavy schedule Rick took time out to come by to assess, replace and totally fix the problem, then he wouldn't let me pay him. What a guy! Good, professional, efficient work. Thanks. read more

The main breaker on the outside panel of my house went bad one evening and cut off the power to my whole house. I called Rick for an emergency repair at 10pm and he came out promptly. He did not have the replacement part on hand but he was able to get some of the power restored with a lower amp breaker. He came out the next morning with the replacement part but it had a bad thread therefore could not be installed correctly. He had to drive back to his supplier to get another one. He came back an hour later and installed the new breaker in 15 mins and all power was restored. The only gripe I have is that I was charged for his time to go back to his supplier for a new breaker because the one he originally picked up was not fully inspected for defects. I don't believe it is fair for me to incur that cost but I was at his mercy and I think he knew that. All in all, Rick is very good at what he does and you can see the quality but do not expect it to be cheap. I misunderstood his pricing structure and/or misheard him when we discuss the cost. Either way it was a costly mistake for me. read more

I had an outlet short circuit with smoke and melted wires on the day before Thanksgiving. I called Rick, and to my pleasant surprise he showed up within a half an hour. He was friendly and completed the repairs, patched the drywall and cleaned up within 2 hrs. His rates are reasonable and I would highly recommend B & B for your electrical issues. read more

Had a problem with my techs getting a small shock when they were using on particular piece of equipment. Rick came out and quickly identified the problem was with the way the outlet was wired. In just a few hours he ran new leg from the panel to the equipment and we were back up an running. Thanks for the quick service. read more

Excellent work by B&B Electric. When I had an electrical short sparking with flames inside my home, B&B Electric returned my call and made an appointment with me immediately. B&B identified the root-cause of the problem to a cable that had come loose on my range hood and was sparking against my cooktop which could potentially have caused a major fire. B&B measured and advised me on replacement of the cooktop & range hood, brought the materials to my house and installed both items perfectly. B&B is a pleasure to work with, on time for work and on budget - overall very professional. Will be using them again and am recommending them to my friends, family and fellow Yelpers. read more

Called Rick after business hours on Wed, told him about how we needed some minor electrical work done in our condo. Rick was professional and did an excellent job. Rats got into our attack and chewed on our wiring. Rick had to cut a whole in our vaulted ceiling, repair the wire, patch the sheet rock, and paint. By the time he was done, you would not have known there was a previous hole in the ceiling. A little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. It was nice not to have to coordinate a sheet rocker and painter and be done in 2-3hrs. We would hire him again. read more
