Stumbled upon this place while walking around. Was a very unique interior as you are below the train. You could here the trains passing overhead. Enjoyed our pasta dishes. Service was okay but a bit slow.

Came here before deciding to go back to our hotel after a day of touristing. The ambiance is very cute and the restaurant is a lot bigger than I expected. The prices were good and the food was okay. I feel like you get what you pay for here, this is a tourist area so the food isn't high quality Italian cuisine but it was good for the price. Our server was very nice and they serve good pirtions.

This was a good spot to have dinner on our first night in London. Make sure you call ahead and make reservations. We didn't make reservations, but they sat us right away. Waiting staff is polite and attentive. The scene is nice, right under a train passing, which gives it a bit of character. Would recommend.

Lovely Italian restaurant, the menu is well balanced with pasta, pizza, risotto and a selection of other mains and sides. As it was a particularly hot day it was a lovely escape from the heat (the Waterloo bridge arches make the inside of the restaurant cool (both in temperature and in terms of decor). I enjoyed my pizza very much and it was quite filling and so did everyone else with their respective meals. The only thing that I was not sure about was that the egg on the pizza was boiled and cut in 4, when I thought it would be one of those that they crack open on the pizza and it cooks with it. Just in case you wanted that, that's not it. The desserts were very tasty too, I recommend the hazelnut ice cream (tartufo something) as it was delicious and the chocolate orange tart if you are a fan of chocolate oranges. In general it's a good dinner option in Waterloo and you also get to escape the big chain restaurants that the area is full of.

After being in Paris for 4 days, thus was our first meal here that did not include steak and fries. What a breath of fresh air. We had the rigatoni that was pretty good, had a spicy kick to it. We also had the pollo Alfredo pizza that was super delicious. Posted a picture of it. The service was pretty good, super grateful to have such a good meal after being stuck with a lack of variety of food to eat. The folks here were really nice unlike in Paris too.

I visited midweek for lunch as a friend and I were looking for somewhere close to the station to grab food and catch up! The exterior of the restaurant looked inviting and the menu sounded delightful so in we went. There is a bar area with a good amount of comfortable looking seating as you first enter, then you walk to the back and to the left to get the more formal dining area. The restaurant is under railway arches and it's beautiful inside! We were pleased to spot they offered a lunch deal of £10.50 for any pizza or pasta and a drink (including wine, beer or soft drink). I had the goats cheese ravioli with a creamy chive sauce and it was so good! Really flavoursome, though the pasta was a little too al dente for my personal taste. My friend had the lasagne which looked heavenly and we shared a garlic bread (though I ended up not eating mine as it was a little too strong)! We then shared the affogato plus the chocolate orange cheesecake for dessert. Both were perfect. The affogato is fairly simple but was attractively displayed and the cheesecake was simply divine! The service was friendly and efficient, we enjoyed a very leisurely lunch and didn't feel rushed at all. Would definitely return!

Yesterday through work I was in London. Trying to catch the train back to Manchester, I caught up with some friends at Waterloo and went to Azzurro. I ordered Arancini as a starter and Carbonara for the main. The food was great but I have to say the carbonara wasn't authentic as it contains cream rather than just eggs and parmesan. The arancini was cooked just right as the risotto was not stodgy but with golden crispy breadcrumbs. The tomato sauce with parmesan was just right as it gave a well balanced flavour that wasn't overly salty, though I wish the dish had more than 3 balls. It is value for money for the main as you do get a lot of food especially for London price. In terms of service, it was ok but it could be improved as they forgot our dessert, which nearly made me miss my train as I arrived 5 minutes before leaving. Each of us ended up paying £24 each (4 people) for 3 course meal with drinks. Overall, value 4/5, food 4/5and service3/5

I always come here after going to the BFI IMAX as it's a convenient stagger from the bar there and then on to Waterloo station. The chairs are surprisingly comfortable which is a good job as I had just sat through a good three hours of Hobbit. Lots of fun but I was fairly numb from the waist down. The service is always pretty quick if not a bit 'pouty' from the young Italian staff, but quick is welcome when all you've had for the last few hours is the disgusting waft of someone else's popcorn. My dad had a pizza azzurro della casa (ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, onion, jalapeno peppers and olives) which was thin and crispy and lovely. My baby had spaghetti alla veneziana which she ate in record time, despite the fluffy earphones. I had risotto alla pescatora - another thumbs up. Mama had salmone et aneto although this Italian restaurant had run out of spinach at 6pm which meant she had to have rocket instead...and if you're anything like me you think rocket is what grows between the cracks on the pavement. Still, chocolate mousse, lemon cheesecake and pancakes with strawberries and raspberries all washed down with a nice bottle of sauvignon blanc and the total came to £85 which is a bargain if you ask me. One thing that bugs me about restaurants in general though....'an optional 10% service charge is added to the bill'. No, optional is when you choose to put it on, not when you are forced to pay it whether you think the service is good or not because you're so damn British that you can't bring yourself to commit the hostile act of removing it. A minor gripe and not limited to this restaurant alone, definitely worth a visit although the toilets appear to be designed with hobbits in mind.

AZZURO is right in the heart of waterloo,it is an italian bar and kitchen that serves all sorts of pasta to the very best of lovely italian wines, its a lovely place to hang with mates and prices are relatively alright for the average man/woman,during busy periods the bar is always filled up with people, sometimes you need to make reservations

I went there with my family as part of our trip to London. I have to admit that this place fulfilled my expectations, and I love it!! A Great option for Italian, the portions are the right size and the prices are acceptable . Nice service, and beautiful place. My only concern was the area where it is located, for it seems a little bit strange. Overall a good selection.

The upstairs is a corner view onto a street with dark woods and leather booths, while inside an open kitchen and a low-key young crew is putting out some simple, tasty food. Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The specials all sounded fantastic but I plumped for dandelion salad and the pumpkin and goats cheese pizza. Utterly yummy! Not excessive portions just packed with flavour. The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. There is a cocktail bar in the basement and a choice of some interesting sharing options on the main menu for groups. Prices are very reasonable and if my meal was anything to go by, the rest will be as good. I am well impressed.

Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

It's also basically on my street and one of the few sit downs open on weekends! However, each of my visits yielded a variable experience, meaning the quality consistency is lacking which means I wouldn't recommend it to a good friend. Not a good thing when it comes to lesser known restaurants. My first time, I was drawn in by the golden lights radiating from the bar and the warehouse lighting which looks almost chic when paired with the exposed brick and glass embellishments. Although my boss and I were the only ones here, the staff paid little to no attention to us - no greeting or any mind paid to us until we physically walked over the bar, distracting the group chatting away in their huddle. The wine was on the pricier side. The second time I came, the place was brimming with city brokers having Thirsty Thursday. The prosecco was decent and we had a nice time. Until we got the bill for the 3 shots of tequila we had which totalled £48. So that's over 15 pounds for each shot...when we queried the bill, the staff explained that the quality of the tequila he poured us explained the cost, exasperated with our stupidity. We said we were not going to pay for that just because when asked what kind, we had probably said "whatever" or "doesn't matter". Doesn't that usually mean house stuff? The third time I had post-birthday party brunch here where I opted for the Italian breakfast which means eggs, soppresetta, sour dough with pate?, tomato, and tuscan sausage. My tastebuds were (to be fair) taking a beating due to the hangover but it was just mediocre at best. Plus the stuff on the sour dough was strange and unpleasant. Canto and I are neighbours and I don't give up on my neighbours.
