    Dining fancy tonight.

This place is usually a busy and bustling hive of activity, to the point where even getting to your table can be a bit of an adventure. I always like to play 'How many people can I NOT hit on the head on the way in with my bag' game. To be fair, though, it is a pretty swanky-looking place, and not so highly-priced that you can't enjoy a delicious Italian dinner in the middle of the week. And, it's also conveniently-located in Southbank next to one of the busiest and hottest tourist spots in London. Due to the popularity of this restaurant as a dinner spot, chances are, you'll have to deal with sparse and lukewarm service. I ended up waiting at least 10 minutes in between each of my requests, whether it was a glass of water or the bill at the end of my meal. I try not to hold it against them, as I know they're busy, but when you're left with your hand in the air every single time you try to flag down the server who walks right by you, it tends to get old... and embarrassing. The food, however, is delicious. I've never been one for Italian food, but I have to admit, I would eat this fare over and over again. From the starters to the mains, whoever is in that kitchen really knows what they're doing. I really enjoyed the small portion of chewy dough balls with Parmesan shavings, and I absolutely loved the carbonara with crispy pancetta. It was the perfect balance between creamy, chewy, and filling, without bursting the buttons on my pants. Would I recommend it? Yes. Should you be in a hurry/ bad mood when you come? Absolutely not.

We stopped for a small bite and my family shared the margarita pizza and Italian bread appetizer. It was a perfect option for a quick bite mid day. Both were delicious!

Good breads and pasta. Nothing mind blowing but I was happy with my meal. Service was fast.

A cold windy evening in London and whilst walking along the Southbank the old hunger pangs kick in. There are a number of choices but we decided in Italian - which is always a good choice and seeing that this place is busy we just know it's going to be good...... The staff were all friendly and helpful from the moment you walk through the door. The food choice is limited but good value. So why only four stars out of five? Well there was a delay on one of the main meals which meant that not everyone was eating at the same time

SO GLAD WE CAME, unplanned after we walked out of Giraffe (two doors down) b/c none of the workers there bothered to serve us... at Strada the cooks were workin' so fast that the waiters couldn't keep up!! it's located right on the River of Thames & very close to the London Eye, which was convenient after our ride great food at this London italian chain & very accommodating staff!! --goat cheese salad: flavorful with tons of roasted veggies & very filling as far as salads go --salmon & sea bass: both fish dishes were cooked perfectly --tiramisu: yummy & just enough rum and espresso flavor --Bunet (like chocolate mousse): just okay NOTE: as usual, if you don't want to pay for bottled water, you've got to specify tap water, which isn't the norm

Great little place on my walk around London. Feeling a bit sad because of one of my friends recommend I quit drinking. I stopped drinking for months and have only had one drink since Vegas earlier this year. I had the drink because of a friends bday and haven't had one since. I feel I have lost my friend even tho I quit drinking and because of that today I have decided to get this small drink for my efforts in my travels and my success. I have no need to get drunk but instead I'm sad about the relation. I wish my friend would reply to me but in the end if I need to move on... I will stay strong.

Chicken with mushroom sauce with broccoli replacing the potatoes.

Came here as we were looking for something quick and reasonable to eat. We were seated instantly indoors which was good as we had a party of 5. The menu itself was very generic however there was enough to cater to the party. We were served promptly and our hostess was able to substitute any sides/extras we required with our meals. I myself had chicken in mushroom sauce with broccoli replacing the potatoes. It was a very nice meal however the chicken was on the small side. One of my friends had asked for a side of broccoli with his burger and fries however instead of being bought out fries he was provided two portions of broccoli. To compound this it took a while for this to be corrected. Apart from this faux-pas the restaurant was a good choice overall with my friends enjoying their burgers. The price was reasonable however their beer selection could offer a wider range.

For all those complaining of the "wait" and "bad service" get over yourself it's downtown London. What do you expect? Stop writing 1 star reviews because places are busy. Anyways, I waited about 15 minutes for a delicious risotto (one of the popular dishes here) and a penne pomodoro with fresh mozzarella. It's hard to come by relatively authentic food in England other than Indian and I give the place a solid 5 Stars for excellent service given its location and delicious food. Right outside you can find fun stands with delicious desserts in the winter as well.

The upstairs is a corner view onto a street with dark woods and leather booths, while inside an open kitchen and a low-key young crew is putting out some simple, tasty food. Mostly appetizers, pastas and some pesce and carne dishes. Not a destination, but a good spot and one of the few restaurants on the street open on a Sunday. The downstairs basement hosts a cocktail bar that was closed on the Sunday we visited. We enjoyed the feel of the place, along with a bit of montepulciano d'abruzzo, some olives, a green salad, pork belly and a toothsome risotto with zucchini and prawns. Not a bad meal, priced pretty well, and a nice setting with friendly staff. We had such a good time that we failed to notice the police inspectress inside talking to the Paesan crew. The white and red police tape line both inside and outside the restaurant were in our peripheral view the whole dinner, but once outside, we noticed that a gigantic police triangle of tape took up the entire street corner, a female inspector was stationed there, and that down on the cobblestone sidewalk, a streetful of dessicated lemon and lime wedges lay from the night before, leading us to ponder, what exactly had happened here?

The specials all sounded fantastic but I plumped for dandelion salad and the pumpkin and goats cheese pizza. Utterly yummy! Not excessive portions just packed with flavour. The waitress was helpful and calm and the red wine warm and fruity. I'll come again for definites. There is a cocktail bar in the basement and a choice of some interesting sharing options on the main menu for groups. Prices are very reasonable and if my meal was anything to go by, the rest will be as good. I am well impressed.

Instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally, the owner became extremely rude and dismissive. Shockingly, he brought us the bill immediately, refused to serve the rest of the items we had already ordered (including the tiramisu), and directly asked us to leave the restaurant. We were calm and respectful throughout the interaction, but he refused to even listen to our side before abruptly ending the conversation with, "I'll get your bill," and telling us to leave. I honestly don't know whether he was irritated because we had an infant with us or because we requested a modification, but the behaviour was completely unacceptable and deeply disappointing. I still can't believe a restaurant in London could treat customers this way. Truly unbelievable service and an experience I would never want anyone else to go through. We initially ordered 3 items. The pizza was absolutely fine, so we never raised any concern about it. However, the pasta simply didn't suit our taste buds, so we politely requested a few alterations. Instead of handling it professionally, you refused to serve the tiramisu as well -- assuming we'd dislike that too and ask for modifications? Honestly, I wish I had taken a picture of the pasta to show how it looked. As a restaurant owner, you should understand that every customer has different taste preferences. And just for clarification -- we never asked for the pasta to be cancelled. In fact, we were even willing to pack it and take it home after paying for it, despite not liking the taste. You were the one who offered to cancel the remaining order, and we simply agreed. I would humbly request whoever is in charge to please check the CCTV footage and see whether we were ever rude while requesting alterations. Throughout the interaction, you only kept speaking from your side and didn't even give my wife a chance to explain. Is that really what good customer service looks like?

However, each of my visits yielded a variable experience, meaning the quality consistency is lacking which means I wouldn't recommend it to a good friend. Not a good thing when it comes to lesser known restaurants. My first time, I was drawn in by the golden lights radiating from the bar and the warehouse lighting which looks almost chic when paired with the exposed brick and glass embellishments. Although my boss and I were the only ones here, the staff paid little to no attention to us - no greeting or any mind paid to us until we physically walked over the bar, distracting the group chatting away in their huddle. The wine was on the pricier side. The second time I came, the place was brimming with city brokers having Thirsty Thursday. The prosecco was decent and we had a nice time. Until we got the bill for the 3 shots of tequila we had which totalled £48. So that's over 15 pounds for each shot...when we queried the bill, the staff explained that the quality of the tequila he poured us explained the cost, exasperated with our stupidity. We said we were not going to pay for that just because when asked what kind, we had probably said "whatever" or "doesn't matter". Doesn't that usually mean house stuff? The third time I had post-birthday party brunch here where I opted for the Italian breakfast which means eggs, soppresetta, sour dough with pate?, tomato, and tuscan sausage. My tastebuds were (to be fair) taking a beating due to the hangover but it was just mediocre at best. Plus the stuff on the sour dough was strange and unpleasant.
