All the food was very good, as was my martini with blue cheese olives. The octopus was good but definitely overpriced, probably wouldn't order it again. The restaurant is in a residential area and it's noticeably less touristy (which, was great for me!). Seemed like a place locals go. read more

Azur is a charming, relaxed, "nicer" venue, tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and just a short stroll from the craziness that is Key West. It features really excellent, inventive Mediterranean food in a pleasant, casual-but-upscale atmosphere. There are both indoor and outdoor dining options. Service was good although the server seemed unprepared, and a bit taken aback, when I asked for a description of the Beef Cous-Cous. ("It's beef served over cous-cous.") She was so pleasant, though, and attentive, that we soon forgave the lack of menu knowledge. And, by the way, the Beef Cous-Cous was out-of-this-world delicious. Prices were quite good, by the way, with some very reasonable wines, as well. Definitely worth a repeat visit on our next trip down! read more

Perfect. Black grouper special was amazing. Strip steak with chimichurri was also delicious. The charred pulpo (octopus) was good as well. Drinks are wonderful and generous, and the blue cheese olives are hand-stuffed. Our server was quick and attentive, and everyone was very friendly. In addition, we were able to sit outside with our dog. As locals we are always trying to find pet-friendly dining options, and Azur is only a few blocks away. We will be back! read more

OMG! The Roesti was amazing. While discussing our options with the table, our neighbor overheard us and said we needed to have It and boy was she right. Great upscale restaurant for those who are willing to spend a little. No dress code but there was definitely an expectation in there. Also no kids menu, though that was to be expected. The food and service was incredible. Tap water was free, but bottled water or sparkling water was 7 dollars a liter. Obviously overpriced, but nothing unexpected for a higher-end restaurant like Azur. There was free bread and infused oil throughout the night, always fresh and hot. The bread we used to mop up sauce from any and all of the dishes--delicious. We had the octopus and clams for appetizers, both absolutely delectable. The octopus was tender but not chewy, the clams were perfectly cooked in a slightly spicy sauce as well. For entrées we had the pork tenderloin, seafood risotto, and yellowtail snapper. The pork was perfectly cooked, but wasn't particularly special. The snapper was also cooked just tender, but ended up a little mushy and overcooked once it sat for too long. The sauce and potatoes it came with were covered in a rich, buttery sauce, very filling despite the typical undersized portions. The risotto was easily the best dish we had--all of the clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, etc. were delicious. The rice was glossy and wasn't mushy at all. It was the most expensive entrée we had, but the portion size and quality was also the best. Overall, one of the greatest restaurant experiences I've had. Very good food for the pretty penny it costed. I would certainly come here again for any special occasion. Too costly to go everyday, but definitely a treat. read more

We came here for a late dinner after a sunset cruise to meet up with a friend who just drove in from Miami. It was probably about 9pm when we got here hardly any other diners and definitely no one else when we finally left. The service was excellent and at no time did we ever feel rushed to leave. He had a nice table outside and our server paid great attention to all our needs. Probably my favorite dinner during my entire trip. My friend and I shared a number of dishes started with the romaine salad. Pulpo 16-charred octopus, half a dozen oysters and the seafood risotto. The seafood risotto was like a risotto paella fresh delicious seafood with roasted peppers, chorizo and sweet peas. Our friend hand the pan roasted chicken served with haricot verts, pancetta and chilled dijon potatoes in a truffle vinaigrette. Loved the ambiance as much as the food at this great spot so glad my friend suggested it. read more

Brunch on our 2nd morning found us at Azur. Our hotel had provided coupons for a free mimosa w/ entree so this was an easy decision for us The glasses were tiny & not the mimosas everyone else was drinking so after our shot glass sized version, we found ourselves ordering the regular size which was a bit frustrating but what do you expect for free, I guess? Mr ordered the potato pancake benny ( hold the meat ) and liked his okay - there was a lot of arugula & the pancake part was pretty thin but the dish was flavorful I ordered the Key Lime Pie French Toast - expecting there to be a lime-flavored custard mix that soaked the bread, I was shocked to see my plate contained french toast triangles mixed w/ actual key lime pie. Wasn't a fan until the next morning after it had been sitting in the fridge overnight - this dish was much better cold Buddy ordered the crabcake benny - served on a thin flatbread, she loved the crabcake part but the flatbread grew soggy quickly from the tomato & sauce. When she had her order boxed up, they left out her leftover potatoes. She was extremely perturbed & we heard about it for the rest of the day.....but point well taken. It would have been nice to either bring out boxes for us to take or leave behind what we wanted or just box up everything if you're going to box it for us.....not a happy surprise to find part of the meal was missing Service seemed to focus on the locals there & we were definitely on island time there. This seems to be a local spot because everyone knew each other. There is parking so don't park on the street two blocks away and walk in the heat like I did. Carbonara for breakfast - amazing, filling, probably wouldn't have chosen it but I was on vacation and not worrying about heavy creamy pasta for breakfast. I've never really had anything like this either and it was awesome. Benedict's were popular, lots of people had them around us including my husband who got the one with snapper. I feel like a Benedict is a Benedict for the most part and it didn't blow my mind when I sampled it. You could tell too the sauce sat in the window just a little too long because it had that slight film on it. Still good, just being critical. Eggs were cooked beautifully. Higher end type restaurant in key West. We spent a few days in Ket West and went here twice. Once for brunch and once for dinner Great brunch options and was very tasty. The French toast would have been better if served with Texas style toast but was very good. The hash was good but not as much meat as I had expected. Overall I have to give brunch a 4. Dinner was very good as well. Nice selection of cocktails. The swordfish was excellent. The risotto was great as well. worth the trip if you don't mind spending a little more. read more

Our reservation was made though a third party. On arrival we were told we were not listed. The Maître D seemed to be suffering from a personality disorder. He went from good evening to we don't have a booking for you please leave and never darken our towels again rudeness much too quickly. He didn't attempt an accommodation. The salad selection are salads, with various lettuces (frisée, arugula, or romaine) homemade fresh dressings, and freshly prepared dressing. There's a choice of gnocchi course, as well as small plates, entrees, salads, appetizers, and desserts. Wine and beer are served, as well as sparkling wines and dessert wines. The restaurant is clean and warmly decorated, with both indoor and outdoor porch seating. The staff is helpful, pleasant, and friendly. We visited for dinner on the first day of our Key West vacation and on our third (and last) night as well. I enjoyed the pear and frisée salad with the gnocchi with beef rib sauce as well as the goat cheese and arugula salad and the Swiss chars and porcini mushroom gnocchi. My partner loved the Caesar Salad and rack of lamb as well as the gnocchi Amatriciana. Reservations are accepted. read more

The Key West dining scene is strongly competitive. To stand out you must be exceptional. Azur is just that. Reservations are strongly encouraged. The dining area embodies the openness of Key West, outside dining in particular. Chefs and service staff are professional yet cordial. Our brunch was outstanding. All the foods were well prepared and well presented. The fruits, and juice were fresh and slightly chilled. The whole grain bread was very fresh as well. After a weeks worth of very good dining this was the most relaxing and satisfying meal we've had. read more

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge. We were looking for a new place for breakfast. The service was horrible. We waited for coffee for 15 minutes and asked 3 times. The food was average ( I ordered the special, and barely ate it). The table next to us sent her dish back because she found a hair in her dish and all that was done about it was the waiter saying "oh I am sorry that happened". Very nice ambiance, romantic outdoor seating area with great service. The food is high end with a twist to it. The fresh grouper was delicious and the homemade gnocchi were amazing! I wasn't thrilled with some of the small tasting plates and I think it's just my individual palate. Didn't like the filled figs they were very strong in taste and the eggplant was odd in texture for me. However, the entrees and salads were spectacular. They have a nice wine selection as well. After spending the day out on the water kayaking, snorkeling and watching the sunset, we were wind-whipped, starving and having a difficult time determining where to dine for the evening. We didn't want to deal with the crowds on Duval so we wandered a bit off the beaten path to check out some restaurants I had bookmarked. One was closed, and the other was open: Azur. What a gem! We had some of the best service and food at Azur during our entire trip. We split a few dishes: the special appetizer for the night which was a warm, grilled octopus; Key West pink shrimp, mushroom and asparagus gnocchi, and pecan pie. Everything was perfectly cooked. The shrimp, simply prepared in lemon and garlic, were some of the best I've had, and the octopus was tender and fresh. We split the gnocci since sometimes eating a whole plate of of it can sit like lead in your stomach, but Azur's gnocci was light, fluffy and full of flavor. The water said the chef prepares it with an equal amount of flour and potato to help keep it light. I'd say it worked! The dessert special, pecan pie with cardamom ice cream, was a sweet and tasty end to the meal. My husband wanted scotch to finish out dinner, but Azur does not have a license for hard liquor, although they do offer 3 types of port. My husband and I had a nice lunch here today. My husband got the Carbonara. I tasted it as well. It was nice. Could of used a little more seasoning. The pasta could have been a little more aldente. I didnt understand the concept of additional creamy eggs on top of creamy pasta. It could have really used another texture and maybe some citrus. I would reccomend a side of buttered garlic bread or toast with it. I got the Braised beef hash. I liked it and my husband did as well. The potatoes had a little crunch on some of them, which was nice. The truffle hollandaise was very good with it. My husband isnt a hollandaise fan but he enjoyed it too. The service was somewhat slow even though it didnt seem to be very busy. We were there 15 minutes before our order was taken. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The price was good for the quality of food. I would reccomend it. read more

Based on Yelp reviews I'd read, this place made my list of places to try in Key West. However, I'd have to say it was one of the few disappointments I've experienced from a Yelp-based dining decision. It wasn't that it was awful in any way, it was just an over-priced mediocre experience. We biked up from The Reach to Azur on a weekday morning...late enough that we didn't expect to be the only ones in the place. There was more staff than there were diners (just the two of us), yet we seemed like an inconvenience to them. Given that it was breakfast and they weren't busy, it seemed like our food took forever. My wife tried to order the Crab Cake Benedict, but was informed by our French-speaking waiter, "....the crabs...they are not good." She got a rather uninspired and flavorless frittata. I got spaghetti carbonara (a dish with which I've had a minor obsession my entire life). My carbonara tasted OK, but arrived cold...felt like leftovers. Our experience here felt like a sort of half-assed stab at a gourmet breakfast, offered at a full-assed price. It may be a good spot for dinner (per the reviews of other), but I cannot recommend it for breakfast. read more

The service was fine but the food could have been better. We had their octopus appetizer and it was charred and chopped up into really small pieces. It was overly salty and mostly burnt. Second appetizer of clams in white wine sauce was much better but nothing to write home about. I had their signature yellow tail and it could have been cardboard. It was bland and bland. On the other hand, my wife and 2 kids seem to enjoy their dinner. Perhaps I should have sent stuff back to the kitchen , it woul dhave given them a chance to make the corrections or send me something else. read more

We make one or two trips to Key West annually and Azur is always a stop at least one morning of the trip for a delicious breakfast. They have a wonderful patio with tropical foliage and a waterfall fountain. The service is prompt and friendly. They usually have extremely creative specials and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. This trip, we were seated at our favorite table next to the fountain. We started with a couple of mimosas, perfectly made with delicious Florida orange juice. My partner had the carbonara breakfast, which I've had before and is delicious. After eyeing it for several trips, I finally broke down and ordered up the key lime pie french toast. The food came out quickly and lived up to every expectation. I had wondered how the french toast would appear and was pleasantly surprised; it was 4 slices of french toast and 2 slices of key lime pie layered and drizzled with berries and berry puree. Very rich, yet not too heavy. I somehow managed to plow through the entire plate. My partner's carbonara was exactly how I remembered it. Topped with a poached egg, the dish is covered in a perfectly made sauce with delicious pasta. Although this place is a hike from Duval, it's a pleasant one and well worth the trip. read more

This is a review for breakfast/brunch. Hands down the best breakfast food we've had anywhere in Key West and probably all of Florida. I had short rib hash with poached eggs and a truffle hollandaise. It was fresh, beautiful Yukon golds mashed in to the hash. Not greasy at all, which often happens to hash, especially short rib. I've included a photo of the dish. My wife had the Azur benedict. It was poached salmon on top of house made flat bread with poached eggs, capers, and a tobiko topped hollandaise. Accompanied by breakfast potatoes and a grilled plum tomato. She says it is her favorite rendition of that dish anywhere. The salmon appeared to be smoked or cured instead of poached as the menu described, but she preferred it that way. Only possible detractor was a lack of breakfast cocktails. Appears to be wine/beer only, and we were not offered any alcohol, but did notice some meh looking mimosas pass by to another table. read more

The hotel clerk recommended this place for dinner when I arrived late, but I ended up going for breakfast due to its convenience and interesting sounding menu. I ordered the corned beef hash which came with two poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, a roasted tomato, and the best tasting toasted and buttered slice of brioche bread. The meal was very delicious and satisfying. The cafe was very cute with an outside patio. The server was very friendly and nice. read more

Great food and service. Started with the octopus and tuna carpaccio. The octopus was excellent, my only complaint would be that the capers sometimes overtook the flavor of the octopus so made sure not to have any on my fork when I took a bite. Otherwise the flavor of the capers came through just right. The tuna carpaccio was good, but I felt the tuna was cut too thick. One of my favorite carpaccio's was at a local place at home that cut it really thin. For my main course I had the fresh Grouper special. The Grouper was cooked perfect in a tomato base and beans. My wife got the pork loin which first came under cooked. Serving pork under cooked is not a good idea. They quickly fixed the problem and she enjoyed the pork. The service was top notch. Very knowledgeable waiter and great support staff. The atmosphere was great. Very quiet and nice setting. Price was alittle high, but the quality made up for it. read more
