I thought both were going to be major issues. I thought I needed an additional pump for the hot tub. And I thought the salt cell chlorinator would need at least a new motherboard, if not a complete replacement. Jaden did about 10 minutes of poking around and told me that 1) the pump issue was simply being caused by a rock that was jammed into one of the pumps, likely from the construction stage and 2) the salt cell was not receiving power because a previous (another company) technicians rewired it to a non-functional part of my panel. So, after an hour, I had fully functioning jets in the hot tub. A functional salt cell. And he even got my pool lights working. (I had never been able to use them and had given it up). So can't recommend this company and Jaden specifically any more highly.

To finish the job, Gary and Son's was recommended to me by a friend. Of the four bids I got, Gary was the only one that walked the project and gave me some great ideas. As Dara proves, he was in line with the others. Within a month we were adding water to the pool, which had been sitting for nearly a year. The job looks fantastic and his ideas paid off. He's very proud of the company and I'm glad we went with him. The only cons, which are not enough to remove a star from my rating, were these. Once the pool had water and was working, he was done. Other companies give the first 30 days of support with it. I was caught off guard and had to quickly find someone. The only other con was that our communication could have been better. No details needed, he's a nice guy and a trustworthy guy too. He shared the store that he buys tile from, so I could go shop and save some money at the same time. He came to check the work often. When he looked at the old builders work, he went so far as to remove the tile they put in, since it was a bad job. And, the auto fill that was installed too low, he was able to fix it. I definitely think having Gary and Son's was the right call and I can easily recommend them.

I apologize but you will need to find another company for all three pools . At Martinez you have too many cracks in the pool and per Mauricio pool looses too much water and will make us use a lot more chemicals. Sorry for this but I can no longer help". I'd told them that the filter had been replaced on 2/27 and the water hadn't been on and I would have helped on any extra chemical expense. I'd told them the situation with the filter when they started. But she didn't bother asking and just left me stranded.So they behaved in a very inconsiderate and unprofessional manner. And, they misdiagnosed what was going on with a pool. If everything is simple, and they can do it their way , they're probably fine but their priority is themselves, not the customer.

I was quite impressed with the Yelp reviews of Melo's Pools. I sent a quote request via Yelp and had a response within 10 minutes! Appointment was set for five days later. Albert and Pablo arrived to my home on time. They measured, took pictures and assessed the pool along with the pool pump system. We discussed ideas, timelines, finance options and they left me with a book that contained sample ideas. The following week I met both of them at their showroom to look at the actual tiles and find a match for the pebble. Albert and Pablo were great at making suggestions and giving me space without any pressures of making a decision, signing a contract, etc. A couple weeks later I signed contract and a demo date was set. The crew was on time the first day, and that stayed true until end of project. To no surprise there was a leak detected after opening up the plaster. Mauricio, the project manager, brought it to my attention immediately. He showed me the issue, explained what needed to be done, had a plan ready to go and with my sign off they had the issue fixed expeditiously and the project was kept on track. As a matter of fact, the project was completed a week earlier! Even my neighbors commented how quickly they worked and how great the pool turned out. From Day 1 to the end, the entire crew was respectful. Mauricio kept me updated on the progress of the project. Even after the project, Pablo and Mauricio came back (each separately) to ensure all was good. As I explained to them both, the tile is even more beautiful in the daylight and the colored grout was a perfect match! Worth every penny. Customer service is above and beyond at Melo's.
