The first time we used them the person that came gave us a lot of different options on how to fix the problems we were having which is helpful when you are trying to figure out to fit this kind of stuff in the budget. Their pricing is reasonable and I have no complaints about the quality of the work. In the past, I have had to call back electricians after they were done but I haven't had that experience with McCurdy. Communication has been really open as well which is not something I really appreciate in these kind of service providers. Most recently we had an emergency situation and were very flexible and responsive. Overall they are our family's preferred service provider for electrical work.

Mike was knowledgeable, personable and professional, he was very helpful with ideas. He mounted the 65 inch in a perfect spot with no wires visible. He removed the 40 inch that was mounted over the fireplace in our kitchen and installed it in the guest bedroom, again with no wires visible and then he mounted the 46 inch over the fireplace in the kitchen. The job was completed in about 3 hours and cleaned up like he was never here. I highly recommend Mike and Petraglia Services to anyone remodeling their home. John and Karen Capone West Peabody

TL;DR: extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Trust the negative reviews. Do not hire…read more I hired Mike to remove an old mount and install a Mantelmount MM700. He was quick to call me, send me an estimate and it made me believe he knew the mount. We scheduled the install and he showed up alone. During the install: - he installed the new mount upside down on the wall. He had to remove it and remount, leaving two extra holes on the wall that he tried to hide with the wall cover clips that come with the mount - he installed an optional swivel kit without asking, so the TV now swivels only in one direction - removing the old mount created a hole that was patched up poorly - the TV was not mounted level - the handle of the mount was not secured - I had to purchase a separate adapter for the soundbar. He said he'd come back to finish the job when the adapter would come in. Unfortunately, I did not realize the problems with the install before I sent him a payment. I then reached out to ask to patch the extra holes he created on the wall because of the mount flip and to remove the optional swivel plate he installed without asking. I asked if he could do it when he was supposed to come back to finish to install the soundbar. He agreed. The adapter for the soundbar came in and I sent him texts to schedule the install. Like other reviews pointed out, this is when the ghosting started. So I was left with a botched wall patch up, holes on the wall because an incompetent install, a TV that can swivel only in one direction and a soundbar adapter to install. I sent a chargeback for part of the payment on Venmo because of these issues and lack of response on his end. As quick as he was to ghost, he was also quick to call right after the chargeback. He lied about responding to my messages and threatened to beat me up. Do not work with this guy if you expect someone competent and reliable.

Puccio Electric installed an electric range for me, and saved me a ton of money by realizing that I didn't need a full electric service upgrade. They recommended a less involved job of just wiring in an extra electrical socket for the new range. Special shout out to Tony for the helpful frog. I owe them my future business and will be calling them again.

With the caveat that it's difficult to schedule time with them (because they're so busy), I'd…read morehighly recommend Puccio Electric. I had a challenging wiring problem (undetectable via instrumentation due to metal in walls) that my first electrician refused to fix, but Puccio was able to resolve (although it took two visits). While at my home, I also had them address some minor issues (e.g., 1 outlet replaced, 1 junction upgraded to light switch) in addition to the main wiring problem. The team was friendly, professional and cleaned up after. They told me up front what their hourly rate was and warned me in advance what the total cost might be. The final bill reflected that rate/estimate (and minimal materials cost with expected hours) so I feel they are very honest. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are expensive (initial visit / 1st hour is about 300$, but less after that), but I can tell you that a good electrician is very hard to find and they are worth it. If you have an urgent problem or are on a tight budget, you may wish to look elsewhere, but if you want excellent electricians and are patient, use Puccio.

We were looking to rewire some knob-and-tube that was discovered during a MassSave assessment. The…read moreelectrician who did the assessment was thorough and mapped out the circuits and the loads - essentially, put together a work scope. We used this work scope to get estimates from multiple electrical companies. We got a total of 4 estimates, of which JP McCurdy was one. The other three electricians did a quick visual inspection to make sure the work scope was accurate and provided estimates. They did not charge for this. But JP McCurdy insisted that they would do their own assessment and would not accept the work scope we provide. They said they would charge $250 for this. This charge wasn't mentioned in the initial phone call when I scheduled the assessment. If they had, I wouldn't even have scheduled it. But they called me the morning of the assessment and said that there would be a charge and required a credit card. I was having scheduling issues with the other electricians and wanted to have options (McCurdy said they can start pretty much right away), so I agreed. When their assessors arrived, I provided them a print out of the work scope and mentioned that their office said they would do their own assessment. But the McCurdy assessors said the work scope looks detailed and so they don't need to their own assessment. They spent fewer than 5 mins at my property - less time than the other 3 electricians. When I called the office to dispute the charge on the basis that they accepted our work scope and didn't perform their own assessment, I was stonewalled. But eventually I was passed on to John McCurdy (owner?), who again argued that the charge was their policy. Eventually he said he will refund part of the charge. I have waited 1 month for this refund to appear. But this hasn't happened. Furthermore, they were the most expensive of the 4 quotes, by a lot. Overall a really terrible experience. These guys are unethical and dishonest. Avoid them at all costs.
