Duck gyoza and pork baos. Dip your bao in the gyoza sauce for an epic flavor experience!

Asian meets Puerto Rican flavors at the amazing Azalea! We loved our Christmas Eve dinner at this local favorite in Old San Juan. Highlights were the duck gyoza, which came with a really delicious sauce, the pork bao (dip your bao in the gyoza sauce for an awesome combination!), the sushi (we got the guava sushi, and the Azalea, as one of us doesn't eat raw fish), and the incredible apple pie cobbler. Our amazing server, Emmanuel, was so attentive and the atmosphere was so chic yet inviting. Highly recommend making reservations ahead of time on OpenTable or Yelp, they fill up fast!

Highly recommend Azalea!! I stopped in on a whim while walking Old San Juan with a friend on vacation. We had a craving for sushi and this place did not disappoint. It has a beautifully curated menu. You won't find your typical rolls here which definitely drew me to try it out! I had the Geisha cocktail which was well balanced and complimented the meal well. We started off with the ceviche which was refreshing and delicious! We split 3 different rolls, all different and unique but we loved them all! I think my favorites were the Guava Paow and Azalea roll! I thought the rolls were on the smaller side but the ceviche was a good size appetizer for two. The restaurant has a bar in the front then the back is a more intimate quiet ambiance that is beautifully decorated. Service was the a bit slow but overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend!

I was torn about giving this restaurant a perfect score. The truth is that the servers were really nice and the food was great. When we arrived, we walked in and did not have a reservation. A server suggested we sit at the bar. We did and chatted with other guests that were dining at the bar too. We ordered drinks which came quickly and House water. We placed our orders for food a bit later. The food took more than 15 minutes to come out. What was strange? is that the other diners who arrived after us got their food first. The survey explained to me because I ordered two appetizers and I wanted them to come out all at the same time that my food was taking longer. i'm not really sure how that works. But even after he told me that we waited still for about 15 minutes. We ordered the cauliflower to sushi rolls and a shrimp dish. We also had two drinks. The bill came to just $100. As I said, the food was good but the wait for the food at the bar was really long.

I've had slower service... I think, but I can't remember where. Food is good, but it's beyond Puerto Rican slow, it's just annoying. Came here for a special occasion dinner and spent the evening staring at empty glasses and plates. Service is politely rude. I'd go somewhere else unless you honestly don't care about time and just want to chill until food arrives. Then you'll be happy.

Just stopped for drinks. The lovely hostess was so kind to let us have a table for 30min before going to another spot for dinner

My friends and I were walking by and saw how cute this place was. We love Asian food so we wanted to come for dinner later that night. We got some drinks and started off with edamame and duck gyoza. Gyoza was pretty good and edamame is always good anywhere. We then ordered sushi rolls and noticed how small they were compared to the price you pay! My friend got a chicken curry dish she thoroughly enjoyed. We all enjoyed our food but the place is a bit overpriced for what you pay for. Not the best sushi I've had but it hit the spot. This was our more expensive restaurant we ate at on our trip. The staff was attentive and nice.

We absolutely loved this place and kept talking about it the entire 3/4 days after, on our trip! The ambience was super cute for a double date, the waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable and the service was quick! The food and drinks were delicious! Definitely recommend!

Good food but not totally impressed! This was our first time in Puerto Rico and this was the first restaurant we ventured to. We had a reservation so we were seated right away which is nice! The restaurant is super cute and the ambiance is perfect for a quaint date night! We started out ordering some cocktails and appetizers. The Geisha cocktail is a must try (don't be deterred by the sesame seeds - they were a great addition). For appetizers we had the Duck Gyoza and the Ceviche! Absolutely no complaints about the appetizers! They were flavorful and delish! For dinner we ordered the Agemono Roll, Avocado Roll and General Tso chicken. The Agemono Roll and the avocado roll were delicious! The General Tso while flavorful was entirely too dry!! The reason I am giving this restaurant experience 3 stars is because the service was not very good. There were people who were seated after us who received their food well before us. The server rarely came and checked in with us either. Overall it took almost 2 hours to get our dinner. Also the restaurant ran out of salmon so a lot of what we wanted to order wasn't available. All in all, not a bad place by any means but we just weren't wowed by our experience.

    Ambience from the bar

Everything was perfect to the fast customers service to the great recommendation and the food was to perfection definitely recommend especially ask for Jeffery took very good care of us

I can't recommend this place. Service was great, waiter was very attentive. The duck gyoza was pretty decent. Both of the sushi rolls were not very good. Rice was not firm, too soft. Prices were too high for the low quality sushi.

    General Tso's

Everything was amazing here. Excellent drink quality, the sushi was exceptional, our table felt like a private nestle, and the service was thorough.

I admittedly had low expectations for Chinese food in PR, but the lo mein with chicken was delicious! They also had a few vegan options, like the imperial ginger w tofu (essentially sweet & sour tofu) that comes with a side of rice. My lo mein did not come with a side of rice but the portion size could be split among two people, and you can add a side of rice for a small up charge. The vibe is a black & red Asian decor, with a rap around bar and a few restaurant tables. There is also a walk-up boba bar attached that's available on the dining menu.

We tried the pan fried veggie dumplings, scallion pancake, hongkong noodles, imperial ginger tofu, black bean chicken, ube pudding and donut with condensed milk. Also 4 drinks - ranging from floral soju based, tropical gin based to fruity bourbon ones. Everything tasted alright - but don't go here expecting authentic flavors - just get ur trip fix ins for asian inspired food. Also I'd skip the imperial ginger and anything that has sweet spicy description as those dishes only lean toward sweet sugary sauce flavors. Service is good but they took really long to come out with the desserts and then the check.

Great flavors but the execution could improve. I would have like the 'bacalaito' to be more crispy. - Cabrito Dumpling: Tender goat stew dumpling with Asian spices. It was tasty but be mindful that the 'cabrito' flavors are rich and intense specially in this take. Also the dough was a little thick to my liking. Tender pieces of steak mixed with an egg yolk to give it the perfect smoothness and richness. Composed of cucumber, pomegranate and 'platanutres' very refreshing like a palette cleansing. - Daniel Udon Noodle: Paired with 'longaniza' sausage this time, protein can vary. This dish delivered the best umami flavors. The noodles had great texture. - A la Vietnamita, Chuleta: The 'chuleta' (pork chop) were perfectly cooked, tasty. I fought for the bone piece. Comes with side of lettuce leaves, to make wraps. - Where's the Beef: Grilled picanha steak, we ask for medium, it was juice and flavorful. Comes with a delicious crying tiger béarnaise sauce. We paired the whole food experience with an organic orange wine from Los Angeles that was different but really good. It can get a little noisy but that's the vibe. Lively and exciting. Highly recommend for adventurous foodies!
