This place is a hidden gem. I'm from Philly and the flavors of this place was on point! They were legit Cantonese style food. I felt an instant connection when the wait staff started speaking Cantonese to me. .

The food here was amazing! We stayed at the Holiday Inn and came here at least 3 times our whole stay! It was truly delicious and the staff was very friendly. We had the sweet and sour chicken , pan friend noodles and i tried the guava sushi roll and loved it. I totally recommend this place and will be back

Unbelievably fresh. Great rolls, friendly staff, wish this place was in our home town.

View from the table on the outside patio. Love the ambiance!

It was 11 PM Saturday night and we were looking for a late night place to eat, when lo and behold, Kosan was open. On Fridays and Saturdays they are open till 2 AM. Woo hoo! The rest of the week they're open till 12 AM which is still very reasonable. We were staying at the La Concha Renaissance hotel and it was only a three minute walk from there. I can't comment on the interior of the restaurant because we didn't go in. It was a breezy night and we could hear the live music wafting in from the other restaurant across the street commingled with the music that they were playing at this restaurant and the hanging Twinkie lights surrounding the patio were so pretty that we opted to eat outside on the front patio. The calliope of music, lights and breezes made for a really nice ambience. I did however, notice another couple go in and come back out, remarking that it was cold inside. So you might want to bring your jacket if you're going to dine inside. I didn't catch our friendly servers name, but I appreciated her honesty and really liked her because she knew the menu well and suggested things that she thought I would like and told me there were some items that she didn't think I would be happy with. The menu was Quite Extensive and it's mostly Chinese and Japanese but they do also have Vietnamese spring rolls, Hawaiian fried rice, Singapore style noodles with curry and two types of steaks, one being ribeye. Their drink menu is pretty large as well. They have a variety of juices, Coke products, hot and cold teas. They have a full selection of cocktails and wines. As for beers there are Japanese, American, Mexican and Puerto Rican. They actually have desserts, six of them. I won't go into what types, but I did take a picture of the dessert menu. I started with a refreshing, homemade lemonade. It was actually very good. There are no refills on that drink. I'm not sure if they give refills on fountain drinks. We ordered: - Philadelphia roll- eight pieces of very fresh fish with a decent size piece of avocado and cream cheese. Yummy! - Salt and Pepper fried fish- crispy flat slices of well seasoned, deep fried fish, coated with what seemed to be a cornstarch batter and served on a bed of fresh crispy lettuce with caramelized fried onions and hot peppers. We were trying to scoop up the caramelized onion crumbs and realized that the lettuce tasted delicious as it had the flavored oil from the sautéed red peppers and onions. It also came with a little bowl of yummy hot chili paste. (my mouth is watering remembering how just good it all was) -Sweet and Sour chicken, it was decent size portion. It was tasty. - Fried rice- both dishes came with an option of steamed or fried rice. We chose fried rice for two extra dollars. It had bits of egg in there and was actually pretty tasty. I wish we had more people with us so we could've ordered more things. The presentation of their food was really gorgeous like some fancy high end Japanese restaurant. I know this this because I was seeing other orders going by, mostly rolls, and they looked mouthwateringly (is that a word ?) amazing. I almost wanted to ask the other diners if I could take pictures of their food. Everything that we tried was delicious, the service was great and the ambience was really fun. Honestly, I think we might go back again tonight as there are so many different types of food on the menu it's like eating at a different restaurant each time lol. I really enjoyed the ambience of the outdoor patio and I think it would be a great place to take someone. You gotta try this place, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Great food all 8 of us really enjoyed the meal. Even the kids were happy. Very polite staff. Would definitely recommend!

Several sushi rolls that were absolutely incredible!

My parents had eaten here before and said it was really good, so we were excited to see if it lived up to the hype. The restaurant had a lively, bustling atmosphere, with a steady stream of customers dining in and picking up takeout orders. Even though it was busy, the staff kept things moving efficiently. Even for a large order, the wait was only about 30 minutes. They have a separate pickup area for to-go orders, which made the process organized and easy despite how busy they were. We ordered the beef fried rice, house fried rice, churrasco steak, house lo mein, sesame beef, jumbo shrimp, chicken wings, fried pork, pork ramen, and three sushi rolls. The kids in our family chose the Philly Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Red Dragon Roll, and they really enjoyed them. I had originally planned to order a different sushi roll from the menu, but it wasn't available that day. It wasn't a big deal, though, because the rolls we did get were fresh and delicious. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The churrasco steak was my personal favorite--the meat was incredibly tender and already well seasoned on its own. My husband wasn't a fan of the accompanying sauce, but he agreed the steak itself was excellent. We also really enjoyed the fried rice, and the portions were generous. They were also generous with the condiments and included a variety of sauces with our order, which we appreciated. The only thing we missed was chili oil, since it's a condiment we usually expect to have available at Chinese restaurants. If you're staying nearby or looking for a restaurant that offers both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, Tayzan is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a crowd--it seems to be popular for a reason!

The perfect Asian-Boricua fusion! Dishes we tried: (Almost the entire menu) - Okonomiyaki Bacalaito: The most I was excited to try. Japanese style pancake inspired by Puerto Rican cod fritters. Great flavors but the execution could improve. I would have like the 'bacalaito' to be more crispy. - Cabrito Dumpling: Tender goat stew dumpling with Asian spices. It was tasty but be mindful that the 'cabrito' flavors are rich and intense specially in this take. Also the dough was a little thick to my liking. Not light. - Fried Brussels Sprouts: One of my fav!! Crispy, addictive and coated with bold Asian sauces. - Korean Fried Chicken (KFC): Crunchy, sticky and packed with sweet/spicy flavors. Dig in with your fingers for a more enjoyable experience. - Yukhoe Steak Tartare: Another one of the FAV! This dish was outstanding. Tender pieces of steak mixed with an egg yolk to give it the perfect smoothness and richness. Comes with lite rice crackers to pair with but we also other the 'tostones' with garlic and it was a match made in heaven, succulent! - PPP Salad: Perfect for transitioning from appetizers to main course. Composed of cucumber, pomegranate and 'platanutres' very refreshing like a palette cleansing. - Daniel Udon Noodle: Paired with 'longaniza' sausage this time, protein can vary. This dish delivered the best umami flavors. The noodles had great texture. - A la Vietnamita, Chuleta: The 'chuleta' (pork chop) were perfectly cooked, tasty. I fought for the bone piece. Comes with side of lettuce leaves, to make wraps. - Where's the Beef: Grilled picanha steak, we ask for medium, it was juice and flavorful. Comes with a delicious crying tiger béarnaise sauce. Also sticky rice. - Dessert, Service was great. Our server was friendly and very helpful. He gave us amazing recommendations. We paired the whole food experience with an organic orange wine from Los Angeles that was different but really good. It can get a little noisy but that's the vibe. Lively and exciting. Highly recommend for adventurous foodies!
