I now believe the hype about Puerto Rican Chinese food! We came to this restaurant near our resort that I found on TikTok. The ambiance is great. The food came out hot and fresh And in a timely manner. The service was great and the food was delicious. I started off with the crab tostones. Then I got the orange chicken with a side of mofongo. My friend enjoyed their pepper steak very much that she talked about coming back the entire trip for some more food. That's safe to say we'd gladly be repeat customers.
This is a good option if you're craving Asian fusion in San Juan. Free parking for one hour. Very touristy and can be crowded, maybe 0-10 min wait depending on your party's size. The orange chicken was very good, and definitely worth ordering. On a breezy night, grab a table outside--probably one of the best places in Condado for people-watching while you enjoy your meal. Good food, lively atmosphere. Only issue is that our server wasn't very customer friendly. He did his job, but lacked the presence I'm used to experiencing.
We placed a large takeout order from Tayzan after seeing the long line outside and all the great reviews. Since it was just a short walk from our hotel, we decided to give it a try. My parents had eaten here before and said it was really good, so we were excited to see if it lived up to the hype. The restaurant had a lively, bustling atmosphere, with a steady stream of customers dining in and picking up takeout orders. Even though it was busy, the staff kept things moving efficiently. Even for a large order, the wait was only about 30 minutes. They have a separate pickup area for to-go orders, which made the process organized and easy despite how busy they were. We ordered the beef fried rice, house fried rice, churrasco steak, house lo mein, sesame beef, jumbo shrimp, chicken wings, fried pork, pork ramen, and three sushi rolls. The kids in our family chose the Philly Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Red Dragon Roll, and they really enjoyed them. I had originally planned to order a different sushi roll from the menu, but it wasn't available that day. It wasn't a big deal, though, because the rolls we did get were fresh and delicious. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The churrasco steak was my personal favorite--the meat was incredibly tender and already well seasoned on its own. My husband wasn't a fan of the accompanying sauce, but he agreed the steak itself was excellent. We also really enjoyed the fried rice, and the portions were generous. They were also generous with the condiments and included a variety of sauces with our order, which we appreciated. The only thing we missed was chili oil, since it's a condiment we usually expect to have available at Chinese restaurants. If you're staying nearby or looking for a restaurant that offers both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, Tayzan is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a crowd--it seems to be popular for a reason!

Parking is a bit of a downside since there isn't much available, so I had to pay for parking. Once inside, though, everything moved incredibly fast. I got my food in less than 10 minutes, which is probably the fastest I've ever been served at a restaurant. It almost made me question how fresh it was, but after eating, I can say it was actually very good. I ordered the grilled white fish with lemon and egg fried rice with yum yum sauce on the side, plus shrimp tempura sushi to go. The yum yum sauce tasted like a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise, but when I mixed it with the fried rice, it was really, really good. The fish itself was tasty but needed more salt I ended up adding salt and squeezing lime over it to bring out the flavor. It seemed like it was only seasoned during marination and not finished properly. The salad wasn't anything special, but overall, for how quickly the food came out, the quality was impressive. Portions are generous, and the pricing matches what you get. We came around midnight and left close to 1 AM when they were closing. The place looked packed, but service was still quick and efficient. Our server was okay--nothing standout, but no issues either. Overall, I'd come back. Fast service, solid food, and a good late-night option.
We love Chinese/Japanese cuisine, so wanted to give this place a try! The restaurant was busy, so that's a good sign. We were given a choice of inside or outside seating and were quickly sat. Our server was friendly and helpful. We chose to go with the chicken lo mein, the California rolls, the white Fish, Andre, and the Churrasco. One thing I must say, the question size is here awesome! The churrasco was a 12 ounce that was actually a 12 ounce. And the piece of white fish was pretty sizable too. Also, my family of four equally shared the chicken with a good amount left over. When we left, nobody was hungry and everything tasted great. The restaurant was moderately noisy, but still easy to hear.

Impressed that they do both Japanese and Chinese food so well. This place has better sushi than dedicated sushi restaurants. If I lived nearby this would be my go to. Crave worthy and I wanna come back already. Grilled eel with avocado, 5/5: idk what sauce they drizzled on top but one of my favorite sushi rolls I've ever eaten. Get this! Salmon with avocado, 4/5: very simple and delicious. Garlic sauce chicken with fried rice, 5/5! So delicious. Just barely sweet but umami. Love that there's plenty of veggies! The portions are huge. You choose white rice or fried rice, they asked if I wanted brown, but brown means fried rice. Stir fry udon with chicken and veggies, 5/5: the sauce sticks to the noodles so well. Udon is soft and the sauce is really good. I think garlic sauce is better but you can't go wrong with either option. As expected, the place is pretty loud. The cleanup is loud with the utensils clashing around when you're eating. Not a problem for me, since I care more about food and the place was clean.
Their food was good and big portion, you can share with another. There was a wait but the line move quickly. I gave a 4 cos of their parking situation. They have a parking space but hard to find, it right behind their restaurant (across from the pharmacy). But they only validate for 1 hour, I guess that's how they can turn over table so quickly.
Tayzan is located in the heart of San Juan on the strip. I stopped in for dinner and drinks with friends, and we had a great experience there. We started off with sushi and we were quite impressed with the selections. We chose one hot and one cold. This was my first time having hot sushi, and I must say I was impressed by the temperature, texture and taste! Service was great and the overall feel of the restaurant was good.

The restaurant was super clean Not a lot of English spoken by the staff so not a ton of interaction with my server. I was very happy with my experience overall.
Delicious food, prompt service. The crab meso soup was good, but I was expecting real crab meat instead of imitation crabby. Was a little disappointed by that. It also would have been great if they had either shredded or chopped the imitation crab meat to make it a little bit easier to eat with the soup spoon. The Tayzan mango roll was very good. Cream cheese and imitation crab meat topped with slices of sweet mango. What's not to love? The Crab Rangoons (which they call mariposas or "butterflies) were delicious. Piping hot and easily some of the biggest ones I've ever had. Be careful when you first bite into them because They arrive fresh out of the grease and that cream cheese is scalding hot! The sushi rolls are a bit pricey, but It's still a great place to satisfy a late night craving for sushi. On the weekends they close at 3:00 a.m. That was so clutch after a long night of drinking and dancing in Santurce.
FUN spot for a HUGE menu of asian/puertorican food options! Tayzan has a lively atmosphere anytime and anyday of the week and colorful ambiance. The Tostones are a MUST order - so garlicy with a nice fry absolutely delicious. The white fish ceviche and orgasmo roll are also both solid options - not the best ive ever had but still pretty good. We also had the shrimp and lobster sauce mofungo which was delicious. I loved the mofungo - nice and salty and a soft smooth texture! It paired really well with the shrimp and lobster gravy that had fantastic flavor!
The Chinese foods here are good. The Lo Mein was very delicious. Plenty of seating was available and we walked in. It was a clean place with decent ambience.' The sushi rolls left a lot to be desired for - the one with the beef in it wasn't quite good. We only ate a piece of it. The crab Rangoons were decent - nothing to write home about. The service could have been better - even with such few people in the restaurant we were waiting many times for service, water, cheque etc.

Heard a great things about this place so I had to come try arrived at 3 AM because Yelp said they closed at 4 AM to my surprise we get there and they actually closed at 3 AM. I don't know if it was the owner or manager, but I had a great conversation with him which led to him asking will I accept anything that's left over in the kitchen since I was so hungry next thing you know he came out with three large bags filled with a variety of food. I gave him some money for it and told him I will be back tomorrow to try the sushi... The food I received was amazing, especially considering it was leftover scraps lol I did come back and try the sushi I consider myself a sushi connoisseur and let me tell you it was some of the best sushi I've had in my life! I will be back several times The inside was very spacious lots of tables inside and out live atmosphere all the staff went above and beyond, especially when the kitchen closed while we were inside eating and I wanted to order another roll to go haha read more
Tayzan had fantastic ratings, and we love Asian food, so we had to try it. Overall disappointing on all fronts. Food: Very good vegetable soup and decent vegetable egg rolls. But the Singapore noodles were pathetic. The recipe was anything but traditional for Singapore noodles. The meats were very low quality and the flavors were all off. Also, all of our dishes were served simultaneously- no spacing of the appetizer and main dish. The temperature of everything had cooled somewhat. All dishes were warm and not hot. This place is quite a large restaurant. It can get packed, occasionally you will see a line to get in. The place does not have enough servers. Service: can be quite slow because they have too many tables compared to employees working. The servers also will get confused and bring the wrong order so be prepared to send food back. The food was also delivered all at once. We ordered soup, appetizer, and main. They should have staggered it to keep the dishes hot. Food: ordered the veggie soup. It was $10 for a small portion but the soup was very tasty. The veggies were crisp. It was served tepid so I think it sat on the counter. We ordered veggie spring rolls, they were crunchy, pipping hot, and full of veggies very good. The dipping sauce complimented well. Now the Singapore noodles were beef, chicken, shrimp, and egg. It had quite a lot of shrimp. The beef and chicken were inedible. The velvetize of the beef made it rubbery and the they don't have good knife skills because the beef was a big chunk and it was undercooked in some spots and the texture was just again inedible. The chicken also had wrong texture from being velvetized. Very greasy sturdy noodles. The appetizers and soup are delicious, bit overpriced. While the Singapore noodles were generous portion- can split between 2 people, we did not eat the entire dish due to the textures and overly greasy. read more

Conviently located on Ashford Ave, I stopped by Tayzan for a late dinner one night as not many other places were open. The food was a little expensive in my opinion for the quantity received, especially relative to other nearby restaurants in San Juan. To go orders are placed at the bar in the back, and I got the sizzling chicken to go with egg fried rice. Service was curt, but I did receive my food in about 10 minutes of ordering it, and ate it within 10 minutes of receiving it. The veggies were fresh but did not have any texture, and the chicken was covered in the teppanyaki sauce. The egg fried rice was satisfactory. Overall, this tasted like your average Chinese takeout spot. I would try another restaurant if you're looking for standout Chinese food! read more
This place was sooo tasty i was drooling looking at the menu. It was so hard to choose an option but i went with mongolian beef with tostones and a shrimp fried rice. My friends ordered the churrasco steak with tostones too and man everything was cooked to perfection. The beef was so saucy and flavorful as well as the churrasco. The tostones were perfectly fried and so garlicky it felt like the perfect meal! The service was also exceptional the server was attentive and even cracked some jokes with us. Now this place is always busy why because the food is good. As any traveler i did my research and wanted to try this spot. Great reviews and convenience of being right around the corner from Condado Beach. Food is pricey but very very tasty. The flavor profiles in the food are outstanding. Inside and outdoor seating which Is great on cool nights. read more

Tayzan Restaurant was excellent! The Chinese food was spot on, fresh and full of flavor. Service was great, we were seated quickly, and they're open late (until 2:00 AM), which is a huge plus. Definitely recommend! read more

Wish we could've ordered more but we weren't hungry enough to finish all these portions lol. Everything was AMAZING coming from an Asian who grew up in the Bay Area with some of the best Chinese food in the country. It was cool meeting Chinese folks who spoke fluent Spanish, with Boricuan accents!! It's crazy how diverse the Caribbean is, but we love it!!! Their menu is super overwhelming, I literally wish I could try everything. It also gets packed as it's in a busy area but so worth it if you have to wait. Luckily, we walked right in. If you're coming from the beach they want you to cover up BTW. I don't think anything you order from here will be bad, everything smells wonderful and they have a full bar too. We loved the flavor of everything and it's cool to see Chinese and Puerto Rican fusion. Next time I'll have to come back for sure! 10/10 some of the best food I've had on my first visit read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. GET CHINESE FOOD FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE. Came with a group of nine from different culture backgrounds, and unfortunately the service was a mess from the start. Our server got visibly angry when my friend asked him to repeat an answer to a menu question. The servers response was hard to understand and when asked to repeat himself he actually yelled at my friend in front of the table, snatched the menu out of his hand, and threw it onto a chair behind him. Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable for everyone. We should've left after this, but didn't because we were hungry. Only half the table was asked for drink orders, and the rest of us were given water. I flagged our server down to order a martini that never came, yet they still tried to charge me for it at the end. We waited an hour for our food and it came out at very different times (also not hot), so we weren't able to eat together. The soups were inconsistent. The miso crab soup and the regular miso were prepared differently and both lacked ingredients. We thought it was odd that the miso crab soup had noodles while the regular miso didn't. Honestly felt like a way to make up for the lack of actual crab in it. The sushi itself was disappointing, overall just subpar. I ordered the bento box and wasn't expecting fried salmon (I've never seen it prepared that way), and my food came out last after everyone else had already finished eating. Everything was bland and lacked flavor. This place clearly can't handle parties larger than four otherwise you will be cramped in a corner, and you can only split checks into a maximum of three payments, which no one told us upfront. To top it off, the server still had the audacity to ask for a tip. I had no problem telling him no and stated that we were unsatisfied with both the service and the meal. Coming from someone who works in hospitality, if I had been dining alone and not with eight other people, I would have walked out. That's how bad the experience was. Overall, not a great time and wouldn't recommend this as a restaurant to eat at. Matter of fact, try out Zhencha Boba Cafe for a better Chinese cuisine. I had it on my last trip to PR and went with a group of 6. That place didn't disappoint at all and the service was amazing. Everyone I was with spoke fluent Spanish and I'm still learning, the server was very patient. read more
I saw this recommended on TikTok and this place definitely stays busy, but we were seated immediately for lunch. I ordered the Gyoza as an appetizer and it was okay, nothing special 6/10. I also ordered the Tayzan Guava Roll and Orgasmo Roll, both were really good and tasted pretty similar. My only complaint was the Tayzan roll had too much guava sauce on top, but I'd rather them both a solid 8.5/10. I would've loved to try their Chinese food, because it looked so good. This is the touristy sode of town so things will be more expensive. The good portions are big and also have so much flavor. This place is really good to try I loved the orange chicken and the boneless short ribs. The rice was also amazing. Would come back here again. read more
As far as the ambiance, it is in def need of repair. It is not appealing looking at the ceilings in disrepair and some areas of the restaurant need fixed. The food is good, nothing special from what you're used to eating at other Chinese spots. If you are in a large group make sure everyone in the group is there or they won't seat you. read more

I found this place on Yelp and Instagram story. They are opened pretty late (2am). That's another reason why I wanted to eat here after landing almost at midnight. So many options from Chinese or Japanese food (sushi and bento boxes). Back in ct we have crap Chinese food that doesn't even taste good. The friend rice was prob my favorite and full of flavor! The sweet and sour chicken still has a crisp to it after the sauce was poured onto it. That's a plus, I was worried it would have been soggy, but it wasn't. The tostonas was amazing, they have some garlic taste to it and when you dip it into the ketchup mayo sauce, that took it up a notch. The ramen was mid, the broth tastes like basic miso soup. I felt like they threw in the noodles and toppings into the broth. I would def skip out on the eggrolls that has no flavor and full of cabbage. One egg roll didn't even have a shrimp in it. It's hit or miss. Overall, I def would come back again! Try the sushi menu and write another review. read more

Always wanted to try the Chinese food in Puerto Rico and I'm glad I did! It did not disappoint. Ample space in the restaurant including some outdoor dining. It looked crowded but I was able to get a table pretty quick. The servers were not as welcoming but they were quick with getting our orders. However, after we placed our orders, they never come back to check on us. I needed water and had to get up and ask for it. Despite all of that, the food was very delicious. It's better than the Chinese food on the mainland. The Chinese food is not oily at all. It's cooked as dry as it can be and it still has a lot of flavor. We also got sushi (not pictured) and the sushi was great quality. The rice was soft and everything else was fresh. Highly recommend! read more

Great location on the strip and definitely something different to try. It seems very popular with the locals. Very dated decor with inside outside seating. The menu is endless, the staff were friendly and attentive. The Sapporo was very cold and refreshing. The Miso Soup was warm and tasty. After many days in Puerto Rico, eating the local flavors, we decided to mix things up and go for Asian food. The menu had both sushi and Chinese food on it and some with a slight Puerto Rican influence. We ordered a roll that had spicy crab, skirt steak/churrasco and plantains. This was the highlight of the meal. Highly recommend it. We another with spicy crab and shrimp. It was typical. Good but not outstanding in any way. And the entree we shared was sizzling churrasco with vegetables. It tasted like a steak and veggies. Decent but not outstanding like we had hoped. The ambience was lively and the decor nice as well. And we had very good service. Glad we stopped in for something different but not a must go to place. But if you do, get that roll I mentioned. read more
I saw place online while researching different places to eat in the area and it was not far from my hotel. Great food! Their menu is extensive. Tons of options and the portions are generous. I tried a salmon tempura roll , chicken fried rice, and house lo mein which included shrimp, steak, and chicken plus veggies. Our total came to about $60. Food is definitely sharable in my opinion as portions are large. My fave was the chicken fried rice and I would've been fine with that alone so think about it before ordering. We were immediately seated. If you're someone who likes to read through the menu, please do I beforehand. While the food was great, server seemed a bit rushed.
