This was the sleeper hit of our trip!!!…read more
It was tough to convince my wife that our last dinner in PR would be Chinese/Japanese, but our hotel (El Caribe) had no good options and no one was willing to drive towards Old San Juan. Ikura was walking distance, just past 787 Coffee.
The Yelp reviews were very positive and with good reason! The owners, possibly a husband wife, were very accommodating and worked together to ensure efficienct service.
The menu had a mix of classic American-Chinese offerings (kung pao chicken, orange chicken), but also typical Japanese faire (sushi/sashimi, bento boxes, and udon noodles).
My wife loved her hot and sour soup and kung pao chicken, while I love my bento box with fried rice, 4 piece California roll, salad, and pepper beef.
We saw other guests who ate sushi and it looked really good.
If you tire of lechon asado, mofongo, and all manner of fried appetizers, this is a great option!
