For our first night in Puerto Rico, we had dinner at Kumo to take in the beautiful views of the ocean. We loved the unique Japanese Peruvian fusion that their menu offered. Our waitress was attentive, and we appreciated her recommendation to add on more toast with our burrata appetizer so that everyone could enjoy. The food and drinks were all great! They had a WiFi issue with their POS system at the end, and even though we got a notification that we were charged, they said it wasn't received on their end. We ended up having to charge a different card again, but Nelson, the manager, made us feel better and made sure the phone number was written down so that they could reverse the charge if it comes through again. Overall a great vibe and nice way to kick off our vacation.
We booked a 5pm dinner at Kumo Rooftop on a windy day, and worried that it might be too gusty to enjoy a leisurely meal. No problem, it turned out -- we had a table on the West (leeward) side, and the wind was no issue, even at that elevation. So let's move on to the service, food, and drink. Our server was excellent - informative, describing details of menu items, and being sufficiently available without being a bother. Then the drinks! I ended up have two different cocktails; both were well thought out and assembled (the "Inti" and the "Rey Choro"). We had an appetizer of the dumplings of the day, filled with a pork-shrimp mix and with a great sauce. My entree was a Peruvian noodle dish with seafood, also excellent. I washed it down with a Japanese IPA that was blended with matcha green tea! A great way to close out the last day of our Puerto Rico trip.
Kumo nails it when it comes to vibe, service, and presentation. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the water, making it a lovely spot to unwind. The service was excellent -- attentive and friendly from start to finish. We ordered the sesame-glazed duck waffles, which were flavorful and well-prepared, but like the rest of the menu, the portion was very small. The sliders, while tasty, were shockingly tiny -- about the size of Oreo cookies -- which felt a bit odd for a main dish. We also had two cocktails: the Flor de Lima and the Rey Choro. Both were well-made and refreshing. Overall, the food and drinks were good, and the experience was pleasant. But considering the portion sizes, it's hard to say the price matches the value. Worth checking out for the ambiance and service, but just know you may leave a little hungry.
KUMO in Puerto Rico definitely delivers when it comes to ambiance--the space is beautifully designed with a breezy, tropical aesthetic that gives off Tulum vibes. With views overlooking the ocean, it's the kind of spot you want to fall in love with. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite match the setting. #1: Flame burrata: this was easily the weakest dish of the day. The flavor of the cheese was nearly nonexistent--1/5. #2: Yasai and tofu: The tofu had a nice balance between soft and crisp textures and was seasoned well. The Brussels sprouts had a solid crunch and were nicely cooked. I'd give it a 3.7/5. #3: Tofu sudao, which came labeled as "spicy," was a bit of a letdown. It was a tomato-based curry that hinted at South Indian flavors but didn't quite commit. It lacked depth and any type of heat, and the tofu was too soft to absorb the sauce in any meaningful way which ended up making it taste bland; 3/5. #4: Sides - edamame, which turned out to be one of the more enjoyable bites--simple but well-seasoned and full of flavor, 4/5. #5: Kumo Salad with tofu was pretty good with my favorite part being the surprise taste of the cashews that added a good crunch. 3.8/4. Overall, KUMO is a place with serious visual appeal, and the atmosphere makes it a great choice for a sunset drink or casual hangout. But if you're coming primarily for the food, it might not live up to the setting--at least not yet. 3 stars for now, with room to grow if the kitchen can match the energy of the space.
Four drinks I tried are good, but Bloody Mary's was terrible. Service is the worse. Took me over 30 mins to get a waitress to come give me a menu at the pool. Then another 30 to get the drinks and another 30 to get the bill. The coffee machine broke at both restaurants. The food was decent. Dont come eat here until they get their shit right
What a great meal! From the ambiance, service, and food, it was a great experience. It is at the top of the Aire Hotel which was conveniently right next door to our condo rental. Every seat has a beautiful view of Isla Verde beach and ocean. The ambiance is very classy. The service was impeccable and no complaints. We ordered 3 small plates and their Robatiyaki (Japanese Skewers). For appetizers, we ordered the house made dumplings which were pork and shrimp. Delicious to the point I wanted to order a second. We also got the Kumo sliders which were wagyu beef. They were good but the beef was way over cooked. We then ordered the King Pegao (salmon tartare over crispy rice). The rice was a bit over cooked as well compared to other crispy rice I have had but the flavor profile was spot on. And lastly, we ordered the Branzino skewer that was flavored and grilled to perfection. The fish and skin melted in your mouth. By far my favorites were the skewer and the dumplings. The mocktails and cocktails were also good!
Your meal starts with a nice cocktail list and an excellent view. The menu is not large but items are selected to pair well together. The cuisine is Peruvian-Japanese. I have no idea how well it matches up to that standard , as I have never heard of this before. However I am glad I have now. Loved the mushroom skewers and the kumo salad (burrata made an excellent salad topper). The sudao was not as spicy as the menu implied but still good. All the dishes seemed thoughtful and well-prepared. My partner raved about her prawn. We had two excellent servers though the kitchen was a little slower than it seemed that it should be based on the house.
Breakfast and dinner was equally amazing. The views of the ocean during the day and the magic of the lights was beyond our expectations. Service was more personal at the evening time but we were also celebrating and they were packed with reservations needed so to that's all to be expected. Breakfast: Two eggs scrambled hard, cheddar Plain coffee **Breakfast potatoes w/parm!!!! Croissant buttered with blue berry jam Dinner: Pork belly w/broccolini Kumo salad Chicken Robata **Mocha desert!!
Amazing food. Amazing views no matter where you sit. Staff was so so friendly. We came here for breakfast and it was fairly empty. Our food took a little long but our waiter was very attentive and keeping us updated and regardless we weren't in a rush anyway. And then he gave us a free coffee as a thank you for being so patient . Great place all around!! Will def be coming back next time in PR again
Beautiful restaurant, very sexy and romantic. We were a party of 7 and we had a nice time because the food was Fuego The food was delicious from the appetizers to the entrees!! The duck was soooo good and cooked to perfection. The service was okay, could of been better for the type restaurant the present themselves to be. Our waitress was standoffish; made sense once we got the check though because the tip was included in the check, a nice tip too! I would definitely return because of the food when I'm in the area again, the food is worth it. Only giving it 3 stars because of the service.
This was one of the most delicious meals we had on our trip in PR. Everything was so yummy, the vibe inside was so nice, it was dim and inviting. The restaurant is inside a hotel, all around is very clean, staff was friendly and best part, they took our large reservation group pretty late! HA! The food was SO fresh!!! We had amazing quick service for our large group of 9. Drinks were good, food all came out in an absolute perfectly timely manner. We unfortunately were way too stuffed for dessert but I know even that would have been amazing. Definitely check this place out!!
This place is top notch! From the decor to the incredible staff, the drink selections and quality of food, all amazing! The bartenders were excellently trained and knew how to put on a show. The food was flavorful and inventive. The views were stunning! There was so much to love about this place and its close to the airport. Whether you're just getting into town or leaving, this is a place to hit! read more

Just arriving into Puerto Rico, this was the first stop on our food tour, and it did not disappoint! From the food, the drinks, the customer service, this restaurant got 5 stars! The restaurant is located on its hotel rooftop. It is open air so you feel the breeze while you dine. Bring a jacket or a shawl, because it can get a little chilly. Top faves that we ordered were the dumplings and the salmon tartare. Both were delicious and flavorful. The sauce in the dumplings was top tier. Make sure you order both of these. The branzino as charred so it was a surprise, so it was a little dry but still had flavor. The Waygu burgers didn't not have the best reputation however we ordered them anyway and they were on par with the other reviews. I had a custom cocktail, a tequila spin on amaretto sour, which was both delicious and a bit nostalgic. We also ordered the "Sennin", which was a bit overpowered by the peppercorn. Overall, I still rate this experience with 5 stars. Definitely visit ( and I recommend making reservations) while you are in Carolína and San Juan. read more

Very good food, lovely spot overlooking the ocean, delightful cocktails, great service. My only complaint is the price/value for the dishes and the fact the "wagu" was absolutely not wagu. It's was an ok strip steak at best. The star of the evening was the dumplings! Do not miss these!!! read more

Kumo is definitely the restaurant to be at if you want beautiful views of the ocean. It has a great, cozy atmosphere great for an intimate dinner or a birthday dinner for the flicks. As amazing as the vibes are here, the food wasn't as impressive. The appetizers were pretty good. I highly recommend the king pegao and the brussle sprouts. The prawn skewers were a bit difficult to eat, as I literally could not find to skewer. We chose the pork belly as our main, but that lacked flavor and was pretty disappointing. Our waiter was also pretty rude, and her energy was very off. For all of this, I'm giving Kumo a 3. read more

Enter the building and take the elevator up to the roof. As soon as you enter you are welcomed by the music and awesome vibe. The staff were all so helpful and made great recommendations. Cool cocktails and a wine list. We started with the pork dumplings and then ordered a bunch of small plates to share. The Bronzino was a good size portion for 4 to share. The chicken was a full spatchcocked chicken. The Brussels spouts were also very popular at our table. We ended the meal with espresso martinis. They were delish! read more

Dinner with a view! Beautiful rooftop restaurant inside Aire de O:live Hotel. I advise to reserve a table near sunset time with a nice beach view, there is a perfect one at the back corner of the place. Great ambience with nice breeze and excellent service. The food is outstanding!! Everything we tried was perfectly made and beautifully plated. The menu is designed to share so I suggest you order a bunch of different things so you can try. We had the King Pegao, Salmon Okonomiyaki, Palta Hamachi Tartare, Shishito peppers, Chef Dumplings (shrimp and pork mix) and Branzino a la Robata. Everything was delicious but the dumplings and the branzino were the BEST of the night. Next time I'm trying the rice (duck chaufa), our server recommended it. They also have amazing cocktails and mocktails. read more

Absolutely stunning view, great customer service and food. I wanted one of everything on the menu, but ended up going with the king pegao, sudao, and anticuhco plate. Both of these were some of the best plates we have ever had. Was super happy this was a place we went on our trip and definitely recommend it for anyone. Great food for the prices as well, feels upscale without obscene prices. Also recommend getting reservations as it does fill fast for dinner. read more

We've been here TWICE: for dinner 02/11/26 & brunch today 02/14/26. First, the food & drinks are amazing: chef's choice dumplings, grilled octopus, grilled branzino, grilled pumpkin, pear budin dessert, & AWESOME mojitos for dinner. Today, I had an iced latte w/ oat milk, elder pea spritzer & black sesame waffles w/ DUCK CONFIT: OH, MY. Service at both dinner & brunch was great: friendly bartenders who make GREAT cocktails. Finally, what can I say about the ambiance? I mean: how can you beat great food w/ great service & a great view‽ read more

Great view of the city from any of the tables on the rooftop, bar seating is also available. Service was very friendly and responsive. We had the octopus ceviche, salmon & crispy rice, pork belly and beef dishes, all very well prepared & delicious! Cocktails are also very tasty. Would definitely come again! read more

Went here for my friend's mother's birthday dinner, and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. This place is advertised as an upscale establishment, but it's far from it. First off, they charge a $25 cake fee and that will be important later. Our server was rude, inattentive, and barely checked on us. We constantly had to go looking for her just to get drinks, the cake, or even the bill. We put in our food order quickly because the kitchen was closing soon, but she never came back for our drink orders. The young man running the food was kind, but we actually had to ask him to get our server so we could finally order drinks. Our food arrived before we even had beverages ordered. Then came the cake situation -- an absolute mess. The server brought it out still in the plastic container and struggled to open it at the table. When she tried to light the sparkler, she placed it right under a low-hanging lamp, and I had to stop her before it became a fire hazard. They didn't sing, didn't present the cake nicely... nothing. So I'm really confused what that $25 "cake fee" was for, because we could've just kept it at the table ourselves. Other issues: No air conditioning -- it was hot and uncomfortable. Parking is $20 this is not advertised You have to walk up two sets of stairs just to reach the elevator (definitely not ideal if you're dressed up or in heels). Portion sizes are small for the prices. And worst of all, there was a couple being completely inappropriate the man literally had his hands up his date's dress fingering her and aggressively kissing and staff said nothing, just laughed about it. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Definitely not the "upscale" experience they claim to offer. read more

Great area for a pool/beach day. Spent a couple of hours just hanging by the pool on the second floor and enjoyed some drinks and food. Service was good and food was great as well. The pool is also heated which a plus and very enjoyable. Check out my images for the food and drinks! read more
***Visited December 2023*** -Great view- ocean surrounds you. -food is a little expensive but worth it *hamachi tartare- FANTASTIC. They're served with little crispy rice cakes to dip them in. *wagyu Sliders - just order this- they're the kind of tasty that makes your mouth water and steal the second slider from your significant other *branzino skewer- wasn't as crispy as I hoped but I was being held up talking to a bar guest who couldn't read the room when my food arrived. Flavor was good *beef skewer- great seasoning- not as tender as i would have hoped. *salmon with ponzu - flavor and aroma was good- needed more salt but nonetheless great. Service- Louis (Lewis?) and Gabriel are awesome- the review for them was 5 stars easy, knowledgeable bartenders that enjoy their craft. Extremely professional but read the vibes of the room and both made effort to not only give us frequent service but even come over to make conversation with us & we had some amazing connections hundreds of miles away from our hometowns. Hostesses did not smile or greet us. Told us the bar had coffee and to order on the side and they did not. Also told us the bar was full when there were seats? I felt a little awkward about that. Beach server- Gigi was fantastic. Amazing attitude and very kind. We were at the beach several days and she ran into us in the elevator and asked how our stay was. Went the extra mile to make sure our stay was better. Honestly she made the experience much better. One star down because (out of the almost $1,000 we've collectively spent at Kumo) I ordered a $85 steak Medium rare. Came out Medium well. Asked if they could make a new one. Staff was accommodating but the Chef said no because the innermost piece is medium rare. Fine but not really fine lol. read more

Alex and Kenneth are the stars of the show at the bar!! They have perfected their craft in making martinis and meetings any/all expectations of the customer! The food was phenomenal and the drinks that Alex made just complimented every bite!! The ambiance is vibrant and the fresh breeze from the ocean is amazing! My only recommendation would be to play more local artists. I flew here for the RAUW Alejandro concert and would prefer to hear reggaeton instead of house music. I think it's important to recognize that there are still people coming to the island to enjoy the culture and music! Cheers to Alex and Kenneth for an amazing experience! I will definitely be back on my next trip in August for the bad bunny concert. read more
Our last night in PR and we wanted to try something different, fun and hopefully catch the sunset at this roof top restaurant. There were plenty of outdoor tables and some had lounge seating which was unusual. The city lights were twinkling as the sunset occurred. A slight breeze was welcoming for us patrons. Normally a reservation is recommended however we were able to get an open slot without reservations. 4 Stars - Staff. Our server was friendly, professional and easy to talk with. She made some recommendations on the food options. After the items were ordered we waited for at least 15-20 minutes for the appetizers (Sakana (Small Dishes)). Then another 30 minutes for the Main Dishes (Robatta Kanji (Main). Due to open concept kitchen and the limited space, the chefs were busy and efficient cooking and plating the dishes. We weren't bothered as much as other patrons because we were enjoying the experience and our libations. The eating establishment is considered an Asian Fusion restaurant. They use local ingredients and infuse the items with a Japanese and Caribbean twist, so don't expect normal noodles or rice dishes. You need to expand your palate and you won't be disappointed. Food: 3.75 -4.5 Stars We ordered three small dishes (Sakana). 4 Stars - Kumo Sliders (2 qty). The Wagyu Sliders had caramelized onions, house kewpie mayo and arugula. They were juicy and meaty. The Argula lettuce has a peppery taste and onions were sweet. 3.75 Stars - Salmon Okonomiyaki House smoked salmon over a whole wheat tortilla with spicy mayo, feta cheese, black sesame seed, truffle oil, honey and micro cilantro. - the thinly sliced salmon was presently beautifully on the plate and the truffle oil and honey danced on your taste buds. The micro cilantro has a slight lemony taste so if you don't like cilantro avoid this dish. 4.5 Stars - Kumo Salad Arugula, orange segment, candied cashews, carrot zuma, feta cheese, with yuzu vinaigrette. The salad was refreshing, had a peppery taste, crunchy from the cashews and the Yuzu dressing was light, slightly sweet and tartly. My wife would have eaten the bowls of it. 3.75 Stars - One skewer (Robatiyaki) - I ordered the grilled shrimp skewer. It consist on One skewer with two large whole shrimps on it. Yakitori Prawns Gremolata and char lemon slice. The shrimp were tender, juicy and had a slight lemon taste to it. It would have had a higher rating if they presented TWO skewers instead of One for the price you pay. 3.75 Stars - one Main (Robatta Kanji) dish. Korobuta Pork Belly Sauteed garlic broccolini, black pig pork belly in pork glaze. The side was pan seared Broccolini w stems. The pork belly was charred then pan seared and glazed with the sauce. It was tendered, had a slight Umami taste w a hint of soy sauce. The broccolini needed to be cooked for another 2-3 minutes. The steams were undercooked but the head was Al dente'. Ambiance was nice but the music was a little bit too loud when having a conversation. Love the Puerto Rican / Caribbean Disco Genre but I couldn't concentrate with the conversation. My head kept "bobbing" to the music. We both laugh cuz' we caught each other doing it. Would we come back? Yes, to try other food items. If you are starving you might want to order their skirt Steak layered Ají panca cream and pickled onions. Also add a side too. All items are a la carte. read more

One of our favorite parts of our Puerto Rico trip! This review will be a conglomerate of our multiple visits so pictures are a little out of order. That's how good Kumo Rooftop is!! The staff is very friendly and we were met with smiles by everyone. The views are unmatched and something you have to experience for yourself. The food and drinks are to die for! Hands down, that Picanha Wagyu is the best steak I have ever put in my mouth. Cooked to a perfect medium, it was incredibly tender and seasoned just right. We rotated through their side options as we kept coming back and everything paired perfectly with the beef. The Chef's Choice Dumplings also change depending on the day. We ended up trying an order of the dumplings with beef and they were incredible. The sauce is what dreams are made of! The bartenders also blow it out of the park. Every drink I had was super refreshing and mixed well. They carry a very extensive list of wines, sake, beer, cocktails, and mocktails! I cannot say enough good things. If there is one place you should do date night in Puerto Rico, it's this one. read more

We did make a reservation to make sure we could get seating. There's a great ocean view. There is also bar seats. We enjoyed the food. It was very filling and tasty. read more
