Five stars for dinner: A great meal! The view is fabulous, looking through tall glass windows out onto the ocean. There are also outside tables. The gem salad was outstanding, and the pepperoni pizza, too. Service was polite and attentive. Two stars for breakfast: very slow and disorganized two days in a row. The hostesses were polite but overwhelmed and disorganized. It appears they were using a combination of paper receipts and a smart pad to add people in the very long line to the waiting list. It seemed like there were two waiting lists. People who were behind me in line were seated before me although I stated no preference regarding an inside or outside table, just first available. I had a more than 30 minute wait despite there being nearly a dozen empty tables. About half of these tables were set and the rest waiting to be bused. People were told they would receive a telephone call when their name came to the top of this list. It appeared that some tables were held for a very long time before the people showed up. It's not an efficient system. Service was courteous but very slow. It was another half-hour after being seated before my food arrived. So, it was more than an hour after I got into line before I came begin eating. My order the first morning was also gotten wrong. I asked for eggs over-easy. we were staying at vanderbilt for 2 days, so we grabbed breakfast here. first day, we tried the buffet. options were pretty mid, a little below what you'd expect at a buffet. service was very slow. our waiter was sweet, but he barely checked in on us and we had to ask for him through another waiter a few times. second day, we did à la carte which was great (highly recommend the french toast and egg white frittata). service again was not the best. we asked for an iced vanilla latte, the server brought a normal latte. it took us 15 mins to flag him down to let him know and he said he forgot to note vanilla down. he went back and came and told us they don't have vanilla so offered me some other syrups. super disappointing in the overall experience considering some of the à la carte food options are great, it's a decent hotel, and the ambiance of the area is nice and bright - right by the beach. read more

My husband and I had the breakfast buffet (included in our hotel reservation at the Conando Vanderbilt Hotel - shoutout to Amex Plat perks). We started with 3 short ribs sliders with kimchi flavor and chicken breast with yuca, escabeche, and chicken jus. Everything about this experience was wonderful. You step into this hotel and are greeted like royalty. The beautiful pools, outdoor dining area, and poolside bar all overlook the sea. Egg whites frittata (5/5) should really be called salmon egg white's frittata. Decent portion of salmon. Ordered twice, first time way too salty, turns out the second cook does great. Smoked salmon Benedict (3/5) way too salty, same cook with the salty egg white frittata. Coconut lassi (5.5/5) excellent! Must try! A little creamy but not grossly creamy. We visited here for a 5 day vacation. Although we enjoyed the resort the brunch at Ola was a huge disappointment for $350!!!!! Advertised at $65 pp with 3 adults and 2 children under 4 was absolutely ridiculous. We live in south Florida where brunches are over the top but priced reasonably for what you get. Ola brunch had ZERO seafood options outside of an overly cooked swordfish filet. We have a YouTube channel called Brunch Fam where we featured this brunch. Employees make the business. If it had not been for your server Miosotys, the rating would have been so much less. The buffet had a paella out in the open not covered cold and it had been picked through with no sea food. Miosotys saved the day by bringing us warm portions from the kitchen, because the new paella served was cold. The coffee was cold, again she remedied the situation by getting the kitchen to put out fresh coffee, and she then prepared for us 2 delicious cups. There was so much disappointment from our first visit, starting with the floor around our table littered with food that needed to be swept and other issues. it's our third time at the condado vanderbilt, fancy ass great hotel. Like somewhere we've never stayed in order to "treat yourself". It really is a beautiful place, the kids love the pool so I camped myself at the bar for a couple hours, nice bar, nice breeze and like most things in this building/area, overpriced. I mean I guess 7 dollar medallas won't break the bank but a couple cocktails and you may be calling citibank for an extension. There is great service here, there are bartender and servers everywhere. There is a decent menu here but again slightly over priced, the kids got a tiny 20 dollar pizza which is really a 3 person snack or maybe a hungry man's meal. Our waiter even came to refresh our iced waters with new ice and cups without us asking. The food is hit and miss. We had the rib sliders (well cooked but could use a sauce) and the chicken club sandwich (could've been good had the chicken not been so darn salty...it's like the cook accidentally forgot they salted the chicken and then did it again).
